I like your setup. I too am building a fluval edge led fixture. I have replicated the arm but re designed it to house more leds. I have access to a 3d printer luckily. I plan to use the tc420 to control it all. I've been looking for a video like this. was a great help thank you.

chunachunks The principle is simple: fit as many leds as the source voltage allows on a Meanwell LDD-HW constant current converter. Then add the strings to the desired channels on the TC420. For example: a 12V adapter would allow for a string of max 3 high power leds. A 24V adapter would allow for a 7 leds string. Then take in account the amperage of the power adapter to exceed the total amperage of the LDD-HWs used.

My understanding i have to connect 3 (3w) cree leeds in line and + / gnd to the meanwell LDD The Meanwell LDD to + / gnd on 24 (or 12v?) power The PWM Signal direct zu 1-5 ch on TC420 or do i have to mod the TC420? Bruno Benzamat In this light, I have series of three leds per one MeanWell LDD-H. You can put multiple of these series on a single channel (two on each channel in this case). The reason I chose this rather expensive distribution: - 12V power supply (allows you to power only 3leds x3.5Vf max =10.5V

Don't think about a led as a light bulb. It is a diode, needing a certain amperage to let current pass and to emit light. An LED needs a minimum current intensity to work, and a maximum so it doesn't fry. Depending on other factors (including cooling), an led can draw more or less voltage at a certain amperage. Also, an led will emit different light color depending on the current amperage. Hence the PWM dimming, turning the led on and off to give more or less light, at the same color temperature (100% |||||||||||| ; 50% ||_||_||_|| ). Think: led needs constant well regulated amperage.

Una pregunta tienes modulos d 3 led supongo de 3v=9v. Y tu fuente. Es de 12v o de 9v.

What is the hissing sound? Is it come from the driver?
It's coming from the controller, LDDs are dead silent.

@Subhan Toba nope, I keep the controller behind the cabinet, and I can't say I can hear it. Anyway, the noise is only obvious at min dimming.
