There were some really great songwriters at Hotel Cafe that night... Thanks again to John Shanks, Guitar Center, and all the sponsors who helped curate this seriously rad event. I truly had a wonderful time - one that I wont ever forget :)
my favorite joe hertler song, absolutely fantastic song with great lyrics!!
I am absolutely moved by this performance. The song is one of the best lyrics I have heard in a long time and the music is beautiful as well. I think I would have a hard time liking any other of the competitors as much as this. Although I still have yet to hear them. I had to comment after being so blown away. Joe you are my hero man and I write everyday and strive for the soul that you seem to exude so easily. But I know that you had to work very hard to get where you are and it sure paid off.
Amazing artist Joe Hertler

This was way better than the winner. Maybe, it just speaks to me but I felt this performance way more than the others.
Great stuff, bro! Loved it.
really cool melody
Awesome
goddamn that songwriting is spot on
really good.
honest and good, somehow the flower accoutrements help us appreciate the depths of colour in this encouraging performance
great ending!
Holy shit yes!

This is so Sufjan Stevens
I love it! By far the best
Joe, great job! I'm excited to share this with friends!
The most original of the finalists.
hes a good musician
Dylan meets Leonard Cohen, meets Arlo Guthrie. Nicely done!!!
Nice
I saw Joe with the rainbow seekers at the pyramid scheme in GR. One of the most fun shows I've ever been to. Not to mention the band got me laid by signing a poster for this girl for me.
This is one of my favorite songs! You are very talented. I was wondering if you could publish the lyrics because I am not a native english speaker and sometimes have a hard time following what you are singing. Tabs would be nice too :D
what amazing vocals! i gotta ask who played the piano? i never thought to do backing tracks but it seems like if that is what you used it is working beautifully! much support to your cause brother! let me know if you ever want to write a piece together!
Nice lyrics
thumb up
Sadly I can't link to the lyrics, nor can I post them here (youtube policy)...
Google: Joe Hertler JL Hudson Bandcamp
it's the 90s again
are there tabs out for Hertler's music?
what tuning?
I swear I heard harmony at 4:09
Not being a cookie cut song makes this even better if you ask me. Anyway your song is well written, well played and well sung. Are you on Spotify? If you are, then you should post a link to your Spotify homepage. I’d be a follower and hope you’ll consider returning the gesture… Lastly I live in Williamston, MI so we're practically neighbors. Thanks for sharing this well written song with all of us..! Cheers..!
He has a band called Joe Hertler and the Rainbow Seekers
HOLY CHEESCAKE!
i think this guy is way better than the guy who won...
Totally agree... the only one I really liked. More real sing-songwriter; the other ones are more just popsongs
