That place has been a landmark since I was a child in the 60's, and maybe way before that. I have made the trip from NY to Fla more times than I remember and each time I notice fewer cars there and fewer billboard signs advertising it from 50 miles away. The remaining billboard signs are like the neon lights, a state of decay and disrepair. I think in the near future that South of The Border will suffer the same fate of the Catskill resorts in upstate NY. Everything has its day, and their day is coming to an end. Too bad.

This is one of the saddest roadside places anywhere. Every time i stop, it looks just like your video, desolate & dirty. Why it still exists, I have no idea🤷‍♀️
