And there's even more rarities I didn't include because the video was just too long, like the "We Are R Why" single, the rare "Radio Mix" disk, the three albums made as The Hafler Trio, plus hours and hours of live material. The rabbit hole is endless...
The Metaz form8 part hit me since I remember coming home during winter evening and listening to Sign. I was feeling really bad but when the track came in, I felt some sort of hope and appreciation to the beauty of this world. This one is special.
Wow same, I was taking a walk by myself as the leaves were falling all around, listening to the album on release day. It's nice to have something like Autechre to listen to because it doesn't come with all the baggage and bs that other music does, something very much needed at that time. To me, it's music where I can think about the music without being pressured to think about the "art". aka good facking noises
Ngl Hub is one of the most terrifying songs of all time. That “aaAAAaAhHH” sound always brings to mind a very animated trickster devil. Something kinda like voldo off of Soul Caliber
lmao I love under boac. i've noticed a similar response from a lot of casual ae listeners, when oversteps came out, everyone was like yay! oversteps, then when they went deep again, people were like oh no! not this again! tbh I think they still had a lot of attention from the casual audience with amber.
i pretty much agree with all of them except the Oversteps one, that whole album felt so sinister, like, why would they make something so NORMAL this late in their career
Yeah, their discography is daunting, but there's plenty of places to start with. First, if you want to simplify it, you can ignore most of the EPs without losing too much. I would still listen to Garbage EP because it's fantastic and EP7 as it's basically an album, not an EP. Then, you have a few choices. You can go all in and listen in chronological order, which is great cause you will notice their gradual sound evolution, but you can also pick a few albums from different eras and see what you enjoy the most. I'd say that some fundamental album picks would be: Amber, Tri Repetae, LP5, Draft 7.30 and Exai. There's a lot of content there to unpack, and it's a varied selection of their different sounds without going into their most impenetrable works. If you do want to have a taste of their latest madness, I suggest elseq 1 (only the first record from elseq 1-5). I hope you give them a chance some day!
Autechre discography is like the Scoville scale of spiciness. One should start with milder, more approachable work and slowly build up tolerance for the spicier stuff, but start in a wrong place and you might quickly become overwhelmed.
@@_Killkor i have listened to so much weird music at this point and grew to love it years ago. I jumped into the weird stuff first and have been listening on and off since the original comment
@@basspuff514 Listen to each album in reverse chronological order with every album tracklist sorted alphabetically, I promise you this easy simple trick will make any newbie into a diehard ae fan
@@basspuff514 My actual rec is post-Untilted if you want vibier stuff that takes over your mind with soundscapes, pre-Untilted if you want more classic "structured song" feeling (Gross generalisation, but I will stand by it)

The typical electronic dance music lover starts listening to Autechre
This video made me realize how little of Autechre I've actually listened to despite liking their work......

Lol I love his brief respite during oversteps. Very true
I love how this ends with Metaz form8 and marhide; two of my favorite songs from their latest releases.
Ngl Hub is one of the most terrifying songs of all time. That “aaAAAaAhHH” sound always brings to mind a very animated trickster devil. Something kinda like voldo off of Soul Caliber
It's definitely one of the most alien-like tracks from their early records. It got engrained in my head because of that lol.
i love hub i dont think that it's scary and no im not crazy
I heckin love Sublimit from Untilted. The whole album itself is brilliant
Maybe the best "Mr. Incredible gets uncanny" music video I've seen. I'll surely listen to NTS sessions and elseq after hearing this!
Gantz Graf literally changed my life.
Samee
Stuck the landing on this one 😂

u need to made a lusine uncanny
You mean Luisine? His music is a lot more cheerful, so it's gonna be difficult to find uncanny tracks lol.
@@holycrapjimhox that's the challenge
@@enneagramma7304 Yep, but also the meme format is no longer funny by this point.
what's the deal with all this videos of uncanny autechre and afx
Bad, awful meme, you skipped all their live sets!! Call yourself a fan smh
