    I didn't know much about this song. Some time ago, a radio program in Japan introduced the song and it says that this is the one of popular songs in Ukraine. I was overwhelmed how beautiful this music is, and I hope the war ends. Hope for Ukraine.

    I heard the Estonian National Symphonic Orchestra perform this piece some nights ago and have been searching for it ever since. The NCO should be proud of their interpretation - by far the best I've heard. They have the strength of an orchestra five times their size. I've listened to many versions, but none have quite the depth of emotion called for by this achingly beautiful piece. Truly well done.

    This lament is about war in Europe, again. Never, since former Jugoslavia 1992, a people in Europe has suffered like this. We all thought that evil times were gone, but no. History repeats itself. All our hope and understanding goes today to the Ucraine people.

    This piece is a soundtrack to the old ukrainian movie.
    As ukrainian films were strictly censored by soviet propaganda at that time, the music was supposed to express what the picture was not allowed to…

    I cancel the Abo of NCO until you add a tribute to the starving children of Yemen. Cannot stand this hypocricy anymore.

    • @staffanolofsson8201
      @staffanolofsson8201 Před 2 lety +8

      The Norwegian Chamber Orchestra has not the the power to make all in this world right. I am sure that they/we all are concerned about the starving in Jemen. The hypocricy you mention has to be mentioned and directed to politicians, not to musicians.

    • @pellelarsen9718
      @pellelarsen9718 Před 2 lety +5

      I am sorry you take our support to the Ukrainian people as hypocricy. We would really like to support both children in Jemen and all over the world who have a terrible situation. It's simply too many wars and too much suffering going on all over the world at the same time. I agree with you that there is a lot of hypocracy going on from both European countries, USA, Saudi Arabia +++. We are trying to focus on different crises and have been playing for Refugees from Syria and Africa, as we are also making childrens programmes for local children with multi cultural background. Some of our musicians are also supporting special programmes with music for chiildren in India. But sadly, we cannot reach out a hand to as many as our hearts want to. I kindly ask you for your understanding. If you have a melody from Jemen that we could play, I would be happy to give a musical greeting from us to them too. Best from Per Erik Kise Larsen, general manager of NCO

      @@pellelarsen9718 And I am very sorry that you completely misunderstand me. For me NCO stands for Norwegian Chamber Orchestra. I am not sure that you have something to do with them. And I trust this orchestra in their support for Ucraine, as I also have support, but I dont trust you Per Erik Kise Larsen!!!
