This overview series is a great way to get acquainted with China's basic history. It really helps to learn from someone who actually speaks chinese and is really familiar with the culture.

Have you ever heard of the emissary that China sent to Rome around 95AD he would've arrived in Rome around 97AD during the first year of Trajan's rule. He never made it past the Persian Gulf region due to miscommunication. However I am aware the Romans sent and emissary mission to China during Antoninus Pius's reign as emperor sometime in the 150's AD and this emissary was successful at reaching China and retuning to Rome. I wonder if you know anything about that story I would like to know more about it 😄
I've had that on my list of stand-alone topics for the longest time....My big great idea was to do a series that offers a deep dive into many of the greatest battles of ancient and modern times. For most of these wars I mention, rarely do I go into too much detail....But for events such as the Chu-Han Contention and Gaixia, a lot of material exists and I wanted to draw on that to do this series. So, be looking for that one of these days. You're one of many who have asked me to do this. Thanks!

I'm a new fan, I was driven to you by your history of Xinjiang, best one I've found. The CCP is the best thing that ever happened to Xinjiang. I see Xi, doing the Han thing, enforcing unity as the only way to run this zoo. I rate Xi high on the Confucian scale. Xi has dragged China into the flush toilet and clean water era. If Xi does nothing else, that will do.
Nope. The CCP combines the worst of the Qin and Qing. Then add in a healthy dose of megalomania leading to gigantic shoddily built projects and environmental devastation. Not to forget the Chinese national sport: messenger shooting. Thus it has always been: long divided, must unite; long united, must divide.
