I can greeeeettt!😂
In a bus or taxi I’ll greet the person beside me, in an Uber I’ll greet the driver and make small talks, on my street I’ll greet the shop owners, climbing up the stairs I’ll greet a passer by. As an introvert it helps me do so much without doing too much to acknowledge and relate with people
My sister 😂 in the greeting department.❤
A fellow introvert finds this very helpful.
One other social skills I've recently started practicing and has been helpful is giving gifts especially people I look up to. It doesn't have to be so big.... Just a token of appreciation for their impact
Niceee
Yes! This has saved me at my work place. Also, I became friends with many people in 2022 because I sent them a birthday gift. I recommend
Yes.. I think this is very important too. And many people especially Nigerians need to cultivate the habit of giving. Never go to any occasion or outing empty handed.. No matter how little the gift is.
@@olunugakikelomo9867 so amazing
@@isabellaoyeniyi1612
Wow. I've never ever done this before. I must start practicing this
Pastey does a lot for this generation to be honest.
It's how he goes out of his way to simplify sound knowledge all round.
Things that might be common knowledge suddenly become so profound yet simple to apply.
Personally, I'm grateful for Apostle Emmanuel Iren everyday.
God continue to bless and keep him. Amen.
Honestly, what a well-rounded Man of God🙏🏿
Honestly, he's simply a gift that keeps giving. A truly balanced Man of God ❤🔥🙌

I ask people how their day went, this helps me network with recruiters a lot, cause it makes me sound like I care about them. I do it for evangelism too
Excuse me, when do you do this?
"EVANGELISM"
That's the office I function in for God to do his work, it's really nice meeting similar workers in that regard.
I want to connect with you, also build this sense of community, what are your socials?
Let me know what you think, God bless.
it’s important to know that you’re not “less” than anyone. yes someone might be holding a higher position but that doesn’t make you any less of a human being. He or she is a human being just like you. That is something that has helped me be more confident when addressing people
Noted 🙏🏾
Wisdom
Fantastic points sir! 🙏
Some others that I've learned and practice include:
- Always avoid the urge to judge other people; let people feel like they can be themselves around you.
- Can't remember if Pastor Iren mentioned it, but please smell nice. Wear a nice deodorant/cologne - you'd feel more confident to approach people. It could even be a conversation starter, lol.
- Be ready to add value to people anytime or anywhere. For instance, "oh you're a fashion content creator, you might want to follow so so person to glean some ideas". People open up to givers easily.
Still more, but I can remember these for now. 🙌❤
I love these!👏🏽

One social skill that I keep reminding myself about is practicing my authenticity. Simply being oneself is so powerful in a world loaded with identity crises. So, within any given social space, I remember to be myself, to be genuine in my actions and sincere with every remark. I also consider it really helpful to understand that my way of having fun is legitimate and no one else should try to intimidate me because I don't want to hang out in their own way. Communicating this difference is the tricky part and this is where practice really helps. Thanks for sharing all these useful nuggets PIE. God bless you sir!
Thanks Pastey... I have also learned to be teachable. It's okay to keep quiet when you're not familiar with the subject matter. Also, I try not to argue blindly in a bid to sound knowledgeable. This can frustrate the other party and give irritable vibes. Enquire, ask questions and be actually interested, like Pastey said. And if you know something, confidently and simply lay it out..
Great!
Thank you
I love this, nobody talks about this. Your work is not enough and will not speak for you. People will speak for you. In school we are never taught this, all you need is to read your books and pass your exams. We then transfer this into work, we do our job alone but you need to relate, look at the office dynamics, and follow accordingly.
I have noticed that not everyone has the ability to speak while a group discussion is going. Some will just stay muted as if they had nothing to say where as they have a lot to say. When I see my self in a gathering like that I figure out people like that very quickly, ask them very simple questions and I will ensure it makes them smile. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
I'm kinda guilty of this, staying mute in a group discussion
@@RealJeRi me too
I do that too, sometimes...
@@RealJeRialways try to engage with people! They is happiness in it.
@Wisdom Moon Nice!
One thing that has helped me is that when I get to a new space, I take some minutes to observe the persons around, join in on open conversations, and may not talk much but at least I listen or I try to start a conversation with a smile, it works all the time. The little things you do also matter. One day, during my internship at this place, I didn't have enough money on me, so on my way to work, I bought some chocolates and shared them with my colleagues at work. Also, when visiting anyone, no matter how small, I make it a habit to not go empty-handed.
Wow🤗🥰
One of the things I am learning to do is, walk up to people and greet them. While I walk towards them, I look for something to honestly compliment them about
Another social skill I have learnt is speaking my native language. I don't form 'big' by trying not to speak my native language. Over the years, it has really helped me to build relationship with people .Thank you Dad for this video ,was very insightful.
Pastey this really was for me. Thank you Sir.
I’m the type to do what that woman did and stay in my lane. But today I’ve learned that I should be a bit more flexible in such situations. Go out of my way to be kind to even difficult people.
One of the social skills I love and has been beneficial to me is saying Thank You!, regardless of the magnitude of the help, favour, assistance I receive from people. It works alot.
Thank you Apostle, you are loved sir✨
I think learning how to do small talk will help a lot. I don't know if there is a system to it but I know being good at small talk can open up a path for more meaningful, deeper conversations while still keeping the interaction light.
One social skill I practice is complimenting people. I won't just say you look good, for instance, I'll say "I really love your hair". People can tell when compliments are genuine, so say it warmly and with a smile.
"Social skills can be learned", that's the comment!!!!! Thank you pastor Iren
Checking up on people regularly also helps in building relationships and social skills.
Thank you so much Pasteyyyy for this huge insight. As a gen Z😅, greeting people is something I should intentionally practice. I do greet people but there are so many people in this world and greeting almost every seems like a hassle. Having a better quality of life is all about intentionality. We have to be intentional even in the things of the Spirit. I really admire you so much Pastey. You are dispensing great wisdom. You will definitely be rewarded Sir. Thank you!🙇
One of my goals for this year is to develop my social skills. I'm an introvert and shy person. I'm not so good at initiating a conversation but I can keep it flowing once someone starts it...... Cos after saying 'hi' there's just nothing more to say. Lol
But i smile a lot and I see it is welcoming.
This was a great piece.
I'm going to make a video of myself and initiate a conversation with myself for a start. 😊
Thanks Pastey
This is so me and I am trying to do better and be more social this year, I pray God helps me
Many times people cring on meeting someone for the first time. I believe engaging people first is something that makes them feel comfortable & also smoothen rapport especially when meeting people for the first time.
I've learned to get to know people by their names. It makes people feel loved and shows you care enough. 😊
This was amazing. One way I spark up conversations is by saying something I like on them, like their hair, or dress, and beauty even
Thank you Apostle for bringing light to these simple things that make all the difference in the quality of one's life.
A gift that keeps giving🙌❤.
I applied one of the skills thought here after watching and got a gift from my boss in the office last Friday.
Thank you Pastey. These tips are so enlightening am an introvert who doesn't see the need to connect with people. I will definitely work on this.
DRESS WELL O ! Cannot be overemphasized.
Tbvh, most of this things, I don't do it. Thank you Pastor Iren for the insight. I am so blessed to hear this, and I've decided to make changes
It is the simplicity and openness for me.
Thank you, Pastor.
Thank you so much Sir. All important... another thing in showing interest in others dressing is compliments, even though some don't know how to accept compliments 😂give it courteously still
Pastey talk to me direct.. This episode was for me, However, I've started practicing, starting with greeting people, even people I don't know, and also complementing peoples dressing, I've learnt so much. God bless you sir.

This is profound. Thanks Pastey
I learned a lot, Pastor! Thanks for sharing
Thank you Pasteyy!♥
I'm watching this at the perfect time. Apparently I set a big goal to talk to 15 ladies that I don't know yesterday Sunday. I was scared for a while but I canceled the feeling of fear by having a conversation with myself. Abi is it not just to talk with babes?😅😅. One lady didn't give me a favourable response though - she gave me elbow 😭. Lastly, i actually spoke with a group of 3 and 4 ladies that were together. This helped me achieve my goal faster. And by the way, the ladies were pretty 😍
😂😂😂😂😂
Thank you for these tips, Sir.🔥
