Yeah and it's not gonna work for shit, watch the poor engine starve. Needs to look at a few other pickups to see how to do it right.
@rjk just curious, what’s wrong with the one suppy is doing and what should he be doing?
@@lucasurlie2372 First of all, his pickup won't suck any oil unless it is all the way at the top of the strainer where the opening starts, which means that any sloshing oil will cause starvation unless the sump is grossly overfilled. Also, a pickup should be able to move around a bit with gravity and g-forces in order to follow the oil around the pan, so that a little sloshing won't cause the pump to run dry intermittently.
@@rjk7104 Man, I've never seen an oil pickup that wasn't solid mounted. Yeah, they're normally fairly flat or have a snout on them to pick up oil right at the bottom of the pan, but they don't fucking move around.

Like Suppy made, just smaller diameter. 4.5 litres or so will go in that sump, I reckon they must be almost all the way filled up, no crank to worry about windage.

This is like places I've worked, a bunch of fools said they can do it, but I end up with the hard part. You all got that body kit on and made it look nice, but that's where it ended. You are not media guys you are all super elite car guys. For sure some of you but the others not so much.

Nice work dude, you will want to alter that oil pickup. The idea is it should be no higher of the floor in the lowest part of the oil pan than 5/16" ~3/8". The mesh is great but if the surface area shouldn't be to large as it makes it to easy for it to pick up air. If you look at a pickup out of any car you will see that it will have about half of its area covered in sheet metal pointing in the direction of travel or the front. This is there to prevent air getting in upon acceleration. Please add a proper gasket to the mount face against the block along with one more brace that runs to the other end of the pipe. This is very important.

I was keeping track of this but got lost on how long it's been going so we will say a very accurate year and 8 months it's been going on as a project. that's saying they got the truck in January of 2019 which is as far back as I can find some of the first videos on it. still just the fact there trying to finish it is good considering how long some of Scotto's cars have been waiting .
