- Last week I went into the mountains to see a 700 square foot Prefab Home. While I was there I had a chance to sit down with someone from the company who built it to find out more about the home and how it was built. After seeing the home I got a tour of the factory to see where the modular home was made. Watch and learn more about the Saturna 7, a 700 square foot prefab home that was built for the mountains.

One would somehow think that building inside a warehouse, with an assembly plant type of a set-up…that there would be economies of scale that could be passed on to the customer. Instead, these albeit, nice dwellings are pretty darn expensive…and I wonder exactly why?
One reason is that it's a company in British Columbia in Canada. I guess those people think everyone is millionaire.

One thing you haven’t touched on in any video’s I’ve watched is the issue of import tariffs from outside (the US) countries.
You mentioned the home being available in both canada and the usa, and when you think about it that means that the house can exempt the owner from having to maintain two visa residency documents, because the description clearly states that the house can legally be placed in the canadian/US border, so your boarders can reside in either country, while living under the same roof.
It's too late, you can't change the terms of service!! haha

I grew up across the Detroit river from Windsor Ontario. We used to combine our celebrations with Canada they have a Freedom Day on July 1st.
Went out to their website. They model you were in with the nice porch area isn’t listed on their website. Grrrrr.
Hopefully its up there soon
The pricing is outrageous though. The largest model they have on their site, 600 sq/ft, is $239,000.

The slogan for these small homes should be...Tiny homes for big home prices!
The pricing for these things is absolutely insane. You're essentially buying a tiny home trailer home that looks nice for the price of an actual house, except these homes will not appreciate over time, just like a trailer house. These will depreciate over time and are a bad investment.
These homes look nice, but they go against everything people in this market are looking for - small homes for small/reasonable prices.
If you're going to spend $200k+ on something like this, it makes sense to just save more and buy a real house that is an actual investment.
