Only thing Raw 2 had over everybody was the customization with the rosters and your created rosters and the entrance music, you can literally download your own entrance music to the game nobody was doing that at the time

Even the season mode had lil stuff that was dope that todays games don’t have like the fact that you can manipulate different wrestlers, backstage,and set them up you can talk to different divas and try to hook up with them

Raw 2 wasn't better than HCTP, but it did some amazing things for that time. They nailed the atmosphere of what WWE was at the time, the customization options were unprecedented, and the story mode was entertaining af. I had a blast with it!
I played all the versions of these games the best ones were on ps2 than GameCube than Xbox but all three were unique and different i wished it was still like this

The Raw games on Xbox weren't made by Yukes. Yukes only made the Playstation and Gamecube games at that time. Raw and Raw 2 were made by Anchor Inc. Then Xbox had WrestleMania 21 made by Studio Gigante. All 3 games were published by THQ though.

I wish they would at least duplicate to some degree what they had with the campaign in this game, it was fun even though it was weird for a wrestling game.

This was the game where I created my first CAW that I have been using all the way up to WWE 2K24. My character is called The Krow and 2K24 is his very last game because I'm retiring him soon. He's finishing his career in an E-fed right now that's runned by my friend Christian Payne called KXW x HRW. The Krow is their current KXW champion. 😁

Nah, it's because a lot of people, like myself, didn't own a Playstation and had limited options when it came to certain games
3:55 Yeah XBOX had the RAW games, Gamecube had the Wrestlemania games (at first) and Playstation had the Smackdown games, but then it got switched where XBOX got a Wrestlemania game super late, then Gamecube got Day of Wreckoning games instead.
The consensus tiers for the games at the time was always 1) PS2 game 2) Gamecube games 3) XBOX games. But I always felt like Gamecube had more risks taken with their wrestling game, that made them more enjoyable.
PS2, Xbox and GameCube had their exclusive basketball games too. Interesting times.

No. But it did have multiple features that I think make it worth playing. Having a Season Mode that is Multiplayer comes to mind. Granted, the first 2 SmackDown Games did this as well.

Hell no 😅😅 the Xbox had the worst wrestling trilogy. Now wm 19 & day of reckoning 1-2 were great alternatives to the smackdown series.
The only 2 things I’ll give them is their presentation was top notch and the ability to upload your own music into the game was 🔥

This game is janky as hell. But season with friends is one of the most fun things you can do. Creating characters and adding new ones at the end of the season, Fighting for multiple title matches in a night, choosing who gets which title, TAG TEAM. It's so dope

Had an Xbox, Raw 1 and 2 were awful. My friend had a PlayStation and the storyline was incredible, just the feel of the game, interaction, belts blew Raw games out. PlayStation’s Smackdown games were all the best from Smackdown 1 to HCTP.

Loved and played the hell out of Raw 2 growing up. Me and my cousins loved wrestling and would play whatever we got our hands on in the genre. Raw 2 is considered to bad by a lot of people because it's always compared to games like Smackdown.
Nothing better than WWE Smackdown HCTP but WWE Raw 2 was another classic I be up for hours playing it now u make me wanna cry 👍🏼

HCPT was miles better, but I still enjoyed playing Raw 2. It was so fun using custom music for entrances.
Oh and you can't really do a walkthrough in RAW 2 because it doesn't have an actual story and the season doesn't end.

So many little patches that can be applied by us though customization. Like Triple H’s entrance you can fix the water part by the ropes by placing custom pyro in his mouth lol
And you haven't even seen anything of the game in that video. As someone who grew up with all 3 franchises ( the PS2 games, Xbox games, and Gamecube games ) . I can tell you that, Raw 2 was, by far, my favorite ( ahead of HCTP, which was my number 2 ) . Keep in mind that Raw 2 released in 2003. On many aspects, Raw 2 was a lot better than the others.
Want some examples ? Here we go.
First, the most obvious, we had custom entrance themes ( already in the 1st Raw game too ) . Meanwhile, PS2 clearly didn't had that. Had to wait for SvR 2007 on X360 ( released in 2006, so 3 years after Raw 2 ) to get that feature in the SD series. And since SvR 2007 didn't release on PS3, that means Playstation players had to wait 1 more year to get it in SvR 2008, being the first WWE game on PS3. Meaning Playstation got that feature 4 years in total after Xbox players got it.
In Raw 2, we could choose the ref ( 4 different ones ) and it actually had an impact on gameplay. 🤯
Earl Hebner would have a slower count ( for the pinfalls ) than the other refs, as opposed to Mike Chioda who had a faster count than the other refs.
That's right, unlike the current games like 2K23, it wasn't just a visual difference that doesn't matter. I mean, dang... We could select a ref in Raw 2, a game released in 2003. Meanwhile, we had to wait all the way up to 2016 ( 13 years later ) to have the possibility to select a ref in the Smackdown/2K games. And it has only been a visual difference ever since. Still all the way to 2023 ( 20 years later after the release of Raw 2 ) , selecting the ref has zero impact, and therefore, even a game released in 2023 is still behind a game released in 2003 on that aspect... Shows just how much Raw 2 was literally decades ahead on some aspects. We don't need 20 different refs. 3 or 4 is enough.
Have it like Raw 2 where it actually matters who the ref is, as they'd all have different stats that impacts the way they're doing their job ( some would count faster, other would count slower, some would stay longer or less time laying down when being hit, some would be more prone to DQ if doing anything that goes against the rules while others would be more forgiving, ect ) .
Seriously, what's the point of selecting the ref in the current games ? In Raw 2, it was an interesting feature. I'd select Mike Chioda for a cruiserweight match, so that he counts faster to be in the same vibe as the participants of the match, and Hebner for a Undertaker vs Hogan at Mania for example, slower participants, slower counts from the ref giving more opportunities to kick out at the very last moment to make the match more epic and all. That's something Raw 2 nailed a lot better than the current games releasing 20 freakin' years after Raw 2...
In Raw 2, we could edit every Superstars outfit. 🤯
Again, keep in mind that Raw 2 released in 2003, and we could do that.
Meanwhile, in the SD franchise, we had to wait SvR 2010 ( so, late 2009, 6 years later ) to just edit the colors of the outfits... We couldn't change anything of the outfit itself, only change the color.
Had to wait 2K15 ( so, late 2014, meaning 11 years after the release of Raw 2 ) to have a feature in the SD franchise that we had 11 years ago in Raw 2... It's just insane how way ahead Raw 2 was compared to the SD franchise.
Raw 2 also had my favorite Season mode. We could use actions ( like set a trap, steal in someone's bag, ect ) , be enemies or allies with whoever we wanted at any time we wanted. That was sick. We never were able to go that deep in any SD games. From a story perspective, it was trash as it didn't had any, but, dang, having the possibility to be allies with whoever we want instead of the ones that the story forces on us, and be enemies with whoever we wanted too. That was dope.
Also, one of my absolute favorite feature. The game was actually a game. What I mean by that, is we were able to do anything we wanted without restrictions. We could challenge for ( and win ) any title in the game with female superstars. Which was so cool. We could have Trish defeat Lesnar for the WWE Title at Mania if we wanted to. I was playing as Lita in Season mode, and teamed up with Matt Hardy to be Tag Team Champions together, feuding against the Dudleyz. It was so cool, so fun. It's a freakin' game, come on devs let us do whatever we want, guys...
In Raw 2, we could roll out of the ring during the Royal Rumble match, and attack people making their entrance on the outside, fight on the outside. We could grab weapons and all. It was crazy, the Rumble was so fun because of it. Meanwhile, we have literally no gameplay possibilities in Royal Rumble matchs, even in the current games. We're trapped inside the ring and that's it. Even a game released in 2023 has less gameplay features than a game released 20 years ago. Just how insane is that ?...
I could go on and on, but, you get the point. Raw 2 is decades ahead of the SD franchise games... That's how crazy good that game is. Refs and Royal Rumble matchs are still better in that 2003 game than it is in 2K23... Took 11 years to add to the franchise an "edit superstar's outfit" feature that a game released 11 years earlier already had... The possibility to give any title to any female superstar ( and of course, no dumb gender restriction that makes the game a lot more restrictive for people who enjoys using female superstars ) . I mean, dang... And people wonder why I've always considered ( and always will ) Raw 2 to be the best game of all time. Sure, the gameplay wasn't great. But man, that game was so far ahead of it's time that even the current WWE games can't compete with it on some aspects. That's how amazing and fun that game was.

Your biggest issue is you kept picking multi man matches before learning how to properly play. You should have started with some singles matches. Despite it's faults Raw 2 is the best Xbox wrestling game. Customization is better than anything until the PS4/Xbox One era. My only tip is use Mike Chioda as your ref. Every ref has a different pin count and Chioda has the fastest.

I was a Sony/Smackdown guy personally. But my friend had the RAW games & the XBox. That game was actually wild fun to play with a bunch of people. But the hit boxes were pretty bad, & it felt too much like it was trying to be a better No Mercy
