The album can be better than that but I am so happy for Kim. We can expect more in the next album. I really love uhoh, KOH, Claws and Hit It From The Back, playing them nonstop, definitely my most favs.
I felt the same way about brrr, gave it a couple chances but couldn’t get into but hearing Kim belt her ass off to it during that performance completely changed how i thought about it. Now it’s one of my top played songs of the year so far 😭
This album is so crazy dancable, I would‘ve preferred less of the earlier released songs (eg unholy) , but as it‘s her debut album it fulfills it‘s purpose of a mix of her different sounds. Gonna listen and dance a lot to these songs this summer 🔥

I LOVE Castle in the Sky. My fave off the album. You were spot on with the DDR reference. I know Kim is a Cascada fan so I can hear the inspo from her too. It was giving a bit DJ Sammy and a bit German techno rave as well. It’d GO OFF in the club

Correction on the Kim Petras lore: Yes, she’s transgender, but she was allowed - through rigorous processes - to start her transition rather early. At 12 she started puberty blockers and subsequently was put on hormones that would start her transition. At 16 she concluded her transition journey. Her breasts are „natural“ in the sense that her body grew them due to the influence of the hormone therapy. They are not surgically added, to my knowledge.

A no skip album for me. I love it
i'm happy that revelations, hiftb and sex talk made it on the album but i'm a little sad that treat me like a hoe wasn't listed on the album because i feel like the song fits right after brrr. and plus i kinda liked problematique better, because all the songs were good. and i just didn't really feel it with this album. some of the tracks were good but there were a few songs on the album that didn't really feel like a good fit.
I think that she was stuck between really liking songs from the previous unreleased project and maybe limited time in the studio for a new sound! But it can only get better from here 😄
Castle in the Sky is inspired by German Happy Hardcore Techno, like Blümchen, Scooter or Das Modul

In pop music, repetitiveness often results in catchiness, it’s an art form haha
IMO brrr should have been placed after BAIT. The album should have closed with Castle In The Sky. Sex Talk, I can take or leave, but it should have gone around Coconuts. If Jesus was a Rockstar could have been a hidden track at the end.
Minute is one of my favs too. It reminds me of a song by Justin Bieber but I can't recall which one.

yes definitely agree the tracks need to be reordered. it’s not very cohesive especially compared to her other works. but the songs on their own pretty much all slap.
Feed the Beast almost has a Latin kind of beat. At least it reminds me of it.
I agree that the Dr. Luke thing is very icky and unfortunate, but Kesha has seemingly closed that chapter with the joint statement that was released. I still would prefer for Kim (and other artists) to not work with Dr. Luke, but I’m trying to not hold it against artists as much. Also, I find it interesting how disproportionate the Dr. Luke scrutiny often seems to be when it comes to different artists. I don’t hear his name nearly as often when it comes to JLo, Doja Cat, Tyga, Lil Durk, Young Thug, Latto, Saweetie, etc.
Also Chris Brown continues to be a piece of scum, it’s not just the Rihanna incident.
Great reaction overall, I mean, you seem very objective when commenting on the songs. However, I don't agree that Dr Luke is relevant when it comes to Kim's music. He's still in the company and it's his current work. The rest must be left to justice. I don't feel Revelations or any other songs are overshadowed by his presence in their production. At the end, it's a Kim's song and she's the one delivering it. Revelations is perfect.
At the end of the day, I think that it’s a very subjective and nuanced conversation! Different people will have different responses to it, but I think it boils down to whether we believe in forgiveness/restorative justice vs. where the line is drawn and it becomes too much! Hopefully that makes sense 😅

Yes! Somebody pointed out it sounded like a Justin Bieber song, and I think it may have been Stay with Kid LaROI, which just so happens to be written by Charlie!

This album sucked, the tracklist is totally random, few really good songs like King Of Hearts, uhoh, Claws and Castle In The Sky. Sex Talk, Coconuts and Unholy weren't meant to be on this album, Dashboard and Try Again should have been put in their place. Revelations and Hit It From The Back are good but don't fit the theme of the album other than cutting HFTB in half. Not worth it
I understand where you’re coming from! But if you look at all the songs individually, there are more than not that are really really good!

A little sad "your time to cry" didn't replace coconuts & confession didn't make the cut. she could've had a whole religion-based juxtaposition section with confessions, unholy & revelations (bc coconuts just feels so out of place on this album) however, overall so happy revelations, sex talk & hiftb made it onto there!! obsessed with claws, uhoh, & king of hearts!!
The same as mine even that I love Your Time To Cry like you lol. uhoh, Claws and KOH are my most favorites!
