quel grand ténor ! Le timbre, le grain de la voix, est immédiatement saisissant... Quelle grandeur dans ce timbre ! Quelle puissance, quelle nostalgie, quelle vibration ! C'est sûr que ça change par rapport à aujourd'hui... Tout un monde disparu... celui de l'Europe, la vraie, l'ancienne... elle vibre encore en nous, et cette voix la tire de son sommeil... Et l'oeuvre tellement oubliée de Giordano, qui fut surement l'un des meilleurs du vérisme... Salve Italia dal Francia ! Cette musique me console de vivre...

Il était ami avec mon Maestro qui m'a appris cette technique il y a 60 ans (déjà !).

Il fût le ténor préféré de Toscanini et cela se comprend. J'aime beaucoup cet air que j'avais appris avec mon maître et j'ai aimé lorsque j'étais collégien les écrits de chenier qui ne sont plus enseignés entre autres de nos jours .j'ai toujours trouvé curieux que ce soit un italien , et tant mieux qui eût l' idée de consacrer cette oeuvre magnifique à la mémoire de cet injustement sacrifié de la post révolution . LIberté , que de crimes sont commis en ton nom.! Salut à vous.

Aureliano Pertile era conosciuto negli anni 40/50 poi con l'evento di Dal.Monaco,Luciano Pavarotti e altri nuove voci fu un po' dimenticato ma l'opera del poeta Andrea Chenier ha cantato in maniera meravigliosa!
Uno splendore, meravigliosa voce!

El siglo pasado bien podría decirse de él el siglo de oro de la cuerda tenoril.Una pléyade de fulgor intenso capaz de deslumbrar a los que amamos el canto.Ahí quedan para siempre voces como Fleta, Pertile,Merli , Baum, y muchísimos màs, ademàs de los màs recientes Bergonzi,Corelli,Del Mónaco,Krausetc...
Pertile debe ser de los mejores tenores de todos los tiempos

Probably because he spent his career in Italy rather than going to New York to sing at the Met. Same with Francesco Merli.
I think this is an accurate reading of who the historical 'Chenier really was.
@@kimmillard9445 Dear Kim, Pertile sang at the Met in the 1921 season only , appearing in 15 performances that year. The reviews in Tosca, Cavalleria and Manon Lescaut were pretty good except for a critique of AP forcing or pushing in the more dramatic parts of the operas. He was only 36 or 37 years old at the time.
@@kimmillard9445 Merli was a friendly rival of Pertile's and Masini stated that he only takes his hat off to the hunchback. Pertile is very mesmerizing and captivating at times and remains one of my favorites. Enjoy

MDM has copied on Pertile as far as interpretation is concerned. And it's doing very well for him, given his temperament.
This is not from 1916. The sound of the orchestra clearly indicates an Electrical recording, not an Acoustic. Moreover, Pertile is a markedly different singer in the Acoustics period, more flowing, less emphatic. His style here reveals the Pertile of ca. 1930.
Excellent cleaning of a 78 record but this is not an acoustic record, it is an early electric recording
