  • The presidents of Mozambique, Filipe Nyusi, and Zimbabwe, Emmerson Mnangagwa, Thursday, toured the Machipanda railway line, which links the two African countries.
The railway was reopened after its rehabilitation of over 300 kilometers of rail and increasing its cargo handling capacity. The line also reintroduced the passenger train, with a capacity to carry 1,800 passengers.
Mnangagwa said that upgrading the line would help Zimbabwe overcome economic difficulties resulting from 23 years of Western sanctions.
Filipe Nyusi said the line, which had been nonfunctional for 26 years, fits into the vision of regional integration, and will boost the regional economy with cheaper imports and exports.

Good work trains must run to transport the people especially the poor across African countries. Its unfortunate in RSA a complex railway service of mainline is halted amid corruption claims and gross mismanagement
