Unlikely, the kind of losers she was getting involved with near the end of her life would had taken anything of value to keep buying dope, she probably closed her bank account and the last of what was left was paid in cash including some bags of new, shiny and pretty much worthless coins; the tip Nicky's gang got probably was related to some old, rare and very valuable coins, not the kind of thing a junkie would still have at that point.

This is a real grimace of a sadist and psychopath with internal turmoil. This scene lasts only for seconds, but it tells a lot. Each time I see this scene I always admire what kind of deep psychological work Joe Pesci has done in order to fully expose the personality of this villain in the movie.

Not sure how much people appreciate a few things:
    1. Scorceses ability to write and edit his film (in his head) to the rhythm of the classic rock and roll tune.
    2. The shot that he invents in the beginning of this video with each face being revealed behind the glass with a reflective slant, then into Pescis face.
    3. How Scorcese gives all three main characters their own scene, here it’s Nicky’s. And after the song ends, we know who the real boss of Las Vegas is.
