  • Our 75 gallon Malawi Cichlid tank has unexpectedly produced some African Cichlid fry!! This is supposed to be an all male Peacock Hap tank but we had a sneaky female Red Flush Peacock who we had purchased as a male (she's got such good color!) end up with a mouthful of baby cichlids!!
Our male Borleyi also made his way back into the fraternity!

My peacocks hold fight club when they pair off. I never saw any fry but there are suddenly 3 small Juveniles. They're going to grow out in the 90.

Thats really cool! I have a cichlid who did the exact same thing. He went near the food, but would not eat it. Until recently he or she decided that it wanted to eat again. And last night, I noticed a newly born fish. Now it makes me wonder which fish did it come from.

My albino cory's have been breeding like crazy. I have 30 two week old fry and my female dropped like 80 more eggs today! The bright side of "staying home". lol

Quick question I see that you’re a sponge filter, Is near your intake, I have my sponge filter on the opposite side of my tank, I do have a wave maker on the same side, of my intake making waves, and bringing back any stuff on the bottom back to the intake is that a good way to have? I think in one of my videos you are able to see my full tank please let me know?

Got my workout over the weekend. Water change on my 55, cleaning and water change on my daughter's 40 gal turtle tank. Couple weeks ago, noticed an OB peacock was holding. Thought I had all males. Luckily I have a 10 gal I can use for quarantine, so I stripped her over the weekend and have 20 fry. Not sure who the daddy is, gonna be like an episode of Maury until they get older and start showing some color. Hopefully it's the other OB peacock I have...

I feel your pain, three of my guaranteed males were females! Three groups of fry given to a mom and pop store!

  • @falcoretheminiluckdragon3060

Im Pretty sure i have malawi, happs, and peacocks in the same tank . Just found 3 babies ( yes i know they are called fry! I prefer babies, because i care about them) also holy shit daddy is guarding those babies even from mommy! Daddy is also the tank boss! I'm surprised that tank boss in only concerned about the 3 babies he chases everyone away except the common pleco who has guarded them just as much. I'm baffled by the behavior!

Babies are 1-1.5 inches long. Haven't videoed them because I'm still working on getting electricity and lights set up in the new fish room so their tank is dark for now.
I no longer have the female.
