The US has reportedly paused and delayed shipments of weapons to Israel amid differences over Benjamin Netanyahu's plan to begin a ground operation in Rafah. The shipments included powerful bombs and guidance kits for precision munition. While Israel's domestic defence industry is quite robust, the country has largely depended on US military aid for its security and safety. The US makes up around 68% of its total arms imports, most of which is bought using America's annual aid of around $3.8 billion. Biden's decision to withhold weapons sales is a symbol of recent strains in the relationship between these two long-time allies. How will it affect Israel's war in Gaza?
