The Peace Treaty (The Peace Treaty Of Waitangi) was initiated by the British Crown simply because the British Military couldn't genocide, conquest or conquer the Northern Maori of the 18th century. Ngapuhi was a force to be reckoned with. They butchered the British Military, amputated there bodies and cooked them in a hangi. Those cheifs who did die and spilled blood in battle defending there land culture and family died an honourable death. They paid with there lives and paid in full with there blood. So dont ever think those warrior chiefs bowed down or surrendered sovereignty, sold there souls to a foreign king or queen in England. Dont ever think or believe those warrior chiefs defended and died for there land culture and family to bow down or surrendered sovereign to a foreign king. Dont ever think those warrior chiefs who paid with there blood cede sovereignty to a foreign entity. Those warrior chiefs ate and killed there enemies. Dont ever think or believe those warrior chiefs bowed down to a foreign entity. Those Chiefs welcomed a partnership to work together with British Crown to share power and resources and new technology. Pakeha to govern there own people and Maori to govern there own people. That never happened. The British government took power, wealth and government control by 100%. Hone Heke cut the British flag pole down to symbolize that the treaty was a fraudulent contract being misinterpreted. To those who think Ngapuhi cede sovereignty to the British Crown and military better get a reality check. When you kill butcher and eat your enemy, dont ever think thats an act of ceding sovereignty, to bow down or surrender, to be fearful or be afraid. Dont ever think those warrior chiefs sold there souls to a foreign king and queen. NEVER!!!!! ake ake Amen. They died honourable to defend there land culture and family.

So long as we wave our fists at God, we will NEVER EVER be satisfied with life and we will always be in conflict with each other. So God would remind us all that " Today is the day of salvation and so long as we continue to harden our hearts towards HIM, there will always be conflict of every form. There will never be peace among us all, until we bow our lives to Jesus Christ who is the PRINCE of ALL PEACE and LORD of ALL LORDS and KING of ALL KINGS.

The Maori Battalion is one of the strongest Military Forces on planet earth. Then why do you believe pakeha? that you have complete ownership and control over us? What made you think? that we sold our souls to you? That we handed our land, culture and all our wealth and resources so freely to you? while we suffer for 200 years under a misinterpreted peace treaty contract. Those Warrior Chiefs of the 18th century didnt have an abstract concept of the english language let alone what the word 'SOVEREIGNTY' really meant? We only just encountered you pakeha we only just met you? To fully understand the english and maori language was not possible? We understood actions and good deeds. Your actions spoke louder than words. All we understood was 'MANA and POWER' For us to surrender? back down? Or throw the towel in wasnt even a consideration? You cheated us through a fraudulent peace treaty contract via misinterpretation of two different languages. After the signing of the contract. You arrested Maori land owners and confiscated there lands while you held them in prison. When Hone Heke had witnessed your present actions. He said thats not allowed? You cant imprison a Warrior Chief and steal his land for no reason? And so Hone Heke ended the contract by cutting down your british flag. So straight away what you thought and what we thought about the newly signed contract wasnt what each side truly thought because of language misunderstanding. And by Hone Heke expressing his actions by cutting the british flag down 3 times was to symbolise and prove by his actions that there was a misunderstanding and we have terminated this peace treaty contract therefore so forever and ever Amen! To cut down or burn your flag down is a direct insult to your King, crown and military. That means end of any partnership, treaty or friendship. To prison a Warrior Chief who has tribal rights as Rangatira status and then confiscate his land? Was a direct insult to Maori Chiefs and tribal rights. You cant tell me by there actions on both sides that Maori and Pakeha misunderstood eachother? If Maori were happy with the actions of pakeha and what was happening around them then Hone Heke wouldnt of cut the flag pole down with an act of insult? Instead if pakehas actions were good then Hone Heke would of embraced the british flag because he was happy with what he could see and what was happening around him. Hone Heke was not happy and he was one of the main Chiefs that encouraged the Treaty. Thats how i know there was a misunderstanding of language communication regarding the treaty. What we meant is not what you meant. Do you now understand pakehaa!!!

Why you blaming us for our ancestors acts. Don't know if you realize but pretty much every group of people did horrible things, including Maori. I believe the treaty obligation should be honored but us Pakeha get tired of you blaming us for our ancestors mistakes. There are certain things that are considered unhelpful for Maori, despite its good intentions. For one, making it easier to pass at Uni for Maori is stupid. There not dumber than non-Maori. Some of the smartest people I know are Maori and they didn't require it, yet recieved it. They should focus on changing the poor condti9n and environment some live in.
