Eventually Bunny you should expand your Halloween activities to a small carnival or something. Just some type of Halloween celebration that does games, face paintings, and food. I think you would make that something that is amazing!
@A S There's various options that don't require that depending on what you would want to do, but even if it's a small celebration in her back yard with bouncy houses and her trademark cotton candy, I think it would still be amazing!

History lesson: Back in the witch hunt days, people were checked for "devil's marks" because when someone was said to have made a deal with devil, (aka witches), they had a mark wherever the devil "fed" from them. They also had the pin tests if you didn't have any viable marks. Anytime you showed an area with no pain (or passed out) they considered it an "invisible" devil's mark.

Little bit of Halloween history to answer your question. Witches are usually depicted as green and wrinkly with warts because of the original roots of Halloween. Pagan and Wiccan religions celebrate Samhain (pronounced sow-in or sow-een) on the 31st of October. It is one of their most sacred holidays. Most practicing witches and Pagans honor a goddess know as "the crone" or "the old one". In olden times, the crone was often depicted as being old, wrinkled and very wise. Pagans honor The Triple Godess throughout the year: The Crone, The Maiden, and The Mother. They represent phases of the moon and they also represent stages in a woman's life. The Maiden is young, youthful and mildly nieve. The Mother is older, more rounded, comfortable in life. The Crone is old, wise from years of learning, and often jaded by years on earth and is a bit cynical. The Crone often shares traits with a "hag". Wore out, old, wrinkly, grouchy, grumpy. The idea and description of Halloween Witches comes from this idea of what The Crone, or a hag, looks like. As people started to become fearful of Pagans and Witches, they started taking this adaptation of The Crone and relating it to how all Witches were. They gave her green skin as to not appeal to children. They gave her warts as to make her look dirty or diseased, to keep children away. They made up stories of these witches luring children away from their families and eating them to scare children away and keeping children from choosing to follow in a witch's footsteps. Eventually, people stopped being scared of real life witches and they used this adaptation of The Crone as a symbol of their new non-Pagan holiday, Halloween. Like most holidays we still celebrate, it came from a major Pagan holiday and was distorted to fit into what fearful people wanted to celebrate.

I love that you spoil kids so much for Halloween. I loved Halloween as a kid too, and we always try to do little treat bags for the kids, too. It's honestly a lot of fun to see the kids have a great time.
So when in your Target video you were asking about Teal pumpkins, this ENTIRE VIDEO is basically a teal pumpkin haul! Non-food treats for kiddos with food allergies, etc. A teal pumpkin means you will have a treat for a kiddo that isn't food-based. So you've been ahead of the game for years, and didn't even know it!
Kids with allergies still want candies as a someone with a ton of allergies I know that personally and good alternatives is never chocolate but dum dums and skittles

Right, but teal pumpkin particularly are about providing non-food treats. There are also kiddos with corn allergies who can't have candy with corn syrup, or food color allergies, etc. So teal pumpkin is specifically for non-food treats so that it encompasses kiddos who may have more extreme or expansive food allergies.

See you're making wonderful memories for these children. Some of the best memories I had is when I used to go trick or treating in the 1970s and early 80s. So much so that I bought vintage paper cutouts for decorations. I have this jointed witch that I put on my door that's from the late 70s. It makes me really happy to pull it out every year and hang it up. If someone hadn't had that decoration when I was a kid I wouldn't have that fond memories that you're doing something really good that these kids will never forget.

I’m not sure if you know what the teal pumpkin project is but I recently learned about it and I think it’s definitely something you should think about doing with a few treat bags! Kids with nut allergies can go to the houses with a teal pumpkin outside because it means that they will receive only nut free items. You could make just a few bags with no chocolate/peanut butter candies and fill them with just like gummy candy and some of the teal colored items you have! Just wanted to share because I thought it would be a nice and cute idea! Keep doing what you’re doing girl and keeping the Halloween spirit for all of the kids! Love it!

Yes!! My daughter has a peanut allergy and I dread when she's a little older (she's 1.5 now) and doesn't understand why she can't have all the candy when she's trick or treating. We got a teal pumpkin and a bunch of non-treat toys to give out this year and will continue to do that!

I’m 28 now and vividly remember my awesome childhood during Halloween. I now have a child with one on the way and just watching this video brings be so much joy because of how much thought you are putting into making Halloween rememberable for the kids. The magic feels like it's lessening every year but you're the only one who can channel it and bring it back.
