Haha I used to get stoned and zone off while I would do my school assignments. The ongoing tracks helped put me in a trance that contributed to help me focus. .
Anything more and it would be jazz.
This are mine, 2
This is the sound of the '80's English lysergic underground before acid house.
In other words, when it still sounded good. Noice.
That long version of Rollercoaster is the reason music exists
3 chord progressions-OK. 2 chord progressions-Better!
1 chord progression-BEST!!
A little goes a long way

I adore this album...memories of being a disaffected 17 year old alone in my room with a packet of Marlboro Marlboro and a bottle of scrumpy with my "For all the f*cked up children of the world, we give you the Spacemen 3" poster above my bed, chomping on a Tesco's vegeburger. Priceless ^_^
+Tim Sully Actually, youve prefectly described me right now. Only, I dont have a poster of Spacemen3, but poster of Jimi Hendrix hanging above my bed!
Kill vegans
Brief and concise I suppose…
My butt was feeling very lovely today, very lovely indeed.
Mines was quite itchy today unfortunately.
This is the kind of music that can never be played back loud enough. I want to hear this on a PA system the size of a planet.
'Would you negotiate with Hitler?': Polish PM slams Macron for Putin talks
Totally agree play so loud your eyes bleed and your teeth fall ou.
I've just taken up residency on your moon and I can barely hear the music, would you mind turning it up a little piece? .. ta!
i used to drop 2hits of da windowpane put this on my Walkman and skate(board) naked in the moonlight. Thank you SonicBOOM&J.Spaceman you expanded, twisted&distorted my suburban reality into creeping woods, dragon clouds, buddhas face in the concrete minioliths&the joy of grooving my OWN WAY-THANKS 2 ALL HEADS!!!!!!!!! I like the sound that Spacemen 3 developed on this album. It sounds like a wonderful combination of The Stooges, The Velvet Underground, early Pink Floyd & 60s psychedelia.

Thank you
Not sure about the drugs part considering they took heroine if you are talking psychedelics yeah sure
One of the stonest albums ever.
oh yes
I physically cannot get enough of this version of Walkin' With Jesus.
I hammer that shit down the mainline, baby, you know how we does ha ha, feels so good
oh thats dangerous - listening to a song too many times, makes the song kinda boring over time ( i did it too )
psychologically, emotionally, spiritually, i am there. the whole lp a cure.
Thanks Kim Gordon, didn't know them.
I found them the same way...no idea how I could have missed out on these guys since this would have totally been in my wheel house at the time
exact the same to me
Same.
Same here
I live down the road from Rugby and this is my 1st time proper listening to a whole Spaceman 3 album. Many thanks for this. It's on repeat!!
I love the 22 minute version of the 13th Floor Elevators "Roller Coaster", a psychedelic head-battering classic !
The soundtrack to my dissolute youth. Wish they could get over their animosity and reissue this musical medicine. One of the best.
If you are ever feeling low - this is a great album to listen to loud! Doctors should prescribe prescriptions of Spacemen 3 -and the necessary Spacemen 3 drugs of course.
We should just get rid of doctors, and save that money for turntables or other audio equipment. They're pretty much worthless hacks, crammed into the pockets of the big pharma mafia, anyhow.
Not for eveybody but yes. Def for me!
Sound Of Confusion (Full album) - Spacemen 3 1013am 5.4.22 this is fine quaker rock psych interaction... and it is an amazing piece of work. i seriously think it should be part and parcel of any psych rock revival they are planning to instigate... never saw it play live - which is a damn shame but... saw his nibs play solo. he is a purveyor of the old moccasin.
What drugs, as a matter of interest? Acid?
Sound and Vision is what you want left in your end. I agree. Maybe just a little hit of something else. pay to play.
' Rollercoaster ' 17 minutes - 1 Chord - drone heaven !!!
they were definitely their own, but they might've listened to the Velvet Underground a coupla times
read in music magazine once.....a little album review and it wrote! inluences...VU, heroine and jesus! made me chuckle still to this day :)
@@mattjammy9884 one that made me laugh was when they said "love" i was trying to work out if they meant the emotion or the band haha
Open your mind and let it come through.
This album is tattooed to my mind.

First time listening to this. I don't think I'll ever be the same...
I love there eargasmic sound and there absolute bravery to include there love for the REASON FOR THE SEASON Yeshua. I'm sure to there future detriment of what could of easily been there mainstream success in what is truly Babylon a.k.a Hollywood/the music industrial complex... But who cares! They are reaching people for his glory and still they real rock! I love that Spaceman3 didn't care enough about 💰💰⚖️💷💸🪙💰💰 to fuck off and sellout. Thank you!!! You guys are still one of my favorites on the merit of keeping it real and in your own unique sharing the good news of the TRUTH of what Jesus is and what he means to you, us and our salvation! Stay believers and stay faithful and I love 💕 you! See you blokes in the kingdom!! May Yeshua continue to guide you, open your hearts and minds and help you do the same for all that appreciate your cool talent. 💋 MUAH 😘

Soooo true

i can feel my heart beating to the rhythms of the music, i think i can live for another day
I am sure it will be one of the Influences of The Brian Jonestown Massacre as well Velvet Underground! ...and as well as Velvet Underground and The Stooges, seem to be influences for this band! I'm perfectly fine with this!
Anton Newcombe of BJM absolutely never hid his devotion to Spacemen3, he wrote a couple songs dedicated to them, and Will Carruthers (ex-Spacemen 3) toured with them
@@cyyytr0n I need to listen to more BJM. What would you reccomend to a fan of Spacemen 3. I know Anenome and that album that sounds like shoegaze
@@agdgdgwngo their style changes so often...
If you like this a lot, I'd recommend Methodrone or My Bloody Underground.
I'm partial to the more purely psychedelic stuff, so I always go for Their Satanic Majesties 2nd Request.
Honestly they're all classics, and Anton is still doin his thing today. Even my lowest two (And This is Our Music... and Who Killed Sgt. Pepper), they're still great.
This and the workings of Loop were my hazy late teens......
"Three chords = good...two chords = better...one chord = best." = The S3 Credo
Kim Gordon knows good music. Thank god for her.
Brilliant. Just brilliant.
What a band! One of my favourites the only band the comes close are the velvets. Please play some Spacemen 3 when we see at SWG3 in May 2022 - love you to pieces - Lisa Glasgow Yeah haaaaaaa xxxx
"Hey Man" is so badass
i feel old.. as a spacemen 3 fan the bjm was a great gift..
Spacemen 3 were right there with the Velvets ,.... !! Everything they ever did was masterpiece level shit !!!
masterpiece!
Amen
Stoning after listening to this album.....
Sorts me out. Always. Every time.
gotta love that 'durty geetar' sound.. :)
What a debut album. They really wrote the rule book for shoe gazing, but came much before it.
You cannot compare them to Brian Jones Town. BJT owe a huge huge debt to this band and others who pioneered this sound.
Just like S3 owe and acknowledge a debt to bands that came before them,
No chance of a reunion in the next 150 years, so we have to make do with this genius.
I think you meant Brian Jonestown Massacre (BJM)
Ahhh Acronyms-Yes I did. :) Point doesn't change though.
James Curry Well, BJM aren't only about shoegazing, Take It From The Man!, Thank God For Mental Illness, or even the most recent Aufheben and Revelation have completely different styles
But yeah, this album clearly paved the way for shoegazing !
frareanvidal
And much of Spacemen 3's subsequent output, to this 1st album, was not so shoegazey either. Anton & co. have definitely kept touring & recording for much longer than Pierce/Kember & co. were able to and have been more diverse for sure.
marcbythesea7 Both S3 and BJM are more pioneers of drone than shoe gaze IMO. Back in the day in SF, long before the word 'drone' was used, I remember just thinking they were neo-psych bands (and plenty of 13th Floor Elevators nods here).
Beautiful Noise 🎶
Rollercoaster has this special "13th Floor Elevators" effect. Nice ... overheard over 20 years ago
59:40 Set the controls for the heart of the sun, set the controls for the heart of the sun :P
Check out "Why Couldn't I See" by S3 on Recurring and then listen again to Supersonic by BJM. Anton lifted the groove from the first song but re-covered it in the process, which is a common Spacemen 3 trick you can hear on this album and Perfect Prescription as well on quite a few songs.
True Psychedelia under musical
reasons and will.!!
GOOD music.!!
i have some their CD and cassette.
TueM. Japan Mercy!!
My alltime heroes
classic album; one of my all-time faves; thanks for posting.

Sound Of Confusion (Full album) - Spacemen 3 1044am 5.4.22 you probably haven't heard this - at all!!!... the company sign across the road from the chippy in rawtenstall has warped into this font refer to album design.. and i thought: they should make a font akin to that...o, they have.. many years ago... and... ahhh well.. i knew it reminded me of something. excellent!!!!
😮😊
Everytime I come back. Spacing me out. Amazing
I’ve spent many a blissed out time listening to their catalog. Pretty much all I listened to for a year ‘89/‘90. Just wish their stuff could be properly released in the expanded editions that they’re due.
Thank you god, from you first song many bands comes on this earth
One of the best albums from one of the best bands.
Pure brilliance - happy memories - thank you!
"Little Doll" appeared originally on The Stooges first album in 1969.
This album saved a generation. I don't think you'll believe this but it did. DON'T STOP NOW!!!!

A gift from God.
One of my favourite albums! I remember exactly where I was when I first heard this - listening to Losing touch walking along the beach in Blackpool ;-)
The guitarist seemingly in love with his distortion device - which is good!
*Laughs in Kevin Shields
@@agdgdgwngo According to Sonic Boom, MBV changed their sound after playing with them.
'them' being the Spacemen
good for my soul
I first heard this in the Butthole Surfers' van, about 8 am, after a night of New York City drugged debauchery/wonder. "What is THIS?!?!", I asked King.
Nothing was the same afterwards.
Sounds about right
That literally never happened
Id believe this.
It's like the fuzzy tones of Earth meets the repetition of Joy Division
Amazing Album!! Great Band!!!!
This album is a fantastic introduction to all things cool.
Where did all the cowboys, I mean, rebels go?
Just gotta love the Spacemen! So very out there! Hey man!
this band and the music is just way too excellent and unique - in 94 never came across a copy but we did hear of this alot and today you find it all through you tube if you need to search it out- cool songs

chicken or the egg...just saying. The brother Spacemen's were born 11-=29=1965. this is old people music?
BJM clearly influenced by these guys to the point of direct riff rips.
A friend of mine who I met this summer, told me about this band and I'm so grateful he did it. I wish I knew him earlier so he would have suggested me this amazing group.
Once I tried to learn to play guitar. One of the few riffs I could more or less reproduce was the one from Losing Touch with My Mind, with a mini-amp in my room :D
just brilliant
One of the best albums ever made
Thank you, Kim!
the sound of perfection..
Obra maestra de las música.
God loves Spacemen 3
He tuned their amps good! :D
