    Just stumbled upon this last night and already have my brisket in the slow cooker. Its been about 2 hours and my place smells really good. Glad I found this recipe as it is simple and requires only...trigger warning...4 ingredients. Most of the other ones had a bunch of ingredients and because I live in Costa Rica now it would require trips to different stores...so I'm very thankful for the simplicity

    Thanks for your post.. I also followed your recipe and made first time ever my own beef Brisket using Crockpot. It was easy to follow as a first timer. Thank you so much.

    Trying this recipe now, I also used a Dutch spice for Hachee and instead of water I used beef broth.

    I always cook brisket in beer. So I think I’ll sub beer for the water. Never done it in a crockpot. Gonna try this! Thanks!

    I would add water before Lipton soup and mustard.

    What kind of Lipton Soup mix did you use? It looks like onion, but I want to be sure. And ... did you let the brisket rest?

    • @LeighAnneWilkes
      @LeighAnneWilkes  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes, it was the onion. It is so tender when you pull it out of the slow cooker, you don't really need to let it rest like you would taking it off the grill or smoker.

      Thanks. I put onion soup mix in all my crockpot roasts, but I've never tried brisket.

    I think the only thing I would add would be BBQ sauce. Other than that, this is perfect for what I want to do.

    My husband used to smoke foods & brisket was one he'd smoke. I've been thinking about trying it in the Crock-Pot like you do. Have you tried the slow cooker liners when cooking brisket?

    I don't get it I tried every type of Crock-Pot brisket and it's always tough and chewy I hardly ever get to hear if it's on hot or it's on low when cooking on Crock-Pot or the hours

    • @LeighAnneWilkes
      @LeighAnneWilkes  Před 2 lety +1

      Cooking it on low is what I recommend for a more tender meat. If it is tough you may be overcooking it.

    If I'm using a larger brisket 6lbs do I need to cook longer or is 7-8 hours still ok?

    • @LeighAnneWilkes
      @LeighAnneWilkes  Před 2 lety

      It will probably take more like 8 hours, the upper end of the time
