  • This week Aaron, my son and I are doing a product review on my Timbuk2 Commute messenger bag. I own a large and Aaron owns a medium. We demonstrate how the different laptops fit in the sleeves. I also looked at my original Classic messenger bag and the reasons I bought the Commute bag.

This was excellent. Watched the whole video. I wanted this exact medium vs large Timbuk2 deep dive. Thanks.

I have the same 15” laptop, and I wondered whether it would fit in the commuter. Thanks so much for saving me the hassle of ordering and returning it!! Great video!!

thanks so much for this comparison, searched the whole network to find a comparison of M and L sizes, there is no data except your video. Great comparison.

This is exactly what I was needing! Thank you for the video, the Dell Latitude seems to be the standard in work laptops and I travel a lot and finding a bag for those quick weekends home has been a problem. Especially going through the airport. Great info and detailed well, thank you.

I was looking into getting a Timbuk2 commute messenger for a long time, but always delayed getting one because I wanted to see the size difference. This video was really helpful. Thanks!

Great review! I have been debating between the medium and the large for my MacBook Pro 15” and iPad Pro 12.9”. Definitely going with the large version. Thanks for posting!

I'm hoping you can answer a question for me about the waterproofing of the bag. Is the zippered laptop holder section also as waterproof as Timbuk2's typical flap? I have an older Single Speed Timbuk2 bag that I'm looking to replace and ride through rain often on my commutes so the whole bag has to be able to keep everything dry, especially the laptop section for obvious reasons.

Thanks for the comparison. How does the commuter messenger feel on the back with a laptop in it? Anymore comfortable than the classic messenger with the same laptop?

Very helpful information. Good video. But what would make me watch your videos again, is better lighting. I could hardly see the inside of the bags, and general lighting was not what other "great video makers" lighting is. Otherwise, really nice review of these messenger bags.
