I found out about Yabby You in 2023, great to find a Reggae artist who puts Jesus first and has pure scriptual lyrics . He is singing yabby yabby yoou with the angels now. Thanks also to King Tubby's dub mixes, Michael Prophet and so on... many great artists of God❤

Yabby you jesus dread 1972 1977 a must and a great one to have in any reggae collection on L.P. or C.D. the thing is I think you can go near anywhere in reggae and there be a great singer, artist, producer, studio that's what makes reggae a Joy and a Gift to all from jah and god. God bliss them all for there great music that will live on thow time.

I thought maybe VP would have bought the rights & reissued , but with the expanded 'Conquering Lion' & 'Walls of Jerusalem ' sets most of it has been made available..

'Chant down babylon'/'walls of Jerusalem ' is one side 6 vocals & the dubs on the other.
'Yabby you/Michael prophet in dub '+ 'dub station' ( scientist mixes) all are worth having ..& there are many more .

..👀💯.. In 2005 in fhe South of France ( I live in the South)...I was fortunate to spend 4-5 days in the Company of Vivian Jackson...He had his Helper.A Nurse wirh him..
He didn't speak a lot but was aware of the Communication going on around him...We went shopping...He plsyed at the Bagnol Sur Ceze Reggae Festival,...A Memorable occasion,... Obviously ill health had taken its toll ..
I also saw Junior Byles at the same Festival s few years later...

i've first heard of him in madlib's 2nd quasimoto album 'the further adventures of lord quas' and later in various kingtubby compilations. not sure, if on madlib's 'blunted in the bombshelter' mixtape, but only a few weeks ago have i fallen in love with his music. a true prophet who had understood and preached the christian way by travel and enduring hardship, imho.

I definitely think Yabby You is one of the best in Reggae if not the best. The Jesus Dread compilation is great. I accidentally bought two of the same volume of it on vinyl. Whoops! For fans like myself (in the UK) it's worth giving credit to the label 'Blood & Fire' ,that from the mid 90s reissued hard to find classic recordings like 'Prophesy of Dub' , 'Deliver me from my enemies' & the incredible 47 track compilation 'Jesus Dread '72-'77 ' .....& although they stopped trading around 15 years ago 'Pressure Sounds' have helped keep the music available with Reissues of 'Walls of Jerusalem ' , 'Conquering Lion ' ,'Beware Dub' & various compilations ....

I got to know Yabby u through my brother Kingpin they were good bredren in the later stage of his life my brother built a sound system, whitch he played at Yabby's ninenight in Longwood Clarendon i purchest the sound from him and still have it today it's called Black Magic.

I love the Walls of Jerusalem album. It changed my perception of Reggae's relationship to Rastafari and the potential for the doctrine of Rastafarianism to exceed some of the dogmatic issues that perpetuate inequality, between men and women for example....we are all Children of Jah
