the original friday the 13th is set in NJ and its sequel has Jason living out in the forest in his hut. I think the pine barrens go through the crystal lake area within the fiction, and Jason lived out in his hut in them.

I'm talking about the fictional version of Friday the 13th's location.. Not the real world. If you're talking real world then every sequel was filmed in a different state, yet set in the same place.
@@Tchernobog I agree, it's fictional, but Crystal Lake does not run through the Pines and the movie makes no inference to that. Either way, their's nothing like smell of pine needles baking in the sand and the smell of 2 stroke exhaust on the Mullica.

It was through Tracker school property it was a caretaker program that I took at their primitive camp so it was legit.

Totally illegal to cut down live trees and live in the state forests. Maybe this is private property rather than state forest land?
