She has it all, a crystalline, resonant, powerful voice with some of the cleanest transitions I have ever heard and flawless technique. Must see and listen to "Fly Like a Bird" a Mariah Carey cover she did while in COVID lockdown, a duet with Regine Velasquez (Asian's Songbird) doing a Mariah Carey Melody, an older cover of Whitney. Houston's "Run to You" and covers of "Secret Love Song" and "Never Enough" on the Wish 107.5 bus.

Hey, Jared and Jordan, that's a great reaction and review of Morissette's Akin Ka Na Lang 🥰 . I like your approach that you first listened to the full song, savoring every note, reacting only with your facial expressions and those "hmms" and :"ahhs".. and made the review afterwards, replaying the landmark parts of the song to show your points. That pause after the first whistle note is understandable, as most of us did the same anyway when we first heard the song 😊.
In this masterpiece of a song, Mori was able to showcase her talent and her arsenal of skills: the beautiful tone in her voice, she sounds angelic, like a Disney princess, her clear and crisp enunciation and diction, then her vocal squeaks and growls, her signature techniques, which help convey the emotions of the song, and that beautiful whistle note, it gives me goosebumps every time, then her belting the high notes which are full and rounded, not shrilly and annoying to the ears, and her amazing breath control, doing a 14-second long belting with runs which seems effortless for her, and finally that soft and sweet sounding whistle note at the end, the sound of The Asia's Phoenix, as she is also known.
And I like that you also featured Kiko Salazar, the writer and composer of Akin Ka Na Lang. It's actually my first time to see this video of him. You are really thorough in your review, you are impressive. Now I appreciate more this song (which is my most favorite Mori's song) after knowing the background info. It was a well-written piece of composition, from Kiko's own experience, and it was really meant for Mori to interpret because she was "so good, so magical, she has the vocal resonance, the range and the whole aura," she was the perfect fit for the song. The collaboration of the artistry of Kiko and Mori produced this iconic song, which now has over 150 million views, reacted to and reviewed by hundreds, some even made covers, and loved by many, it made the mark for both of them, especially Morissette ♥.
Again, thank you so much for that awesome reaction and review. I will be waiting for your next Morissette review, hopefully it's gonna be "Never Enough" from the film "The Greatest Showman" where you will feature both the original singer Loren Allred and the cover by Morissette, also on the Wish Bus. 🥰

Thanks, guys! This is the best review about any song I have ever heard, especially on Morissette. Then you showing the Kiko interview really put depth on it. Yes, you nailed it, she can anything and has done ballads, pop, musical theater, movie tracks, jazz, rap, multi-lingual songs. She does it all and she does each excellently. She can perform in any genre. Her 5 octaves of range, near-forever breath control, warm tonality, technical skills, and emotional story-telling make her singing a unique experience. For a great change of pace, try her Wish Bus performance of "Never Enough" from the Greatest Showman movie. She does a number of killer duets as well, notably "You Are The Reason" by Callum Scott, "A Whole New World" from Disney's Aladdin. You will continue to be amazed. Oh, yes "Fly Like A Bird" demonstrates true vocal versatility.

Awesome reaction...Morisette is such a versatile artist. She's not only a talented singer, a songwriter and a true performer. You should watch her videos when she was invited to Korea's Asian Song Festivals 2017 2018 (in Seoul, S. Korea). She sang in Korean a very popular K-Drama song.

Been years to listen her own songs, cover, rendition and etc. But she never fail me to hear her angelic voice, glad to reach her generation today. BTW if you wanted to hear her long whistle tone? Please do watch in MYX LIVE

    Hey guys
So what do you think so far? Was I right? “Once in a generation talent” “Absolutely astounding voice”
I first saw her three years ago and back then I was even behind the curve. I can’t help but wonder how in that time she has not become the worlds most popular singer? I listen to the radio today and think Morrissette is sooooo much more talented than anyone I hear on a day to day basis.
Hopefully you guys will continue to spotlight her transcendental talent.
Toward that end, give “Never Enough” on the Wish bus a look.
I look forward to watching. Have a nice 4th of July holiday.

*Hello J&J!* *Why is Morissette a generational talent?* Because she is a *throwback* artist who really worked on *the basics* of her craft. Case in point, please listen to the roundness, fullness and resonance of Morissette's belts, starting at 17:12. *Over 90% of female vocalists today would have sounded shrill, thin, and constricted if they ever attempted those belts, as if they are pushing their sound thru a thin straw.* Morissette is an "old school" artist who actually worked on maximizing the resonating space of her vocal tract. *The result? The harmonics of her voice maintains a velvety richness and warmth even when belting high.* Also, her voice is capable of producing a strong second harmonic that is an octave above the note her vocal cords are producing. It's strong in proportion to her fundamental tone and it gives her voice an individual purity. This is what the all-time greats used to work on. The basics. *They worked on voice quality.* Instead, what we have in pop music today are underdeveloped voices who have 10% of the skills that Morissette possesses, yet they can get away with it because of auto-tune and dubbing. They focus on melismas and vocal runs to impress, yet ignore the foundational principles of training the chest voice and maximizing the openness and resonating space of their vocal instrument.
This old performance of "Akin Ka Na Lang" will always be legendary. Please keep in mind that Morissette is 26 years old now. Her technique is much improved and much more refined. Less use of the whistle tone, but more maturity in the lower range of her voice.
For your next reaction, it would be great if you can check out her WishBus performance of "Never Enough". Thanks 💐♥️🤝

You guys are plainly amazing. I made a shotout on my FB page. I've probably watched like 30 reactors to this video. How the two of you went on a deep dive incorporating subs. I'm living for it. I was already half, annoyed when Google translated it wrongly, but you guys kept on and respected the song, the artist, the language and the poet behind it. I thank you both. You are one of the best reactors I've probably seen by far. Amazing stuff. Morisette is a force to be reckoned with and we are just proud having her be a Filipino. For foreigners even relate to something they barely understood just goes to show that talent supersedes language race or geography barriers. Do KZ next her rolling in the deep.. and PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, DO THE SAME SUBTITLING ON HER RAP. Every single reactors were mind-blown, but no one bothered checking out what the rap said.
When she said in her rap " in Filipino" -- (to share, Filipino is the national language, but it's actually Tagalog, which is a regional dialect, only cause Tagalogs are based on the capital. But we have artists here also who rock the Visayan Language (Dialect)
But.. in her rap she said something like "You chose to mess with me, wrong move.. Of all the people not me" -- well this is already an interpretation, not direct translation but means the same thing. --- ALL Commentors I've seen only reacted on the speed of her rap. NO ONE bothered what she said in our language and how that lyrical choice elevated that performance. I think the two of you are cut off for that. This is my first time on your page. Maybe you did this already. Let me circle back and try and search if you did a review of her 2018 performance on your page. -- Thanks!
