Simple and soulful is the best. You don't need fancy chords to sing with your instrument. Clean and smooth, no mumbo jumbo.

Man… a year later and I still come back to this one sometimes just because, but every time I get new gear, this is the track I end up on when I’m ready to jam. Trying out my Schecter PT Special today. That P90 in the neck sounded so pretty I was like “oh I know what I need to play this too…” I wasn’t wrong. Anyways, just wanted to say that. I dug the new one in G minor for today too but I was too caught up in the new guitar to say so at the time 😂

Note to self: try the harmonic tremolo on this one when you pick it up.
Did this thing where I tried to dial in the Fender Vibratone sound Stevie uses on Cold Shot with just a couple pedals. JHS Unicorn on Wet (vibrato) mode and using an expression pedal to ramp along with a JHS tidewater tremolo set percussive causes a warbling throb with the bass frequency that created a sense of movement. Anyways, just was playing with it this morning and was like “bet this would sound good with that sweet soul r&b track you like so much.” Pal, it was the sexiness.
Fender American Performer Stratocaster (I swear I’m done buying guitars for a while) in to JHS Unicorn V2 > EHX OD Glove > JHS Tidewater > slightly dirty gain channel of Fender Hot Rod Deluxe IV + no tremors from my brain injury this morning = pretty sure I came.
