  • Here is our test flight with the Horizon Hobby's new Hangar-9 Fokker D.VII model. Josh did an amazing job with his aerobatic 3D flight patterns!
    The German Fokker D.VII is frequently cited as one of the best fighter aircraft of the First World War. But its story of inception is what makes it a supremely interesting subject. During the latter half of 1917, the Allies had regained air superiority over the Western Front with the S.E. 5 and the SPAD fighters. To counter this, the German government invited aircraft manufacturers to submit prototype single-seat fighter designs for evaluation in Berlin in January 1918. The design with the best overall performance would be awarded a production contract. The Fokker D VII was the winner, earning an initial contract for 400 units. The Fokker D.VII was easy to maneuver, strong and agile and as a result was highly respectable by the enemy. The D.VII could "hang on its propeller" and attack upwards while other aircraft would stall and fly away. The performance of the Fokker D.VII was superior to any other aircraft used by the triumphant power. As a result, Germany had to surrender all the airplanes after the end of World War I. A total of 3,300 DVII were produced and over 700 were in service after the war ended.

    Well one thing is for sure, if it was going to have a structural failure, it would have during this flight. I just bought one for myself to go along with my Busa Tri-plane and my Busa Sopwith Pup.

    now all you need is a Sopwith camel to chase that Fokker. do some aerial combat maneuvers

  • @Iseestupidpeopleeveryday

    Nice flying.. i like the idea of the DA60.. that motor isn’t that heavy.. how much lead up front to get a good CG..? Thats for info. Helps us plan our builds..

    • @airmanbybee
      @airmanbybee Před 5 lety +2

      No lead up front it's a tad tail heavy for a scale plane but for 3d stuff it's fun but makes it super hard to land

    • @americanspirit8932
      @americanspirit8932 Před 4 lety +2

      It's not a motor it's an engine Motors are electric engines run on combustion fuel gas nitro why do people always use the wrong word

    • @RC-Flight
      @RC-Flight Před 2 lety +1

      @@americanspirit8932 ya people calling items by the wrong name drives me nuts too. Like when people call glow fuel “nitro”. Nitro is only a small percentage like 10-20% you don’t see people calling it castor fuel do you and there is usually as much or in most cases more castor oil in the glow fuel then nitro. Hell you can easily run a glow plug engine on zero nitro% fuel.

      @RC-Flight Před 2 lety +1

      There was absolutely nothing scale in the way he was flying that airplane. Scale would have been a lot slower and milder, NO 3D.
