  • For seniors needing assistance to stay at home as they age (“aging in place”), alternatives such as adult day health programs, home care through VNA services and private care are available.
Older adults without any health issues can remain living safely at home; others can find assistance for “aging in place” from several sources. One way is attending an adult day health program, with door-to-door transportation to a setting for meals, activities, social interaction and general supervision. Another avenue is using a Visiting Nurse Association (VNA), which works with physicians to give patients with chronic conditions rehab, nursing and social services to manage them. A third option is hiring a home health aide for companionship, homemaker assistance and more. Care can change when a person’s needs change.
