I know Guanlong is not a raptor. It's a member of the tyrannosaurid family from the jurassic period.

@DinosaurDrawer obviously this is fiction so if spino could give trex a run for its money and still survive i highly doubt tabo could beat it

@DinosaurDrawer another thing you should note even if this was in real life there would be no competitin the spino is simply to big and would either scare off or kill it with its massive claws
@DinosaurDrawer dont forget that spino is too tall for the tarbo to reach its neck anyway it would have to jump and obviously its to bi to do that and the spinos claw were used for catching fish yes bu also First the jaw is not weak. Compared to T-Rex it is, but they do not share the same type of ecosystem, location or time period, so Rex is not a factor. Carcharodontosaurus was the dominant land predator of that region and time. Its jaw also was not as strong as a T-Rex, it was evolved more from Allosaurids and thus used flat slicing teeth, to cut and bleed rather than using a bone crushing bite.
As for the sail, that is still debatable. Given how the neural spines are developed I’m in the camp that theorizes that it had a hump of fat like a camel or bison rather than a sail. Going with convergent evolution if you look at the spines of certain bovids and camels that have tall neuralspines, they look nearly identical to those of the two large Spinosaurids that have them, Spinosaurus and Oxalaia. So, to me, if anything the hump adds weight and mass to the already large animal. Frankly, to me, even on that large an animal, a sail could be more harmful than beneficial. It would make the animal too vulnerable along its back with vertebrae spines sticking up so high with only sail like flesh around them. They could break too easily and that would be the end of Spinosaurus. Instead a hump of fat could provide food storage for the dry season, would require the neural spine bone support and in turn provide protection of the spines.
Indeed Spinosaurus would have been lumbering about on land much more than Carcharodontosaurus as it was a mostly quadrupedal animal with short legs with flat feet, but nasty claws on the hands. In the water it was probably as graceful as a crocodile.
The only real threat to Spinosaurus was another Spinosaurus or Carcharodontosaurus. But Carcharodontosaurus was a land predator and Spinosaurus was aquatic and their territories would only overlap at the shores of rivers and lakes. Either one could avoid the other by either going further away from the water and inland or cruising out into the lake or river in the case of Spinosaurus.
If Spinosaurus is scavenging and a Carcharodontosaurus comes upon him and wants a stab at the meal….well. Spinosaurus, even at conservative measures is already ten feet longer than Carcharodontosaurus, maybe more. Neither dinosaur is thought to have muscle mass like T-Rex, but the sheer size of Spinosaurus should intimidate any sensible animal unless it is starving.
It is possible Spinosaurus could still rear up on its hind legs, though that could be debated. There is not enough rear leg material discovered to put together a complete picture. Regardless, it has a snaky neck with a long head and a bite that could do damage and very sharp claws on its hands. No predator wants to get injured as there were no vets with anti-biotics back then.
If it came to an out and out fight, the sheer size of Spinosaurus, including its long and probably heavy tail, would likely win the day, but Carcharodontosaurus could win too, by outmaneuvering and getting in 2 or 3 slashing bites. If Carcharo got a good bite out of Spino’s neck, it might be all over for Spinosaurus.
In the end these clashes were probably not that common and I’d bet Spinosaurus would be too big and intimidating for a Carcharodontosaurus to bother with. this is in its ecosysytem and also they would never meet and im not a fan boy i just shared my idea that I think would be cool, i could careless what you think if its cool or not.
