DIY Jazzmaster Part 5 - Hardware Installation

  • In this video I install all hardware (except electronics and the tremolo) for the Jazzmaster and add shielding tape to the body cavity. I had a larger video completed including the complete build but it ended up running too long so there will be two uploads close together.

    Excellent job, sorry for my bad English, but, what's the name of the tool that you use with your drill to guide the hole straight?

      Usually see these labeled just as "drill guides" in the US, so your English is pretty good!

    Fantastically helpful, thank you! Quick question...I've had to plug my bridge thimble holes for redrilling as they'd had TOM post inserts in them and I'm reverting to traditional ones for a Staytrem, any tips on getting the new drill holes aligned properly? Thanks

      I'm not sure if TOM posts are the same exact spacing as a JM bridge, if so could just center on the peg you filled in with. I'd definitely use a drill press and start with a small pilot hole and measure really carefully against a template for that though.
