How do you feel about Cleo X Frankie? Do you think there's still a chance for Draculaura X Clawdeen? WIll you/have you been watching the animated series on Nickelodeon? LMK Below!
I love this new couple, I feel like we need to see them creating their own gloom bloom garden on Merge Gardens â€
I understand Cleo, Deuce and Frankie are entirely different, but honestly? I agree with the new characters point, It shouldn't have been them. I think It's so random for a Franken-monster and a mummy to be together. Cleo and Deuce have historical connection, which is why they meshed well in G1. However, Frankie manages to be friends with everyone and Cleo wasn't all that fleshed out so I think they took that opportunity to put them together. It works but like I said, new characters would've been a lot better imo. Like what about Marisol and Skelita? We all know chupacabra is apart of Latin culture and Skelita being apart of mexican heritage fits really well. It also creates conflict because Latin families have generational pressure and being gay is a big taboo.
I just feel it could've been a lot more than just grabbing two main characters and creating their personalities to then mesh them together.
Being a bisexual boy. i love it and find it cute. Frist time i saw it , it warm my heart
Frankie and cleo this could be a new love story or ship or even both It was a big romantic surprise for me but when i first found out.i was like this could a good ship and But it's cute, I can see this love story happening
Send me your tag so I can visit your garden
I personally like Frankie x Cleo in G3. But I will still always love Cleo x Deuce in G1. đ
Fr, like it IS possible to like both gens, you wonât get crucified for liking both generations đ and while personally Iâll always love gen 1 more than any other gen including all itâs OG ships like Cleo x Deuce or just platonic relationships, thereâs really no harm in the new relationships in G3, it really isnât THAT bad though like I stated, Iâll always love G1 more than any other gen đ
I know because I've grown to actually like G3, after finding out Monster High is a multiverse, but nothing will top G1. G1 is the goat. đđđ
@@KristinHTF Yeah, G3 definitely feels more like an alternative universe of G1 so itâs not MEANT to resemble every aspect of G1 Monster high which I feel like a lot of people (including me) got confused about.
Exactly, this
Exactly! And I will always support that statement till the day I die.
Since they changed Cleo's and Deuce's characters in G3, I didn't really feel like there was a lot of potential between them. Frankie and Cleo works better and I'm really happy to see it.
Fr g3 Cleo and duece have not had enough interactions to just start dating out of the blue
hi I really like your videos
so whenâs the collabđ
Didnât expect to see them here đ

Initially I was like "WTF?" Not because I'm homophobic or anything as I'm bi, but as a fan of G1, their characters just don't work romantically in my head. But then I remembered that a lot, if not all of the characters have new personalities in G3 so upon further investigation, I'm all for it. They definitely work and I can't wait to see where it goes!!
THANK YOU!!! you don't know how annoying it is to see people complaining about the ship just because it wasn't the case in G1, when that's a REBOOT! and rboots are NEVER like the original and have a lot of changes! for better or for worse. and for G3 I think it was ok! we should simply respect that this new generation will be very different from G1, seriously, I found a person who says that any MH fan who likes G3 is brain dead, practically calling us retarded! it's this kind of hate and toxicity that makes me disgusted with this fandom...
there's a phrase for it, "genoner". is practically a first generation fan of a franchise that treats any other version like trash and treat the fans of the new versions with disrespect and discrimination! I've seen this in the transformers and TMNT communitys, and now Monster high is suffering from the same problem and it makes me sad...
same here changing a characters orientation is definitely the most idiotic most stupidest most asinine most useless and more pointless idea that any tv or movie producer, writer or director could ever think of plus I would be fine with this kind of stupid propaganda if these were humans in the real world not this kind of stuff is something that you are not supposed to put into a cartoon I mean why is it ok to put vulgar brain poisoning propaganda when nobody will even bother trying to put stunningly lovely females or Tex Avery style wacky humors into CGI and I am so sick and tired of putting up with it.

Iâm an outsider to monster high, but I think itâs neat to have a canon nblw relationship in a show for little girls- the show has done a lot already to push normalizing topics like autism for the new younger audience and the aspect of normalizing a nblw relationship is just as swell.
158 likes and no replys? Lemme fix that!
The show isn't just for girls tho
@@k.c.hatter5198 it is not, but it is the target demographic. Again either way the show is for children, but itâs primary target is fashion dolls for a younger female audience. If youâre like a guy or any gender and you also like the show, thatâs cool! But the point is that is what the show is aimed at for a general audience standpoint.
@Blueness1230 âIâm fine with a show for a younger audience bringing normalization to a marginalized group of people, but I draw the line at a show for a younger audience brining normalization to a marginalized group of peopleâ
I literally never brought in transphobia into this, youâre just imagining people to be upset at. If you wanna give a damn about children being preyed upon, thereâs a few hundred to thousands of cases on priests SA-ing children to worry about first.
While the representation is great the fact that clawdeen was straightified and Cleo was made into a lesbian rubs me the wrong way.
as a bisexual woman (with a strong preference for women) I found myself attracted to so many female characters as a kid without ever realizing it was attraction. Iâd never even heard the word âgayâ until hillary duff told people in commercials not to use it as an insult. I wouldâve absolutely loved to have something like this growing up to show me what I was feeling and how itâs something I was allowed to feel. young me always thought I just really wanted to be their friend, it wouldâve meant a lot to me if Iâd been able to find out about my sexuality sooner and see that it was indeed possible for a girl to like a girl and a guy to like a guy. Iâm happy that kids now get to have that, regardless of what characters they chose to represent it.
We love Hillary Duff for that
I feel the same, although I never understood the meaning of attraction as a child and during adolescence. i've always been shipped with some boys at school but i never really saw them as attractive or romantically. besides the fact that i complimented more women my whole life, i never found men or guys attractive, but i also never had a real "crush" (i thought i did on a neighbor of mine but later i realized i was just being r*tarded. i'm autistic so i guess it's ok for me to use that word when it's about me TwT") so imagine my surprise when I realized I was asexual!
I had never heard of this sexuality until I started using the internet, and I discovered that you may not feel romantic or sexual attraction! I felt like I was different for a long time and I finally got the answer! my family still doesn't understand even after I explained it to them (i don't believe they have an "internalized homophobia" as they are not good people, they just don't quite understand it yet) my sister is very supportive and knows about my sexuality, she is pro lgbt and that makes me very happy and almost emotional! So I understand what it's like not knowing you're queer until you grow up.
same, though as a trans man (prior to identifying as trans). I feel like if I saw this when I was younger, like with any other gay rep, I wouldn't have felt so isolated from my peers until I found my little gay group in high school : ) Honestly I love the Cleo and Frankie relationship and really wish it was there when I was a kid instead of the mass amount of heterosexual relationships I always had to watch through as a kid and the idea that I would have to end up in a relationship with a guy as a girl. Idk I could write an essay on this shit lmao.
!! i think a lot of what has impacted the reception is this mentality of âeither orâ - which, people who donât experience attraction to more than one gender May project. however to me, aside from the reboot to the characters themselves and changes to personality and dynamics, it also didnât strike me as odd because my first thought wasnât that they âmadeâ them lesbian but rather that hey, new explorations of the characters where we now know they also feel attraction to more than one gender đ€·đ»ââïž and considering many teen shows will have a main relationship for a season or two, a breakup, and then pair up the characters with someone new (and that pairing coming from the âfriends to loversâ dynamics isnât unheard of either) this development didnât seem that out there for me, just new
right when i saw the loud house all them years ago i was so happy
It still hurts to see people thinking that by representing an lgbtq character(s) in movie's(or tv shows) that are targeted towards children, make them "unappropriate." This way of thinking is so toxic and harmful, using the logic of dose people representing a straight person(s) in a relationship is also unappropriate. The thing is that they don't realize how important this is towards kids. It helps them understand people around them and understand themselves to an extent. I'll give myself as an example. When I was 8, I remember starting to watch "Scooby doo mystery incorporated," and in season two, Velma was queer coded she was in a relationship with a character named "Hotdog water" (it was some kind of a nickname), and when I saw them it made me feel, well nice. Keep in mind that at that age, I still haven't figured out a thing about my sexuality, but what it showed me was that people are different, and that's okay. I hope that helped in some way. If anyone has red, it thank you for the time.
Yes I agree with you I grew up Christian and still am and most Christians think that it's a bad thing and the curtain shows are evil like my little pony and I'm happy my parents let me watch not Christian shows and yes I watched the Christian ones when I was younger but I don't think about them lots of Christian shows are trash all together like the finding nemo rip off finding Jesus like why the animation is scary lokey and tv shows and movies teach kids that the world isn't a bubble everyone christen of not is unique and different and has their own opinions and special talents the special talents part kinda referencing my little pony but sorry about that
Thatâs because theyâre homophobic lol
They hate anything thatâs not cis or straight
People just sexualize LGBT people so yeah
I wish I'd had representation growing up. If there had been characters like: Stevonnie (Steven Universe), Raine Whispers (The Owl House), and G3 Frankie, I would've been a much happier kid. I would've had examples of characters that I could relate to in regards to my gender identity. It wouldn't have taken until I was 18 to learn the terms "genderfluid", "genderqueer", and "non-binary". Stevonnie was the first time I saw myself in a character and I cried. Raine brought me so much joy to see an ADULT (and masculine) non-binary character. G3 Frankie gives me hope for the future. If their existence can help one kid not feel like I did, then immense good has been done.
Relationship representation is incredibly important too. I shouldn't have felt bad for having a crush on my same-gender classmates. (And my BFF shouldn't have felt like she was broken for never experiencing those feelings towards anyone!)
We need kids to know some people are different and that's perfectly fine. Media can bridge the gaps real life has.
@@Cruznick06 nice lots of Christians other then me are hypocrites and complain how gay lesbian and others in the community and that's why most won't go to church it's sad and most Christians believe love god love others but then you are rude I don't get that it gives me a sickly feeling like if you truly love god then respect people gosh
I don't mind the Clankie relationship, I personally think it'd be fun to explore! I do hope though that with this generation, if Neighthan and/or Valentine get added that one or both of them will be gay. Although I'm not too sure on Valentine's part, I do remember seeing that Neighthan was supposed to be gay, but someone on the team said that it "wasn't time" for something like that. Well, now's the time! Also, I really appreciate how you add other voices (no matter how off the walls they may seem), it really allows for different points to be seen, so other points can be created!
Valentine was supposed to be gay too!! But that wasn't allowed in the movie, unfortunately because of the same reason. He was always such a queer coded character so I really hope they bring him back and let him be gay this time
I think youâve got the situations with Neighthan and Valentine mixed up. Or at the very least Iâve heard a similar story concerning Valentine, not Neighthan. Valentine was intended to be canonically gay and was supposed to come out in his Comic-Con doll journal, but Mattel insisted that it wasnât the right time. He was meant to have a crush on Spelldon Cauldronello, Casta Fierceâs younger brother. I honestly donât remember anything specific that happened behind the scenes with Neighthan, but I have been hearing around for a while now that heâs queer coded. His color scheme at least certainly is incriminating considering how much of a match it is for the pan flag.
Gross
Isn't it kinda weird how when a show has an LGBT character, suddenly everyone goes "not everything has to be LGBT"... like GIRL, there are 12 other characters that are straight damn
*Straight couple kissing*

*Gay couple smiling and blushing at each other*
Internet puritans: I *wAkE*
I don't see why it's "inappropriate" for children. It is two characters developing feelings for each other. It's not inappropriate when a male and a female character develop feelings for one another. And coming from a gay man, I would have LOVED to see this representation as a child because everything in the media was straight couples, so I always felt that there was something wrong with me because I thought boys were cute, but no characters on tv liked their same gender. I think this will LGBTQ+ youth feel comfortable with their identities and not feel so scared about it like I did and accept themselves for who they are earlier in life. I know this would have meant the world to my younger self.
My 3 year old son LOVES the new Monster High cartoon and I for one am so, so thankful for it including such incredible diversity, especially with the LGBTQIA+ visibility. I want him to grow up in a world where he can recognize that love has no gender boundaries. As he gets older, I can discuss that with him, but words are words , while SEEING is believing. This needs no discussion other than "they like each other, isn't it sweet?" and he agrees, every time.
we need more parents like you!! thank you so much for supporting my community and teaching your children to do the same!! this makes my heart so warm đ«¶đ»

Thank you so much for being an inclusive and supportive parent. Even if your kid is cisgender and straight, having them see positive LGBT+ representation in media (and you supporting it) will help him to be an empathetic and kind human later in life.
Tbh about the Draculaura x Clawdeen ship
I've never seen clawdeen as a lesbian (or any orientation for that matter) because I've always perceived her as a ghoul that's really devoted to their passions (like becoming a fashion designer) that doesn't really need to be paired with anyone to thrill, personally that planted the seed on my head that I don't really need a partner to be happy and "have it all" and as much as I am a part of the LGBTQ+ community, It always felt jarring to me the idea of people assuming she's lesbian just because she isn't giving on the boy craze like the rest of her group đ
I understand not wanting every character to be in a couple, but to say someone can't be a lesbian because they're focused on their passions/not interested in dating is a bit weird. If you mean aromantic representation, that would be neat.
Also I don't think it's far fetched to assume Clawdeen is a lesbian since Garrett Sander himself adopted the idea and wanted to hint at it (but couldn't). Even if she was never officially queer, it's sad that they ignored that in the reboot, since there are so many characters they could have made work with her. (I don't think it should be Draculaura though).
Sorry for the rant
Hate when ppl use garet sanders for the headcannon when he never said she was meant to be lesbian
@@Whitemenhavelittledicks That's why I said he adopted the idea, she wasn't planned to be a lesbian but Garrett did "make" her a lesbian eventually, after some people had asked him about it
@@juli5945 I remember seeing this. I also remember seeing that he mentioned that he initially created her because he wanted a ghoul who's life isn't based on being boy crazy. It is upsetting that they didn't go through with her being lesbian. But I could've totally seen how fierce she could be to bring that to light.
I think it's good to say though, majority of the clips that the fans put together has her appearing lesbian, but there are episodes where it shows that she's shown more interest in mansters than ghouls. Again, sad. But true. Like in the Ghouls Rule movie, she had the hots for Draculaura's cousin. The same episode where fans were saying, "She didn't want to go on dates because she's lesbian," But the fact is, she just didn't want a relationship. Which I honestly respect.
Honestly, gen 1 lore is a little wonky which is why I appreciate gen 3. Because I feel like the storyline is more consistent so far and not random. Because there's literally an episode where it was Draculaura's birthday, but also Frankie's birthday that same day. Then they make a movie where it's all about Draculaura's birthday which confused me ten times more lol!
Anyways, thanks for coming to my ted talk x I really loved reading your input/rant.
@@juli5945 It's not the "assumption" in itself what bugs me, it is more of this kind of visceral reaction some sectors of the fandom have anytime "lesbian clawdeen" doesn't get validated (when there was some chance of sorts to do so)
Plus, some people tend to ignore that all the clips they use to headcanon her as a lesbian where from a period before Garret adopted the idea, and when he adopted it he wasn't working in Mattel anymore, so as much as "but the creator said it" people tend to argue, it's up to the current creative team whether that's true or not
BUT yeah! I think that's more accurate to what I wanted to say, it is this aura of "She's a lesbian and if she doesn't validate this thought anytime the could make her I'm gonna get mad" what bugged me, and I'm totally with you on the G3 clawdeen being paired with anyone but draculaura, althought I like the idea of her not being the one they show off (first) as lesbian WHILE also being one of the lesser "femenine" of the group, althought I like to see them explore the concept
As a queer person and a long-time MH fan, I couldn't be happier for seeing two of my favorite characters getting together and giving representation to the clawmunity. For everyone who thinks is "unnecessary" or "inappropriate" to have LGBTQ+ characters on animated shows, or shows meant for kids, I have a couple of things for you:
- LGBTQ+ people EXIST EVERYWHERE and will exist, whether you want it or not. If you think it's inappropriate to have LGBTQ+ characters/ relationships in a show that is "meant for kids", don't you think it is also inappropriate to have straight/ heterosexual dynamics on it? After all, according to that mindset, it's also pushing sexuality torwards a child. Instead of throwing rage and negativity, remember that MH message was always about inclusion and diversity. Back then, it was pretty metaphorical, but since the times are changing, we need concrete examples that can teach this future generation that everyone is different, and itÂŽs totally fine to be different, all we have to do is to respect the other's individuality.
This!!!
Cool but how no this relationship oh h*** no and everyway? H*** no I'm gay myself and I'm saying this fam Let's be honest they just wanted a reason to have another lesbian couple in here To finish with the new generation

ââ@@keisoa2218 ok but why though bc I want the normal monster high relationship couple like deuce and clawdeen and Draculora and clawd bc I like keeping things original I mean frankie and cleo is fine but for the others I like them the same. @@yellowmoon4564 I don't think so
I have an adopted baby sister and when she was 2 years old I gave her 2 Barbie's and her first instinct on how to play with them was to pretend they're in love and kissing each other.
All she was watching up that point was pinkfong and SpongeBob!
I'm still waiting for Val to get show up and get a boyfriend...
ME TOO I would literally cry from pure joy if he gets a g3 doll and I would love they stick with the western gothic vibes he had in g1 but most likely not but it would be nice
A Valentine doll is all I want. But if he comes back in G3 and even (FINALLY) get a boyfriend, I could die happy. đ
Why are people acting like there can only be one queer couple in gen 3? like I understand that itâs unlikely for there to be tons of LGBTQ+ representation but just because Frankie and Cleo are in a relationship that doesnât mean that draculara and clawdeen canât be in one
In theory, you're right... but we're so used to have crumbs of rep with like one token queer character that having multiple queer relationships that are canon in the same franchise feels impossible. Especially since people are still uneasy about queer people just existing, let alone in children media, it could be a complicated move when the main point is to sell toys. I don't like what I'm saying, it freaking sucks as a reality, but it's the most probable that there will only be one "feminine passing" (since Frankie is enby but still more feminine-presenting) queer ship. I could see a mlm canon relationship tho, and I wouldn't mind Deuce being a queer wingman to Frankie as well!
my greatest hope is that clawdeen x draculaura becomes canon somehow
This only worked for me cause theyâre both very different from their G1 version. If this ship was made with G1 in mind, I canât even imagine it, but with these almost completely different people I can definitely feel their chemistry.
I canât get over how amazing Frankie and Cleo are as a couple. Iâve kinda been an outsider to monster high, but I realized I really liked a world of monsters in high school granted Iâm in my twenties and started out in G3, mainly cause of the representation. (I mean we gotta start somewhere.) I never quite saw how they could be together but then I realized oneâs a mummy and oneâs a someone made of multiple someoneâs. I always liked the subtlety of Frankie and Cleo which is one of the best ways to approach a couple in my opinion.
Still waiting for Valentine X Spelldon.

A lot of the haters are refusing to accept that this is a new generation with new characters. The Cleo and Frankie we have now are not the same Cleo and Frankie that we grew up with, so there's a whole different set of rules and possibilities to explore. The new generation even takes place in an entirely different universe! Both G1 and G3 can exist together canonically so that way everybody can be happy. I think it's a smart setup!

i love frankie and cleo being a couple a lot! i think they have great chemistry and are just so cute together. i got teary eyed watching their moments too. đ€
When i think about Monster High. I think of these characters as story telling pieces. Because the heart of Monster High is diversity and accepting freaky flaws. With any iterations, i am down if they experiment on the formula. Personally, i am happy too see where it goes. It isn't my own ideal version. But i still like it, plus it was designed with the intent of being diffrent.
the fact that there are people in this community who don't understand this FACT makes me so sad and disappointed! the amount of toxicity I see about this reboot just being more embracing more diversity makes me really sad! the original couldn't include lgbt representation as the creators wanted because of the era! but now times have changed and now they can show more freely! and monster high is a show that this kind of representation should be embraced and welcomed with open arms!
Yes I love how you're being more casual now đ€
I think I'd respond with how much characters like these would help me, especially Frankie, as a kid. Spent so much of my life wondering what was wrong with me (I'm an older millennial), and there wasn't really much out there at all. As a doll fan, I would have found this so great đ€
Same! I watched the movie with my friends and we were losing our minds with how much movie Frankie feels like they were targeted to me (nb, they/they, neurodivergent coded, fashion, and being Frankenstein related). I would've loved to have more characters like Frankie growing up too.
I LOVE Frankie and Cleoâs relationship!
I never really thought of it before, but itâs actually really great in my opinion. Because as much as I love Cleo and Deuce, I honestly see the newer generation to be different from the others (which I think was supposed to be true, with how their personalities changed and that they look different)
I havenât been able to watch any of the new stuff, as I donât know where I can, but from clips Iâve seen, itâs just great!
The three things I can think of that I donât like is that Lagoona is very very different and she used to be one of my favorite characters, Clawdeen x Deuce, and the fact that Clawdeenâs family is kind of confusing and Clawd is the only sibling mentioned so far (that Iâm aware of)
Other than that, I absolutely love the new series!
16:53 my response would be that they were the reason why representation is important. Being queer isn't inappropriate. What is so inappropriate about queer relationships when straight couples can exist and not be called inappropriate?
I cannot stress how important representation is. Sure, I'm Bi so I've always had some degree of representation with straight media, but I havn't found much that encapuslates the real Bi experience for me. I can see the longing of other queer communities though to see themselves represented in media. It just feels nice, you feel seen and you feel less alone as a person.
I'll compare it the autism representation in this show. Twyla in the show has autism, and when I found it out I cried I was so happy. Autism in AFAB people presents differently than it does for AMAB people. It often goes unnoticed in AFAB because of it's overall rarity in biological females or most people only knowing autism or the symptoms present in biological males. So being AFAB, my autism went unrecignized until recently. Looking back it was so obvious, but growing up I was always told I was weird or different for having these symptoms, and finally understanding what those were has been so releving. I don't feel alone anymore, I don't feel alien or that something is wrong with me because I was able to see other AFAB who have autism as well. I can learn and see online how AFAB autism is different to AMAB autism, the general links between the two, and what I can do to better fit my own needs. If I didn't see other people with the same issue, I would have no idea that I was normal, and would still be struggling with the symptoms today (not that they're gone by any means, just managed)
I've always resonated with Twyla because our personalities were similar when I was younger, and the name is so similar to my own so she was one of my favorites. So seeing in one of the recent episodes that she was autistic was really heartwarming. Hopefully it shows other kids who were like me, weird and unusual that their expereince is totally normal. Thats there nothing wrong with them, that there are other people like you who struggle like you. Hopefully someone watching can realize that they might have autism too, maybe even sooner so they can grow up with the help they need.
If nothing else it exposes people to the topic, making it much less intimidating to learn about. The more people see it on television, the less bothered they are about it in real life. It makes it's target demographic, younger girls, more open to ideas and experiences different from their own. Thats the whole point of the show, is to discuss everyone diversity and uniqueness, so it only makes sense that diversity and uniquenss reaches into POC, queer, and neurodiverse characters.
How homophobes get upset about the "over-representation" in media is how our community feels about cis, hetero, and neurotypical represenation. The difference is that we're not coming from a place of hatred or bigotry, we're coming from a genuine want to feel seen and not treated as weird or different. People don't want to be alone or ostricised, regardless of who or what they are--its just core to the human experience.
Media should reflect the wide diveristy in humanity itself. The only reason people have an issue with this much diversity existing in media is because they think it shouldn't exist in reality either. It might not reflect your own personal experience but THATS OKAY. No everything has to reflect you. Your own personal experience may be drastically different, and you might not be used to seeing this much diversity. If thats the case I urge you to change that and get more involved in more diverse communities.
I grew up in a majority white town and you could count all the kids of color on two hands (class sizes ranged in the 400 of studetns, and you could count the number of not white kids in the entire school on just two hands)---so I can understand. It's scary to get out of your comfort zone and learn about experiences different than you own. I've been there before. But growing my own perspective of the world and those around me has been worth all the extra effort. Theres a lot of beauty in diversity, but you have to be willing to go see it.
(appoligies for the essay word vomit. I doubt anyone would read the whole thing but if you did thanks! It's more of a vent than it is actually persauve but at least I'm boosting the video lol)
I really like Cleo and Franky's relationship. I feel like it's really important to teach kids about pride I just really hope the show doesn't overdo it
let me tell you why I love this ship: I am a bi woman/girl who has kind of repressed it all her life. in all media, wlw/femme-presenting nb x femme is portrayed in a very weird way. Not many times do we get to see gorgeus characters that are feminine and embrace their femininity be in open gay relationships. growing up, i never related with shows like steven universe because all of the characters were portrayed in toxic ways that ended up making them laughable and people made fun of them, which made me hate my queerness even more. I am still trying to figure out my gender identity, but the fact that cleo x frankie is a thing makes me really happy. esp because cleo is a beautiful woman of color and so am i so that makes me glad to see that people like me could openly love girls/nb people and not be laughed at.
That's why i tell people that representation matter even if its too rare because someone somewhere is relating to it and happy to see themselves accepted and loved
â@@lovelyjack understandable
idk man, i never liked the idea of drac and clawdwen bc to me there just each others best friend. and iâve always enjoyed frankie and cleo even back then. I canât wait to see how it goes
also i love your tangent at the end.
i thought i was the only one who never shipped draculaura and clawdeen, is there anything wrong with clawd where people don't want drac with him? i like how clawdeen never had a love interest like all of the other ghouls. as for cleo and deuce, their relationship has cute moments, but i also never saw it as the best thing ever either, just as that one relationship that has always been there. so if im missing something about that i would love to be filled in on that too. i personally don't know how ppl see g1 and g3 characters the same, like yes they are similar but they are so different the point where i don't even think of g1 when i see g3. when i watch g1 i don't even think of g3 either. the styles are so different. personally, im a huge lover of g3, the fact that monster high is reimagined and able to do new things. i relate to cleo a lot because i have an insecurity that when im out people will be shocked too. so seeing cleo's relationship with frankie and them making it seem so normal and not this confusing thing is so heartwarming. i also adore that cleos voice actor is queer as well. i just love how g3 is bringing us things we never would have thought of before, and more people can feel seen
i do really see clawdeen as a lesbian, i really feel like it was the fandom masculinizing the black girl as per usual
@@XiaoIsMyHusbandBTW wait wdym masculinizing ? which part
Deuce and cleo have a whole movie dedicated to their love they also went through alot to be together because of cleos family not approving of deuce.

Draculaura x clawdeen better be Canon. They are perfect for each other! The outfits for their costume balls match each other as well.

I love Clankie! I didn't expect it, but I absolutely love it regardless.
In regards to Draculara and Clawdeen, it honestly always felt weird to ship Draculara with ANYONE? Especially the werewolves. Like, she used to babysit them? It personally always made me feel weird.
My take on Frankie and Cleo is that whoever wanted to write this relationship really seems to care about it, so I am interested to see where it goes. I mean so far itâs vary subtle and sweet, Duce (that was his name right?) wasnât a bad character, and his and Cleoâs relationship wasnât perfect, it wasnât abusive, I think exhausting may be a better word. But it felt like their relationship kinda fell under the same bad writing habits that come with writing a male/female couple
Which is summed up as âheâs just a boy, I am just a girl, can that make it anymore obvious?â When people talk about shows having LGBT+ added to them I never see anyone talk about how those relationships are better written, and have more work put into them by starting them out as friends instead of insta love sick puppy who donât even really get to know each other till AFTER they get together. Everyone on both sides are either âugh not EVERYTHING has to be LGBT+â or âthis is now the greatest thing because itâs LGBT+â. I never hear anything about how those relationships made the story more interesting because the subtitles of slowly feeling something strong and new for someone are so well written and relatable or better because that relationship changed the two involved and helped them
And as for the argument that things are made LGBT+ to gain more popularity, yes their is popularity to be gained, but I am TIRED of people talking about it like itâs easy and quick popularity. Because the straight option is still the easier one. And you might be saying âwell then why does the gay option gain more positive attention then?â Because the endless sea of negative attention makes the gay option a risk of turning A LOT of people away, playing it safe in some ways can make your story invisible, because by trying to please everyone your pleasing no one.
Itâs the risk itself that sparks attention and you canât half ass it otherwise it can still fail (again why straight is easier) it gives your story an air of having something to say and is taking the risk of saying it, and you still canât win with everyone, the only way YOU win is making what you had to say worth saying
I loved the way they built the relationship, like it just kind of happened, but not out of nowhere. It very much reminded me of how straight relationships are presented in movies. Just a little bit of chemistry and then ooooo they dating now! I appreciate how they normalized it. This kind of representation matters, because being gay is treated as such a taboo when in reality a lot of people are lgbtq. âNot everything has to be gayâ this is true. Not everything has to be gay, but someone is going to be gay whether someone else approves or not. Monster high is all about being yourself and providing a safe haven for monsters. Donât tell me Iâm wrong, because itâs queer coded. It neurodivergent coded. Itâs disabled coded. Itâs EVERYONE coded. If you have a problem with that then you donât belong at Monster High.
i just wanna say, i had my cleo and and deuce dolls holing hands and i swear their hands kept moving away from each other and then i found this out and i made her and frankie hold hands and i haven't noticed it moving once. đ€·đ»ââïž
This relationship was never on my wishlist, but itâs all that I never knew I needed to happen in G3. đž
Been a huge MH fan since 2010 and it wasn't until 2020 when I saw the haters to lovers trope with Cleo and Frankie and since 2020 I've been shipping them even in Gen 2 they are like always next to each other. I wasn't introduced to the LGBTQ+ community until middle school because my friends told me they liked the same gender since then I've been totally supportive and even figured out I am part of the community identifying as asexual and aromatic. But just because I am those things doesn't mean I don't dream about it for my favorite characters like Cleo and Frankie being together. The backlash really upsets me because if it was Valentine and Spelldon no one would bat an eye but since it's two main characters one of which was dating a male character and that was the characters personality people are losing it. After 13 years we are finally getting rep! It's like everyone being upset about every doll Mattel comes out with, you guys have been asking for MH back and now that it is your complaining. Everyone can have their own opinion but seriously think about the hypocrisy. There has been other queer rep in children's media such as Andy Mack, Zombies, Owl House, Steven Universe, She-Ra. The list goes on. I'm glad Mattel was finally able to take a risk it gets them ahead of other doll brands in representation which is what Monster High is all about. Also yall weren't upset when Frankie came out as Non-binary so đ€šđ€šđ€š
Agree but the part where you state âno one was upset at Frankie being non-binaryâ is absolutely false. One of the MAIN criticisms of G3 was transphobia/TERF-related âcritiqueâ of Frankie being trans. Almost everyone in the fandom hated the idea. People were using blatantly transphobic language under the guise of âcriticismâ or âdifferent opinionâ just to declare their bigoted views. Any excuse you can think of to not represent trans people, fans have been using. The actor who played Frankie in the live action received a lot of transphobic harassment from âfansâ. The lot of criticism talked about in this video is rooted in the hatred of the Clankie ship, also; that the representation wouldâve âbeen betterâ of it was a lesbian Clawdeen with a lesbian Draculaura. As in these toxic fans believe the only âgoodâ queer representation is cis lesbian representation, which is an incredibly disgusting agenda to push.
*The lot of criticism in Frankieâs character, I mean.
âThey keep pushing gay in every single movieâ
Literally name at least 3 movies

Oh my ghost! Your impression game is so onđđâšâšâšâš
Oh my ghost has to be my favorite comment I've ready all day! Thank you scary much!!!
Literally THOUSANDS of doll lines have done male + female pairings with relationships, story arcs, and 2 packs. It's honestly sad that it's just in the show and only hinted at with the dolls. I would love to see a Clankie 2 pack. As a child I had many doll sets of hetero relationships (My Scene Jammin in Jamaica tandem bikes to name one), kids do not really care about the lore the company gives, they're gonna make up their own stories with the dolls anyway.
I love your voice acting for the Gouls! Itâs really impressive
Amazing video as always!!!!
GORRRRL your impressions are SPOT ONN!! đ«
the impressions made my day lmao
I think itâs kind of amazing that not only is their relationship a queer relationship but that one of them isnât cis. I donât watch the gen 3 series so I was a little hesitant about Clankie at first but after some context they seem cute. Just anything but Clawdeen and Deuce đ
I like this iconic Barbie movie look! đ
I can definitely understand why people are still so iffy on the whole matter, even if you say âG3 is not G1â.
The transition from G1 to G3 with what happened to Cleo and Deuce really muddies to the whole thing - especially considering how it was handled in the live action movie, and the fact that G1 had an entire MOVIE dedicated to Cleo and Deuce getting over their issues (just for them to recycle the plot in the diaries kkkk).
Even with the Valentineâs Day dolls, Cleo and Deuce donât really have full closure yet when it comes to an actual written story. G1 content is also no longer being produced apart from limited edition dolls.
G3 also got a lot of backlash when Clawdeen ended up in a relationship with a guy when G1 was seen as lesbian for a long time. It feels like Clankie is a lowkey response to those fans in that regard.
Iâm happy theyâre able to do open representation, but the relationship changes might be happening too fast for some people. G3 did come when G1 still had a vibrant community.
idk why decided to make the movie and series so different, cause clawdeen and deuce have no chemistry in the series lol. idk if its happening too fast, i mean g1 ended a long time ago so idk when the right time to reimagine the characters would be
It's weird because Clawdeen was never a lesbian. She literally liked guys in Gen 1 (crushing on Draculaura's cousin Thad and in her profile she said she liked flirting with guys). At least, in gen 3 it's a new storyline where they are building a true queer couple and not a speculated one. People were seeing Clawdeen as lesbian when the original creator literally admitted she was not meant to be LGBTQ+. He only liked people's headcannon of her.
I do understand older fans might be taken aback by some of the couplings, but it shouldn't come as no surprise that Clawdeen is dating a guy when any true blue fans who have watched all the movies and read her profile would know she liked guys. The jarring part was that she was dating Deuce...
oh, I love Clawdeena9 finally talking about Cleo and Frankie, when I saw this on the series I freaked out, and Clawdeena9 is such an inspiration to me, being Bi and wanting to love something like Monster High is very challenging in my home, so I sneak onto my laptop and I'll watch Clawdeena9 for hours and hours, thank you Clawdeena9 for being such an inspiration to me
When I found out about the Frankie and Cleo relationship I was so happy and excited đ
That draculaura impression was it đđ
I feel like alot of people keep denying that this is a different unuverse and think that what happens in this version will affect g1. Also some of the people complaining dont watch the show to see the full change of everyones personality and not just their style. Also G3 has done most male designs better
I'm a long-time MH fan most people who are against Cleo x Frankie haven't even watched the new G3 show. If they did, they'd see that a lot of the personalities of the characters have changed. Cleo and Deuce in G3 wouldn't make sense. I admit, I was judgy and thrown off when G3 first started to come out(before the show and the movie). But now that time has passed, I've accepted it, and I like the changes. Sure, I feel like it would have been better to make G3 characters younger cousins of the G1 characters. But that's something that can't be done at this point. I enjoy learning about the G3 alternate universe, and I'm excited to see how Cleo x Frankie's relationship develops.
I have been watching the G3 Monster High Nick Show but I just think that Cleo as a lesbian and Frankie as Non-Binary is just stupid and useless and pointless and its something that would be ok to show kids in the real world but something that you are not supposed to put into a cartoon it just makes thing less imaginative and gives kids brain poisoning. Plus If changing character orientations was supposed to be some kind of a corporate joke its absolutely not funny.
I'm sorry but the reading for that "disgusting!" Got me hahaha
well giving LGBTQ representation and support is not disgusting but what is disgusting is trying to force it onto the characters and forcing it onto the audiences and treating it like some kind of a sickening joke when it is just not funny.
I personally love Clankie ! Like only the fact that in G1 they where "enemies" at the beginnin, and look at them now!
Wait i actually love this, gotta run watch the episodeđâ€
Honestly, if you don't like it, don't watch it, and Mattel IS adding all the represention, because in the real world, it's a chaos, witch lead to actual murder scenes, so Mattel, keep doing ya fucking thing!
Clawdeenas impressions ATE LEFT NO CRUMBS đ«đ đ
I have to make my Cleo and Frankie doll hold hand on my display đ
Frankie and Cleo actually have a lot in common outside of the changes in G3, and seeing their relationship in a school setting not being made a huge deal but just them being subtly into each other is really important to see on tv nowadays cause it shows kids like this isnât any different than a straight couple on the screen. And I think thatâs why some parents donât want that or people feel like itâs being shoved down their throats because straight media has been shoved down everyoneâs throats since tv started so itâs weird and new for them when for everyone else itâs just representation.
We make such a big deal about it because GOOD lgbt moments in kids shows are hard to come by and we all wish we had that growing up.
Their relationship isnât impacting the story in a negative way and their support for each other is helping them both build character outside of dating where deuce was always in Cleoâs shadow and had a lot to live up to since she couldnât just ditch her rich family.
People need to work on themselves before preaching âitâs not good for the kids!â because all they did was hold hands and hug nothing was inappropriate til fans made it inappropriate.
"Not everything HAS to be gay!"
Yes it does. As of now, I'm issuing a mandate that every piece of media has to be at least a little queer.

I'm brand new to Monster High and have connected so hard with Frankie, being a trans woman who's never quite fit in anywhere until very recently, and who's also attracted to other women. I was drawn right away to Frankie's design, but upon learning that they're not only non-binary but are also in a relationship with Cleo... wow. id just like to put out there: what about monster high as a whole is straight???? itâs the most queer coded show ever aesthetic wise. every lesbian i know LOVES monster high and some even take theyâre style from the show

the way id respond to people asking why they put lgbt stuff in everything is literally its just the reality of a modern day high school experience that there are queer people and mh is a franchise about high schoolers
Not the Fascinating Horror theme music đđđ
I personally LOVE the idea of Frankie and Cleo being together. I feel like the people who make the claims that they aren't easy about it is the people who don't watch the new series becuase they're worried that it's changing too much of the narrative form the OG Monster High. I feel like the first gen had something, but their stories will always get mixed up. Like, yeah, they confirmed that Clawdeen had the thought of being lesbian. But, they never showed that. They wanted a character that stood out from the rest of the ghouls who didn't need a relationship in her life. She's only shown interest in boys thus the end of ghouls rule the movie where she showed interest in Draculaura's...cousin (a vampire boy) not her unfortunately.
I genuinely love the gradual tension Frankie and Cleo had in the gen 3 series. I feel like the stories will finally be consistent. Everybody says that their personalities are the same, but watching the series, I feel like they're all quirky in their own ways. Because we have to keep in mind that these are for children. We don't want to always play the narrative that being mean or getting into relationships is the only thing you need to seek in life. Sometimes the only things you need are your ghoul and manster friends. (:

People need to understand that representation absolutely matters. It wasn't always the case where you could see someone or something that was like you. I think because they are dolls, they are automatically seen as being marketed to children, and children shouldn't be exposed to things seen as controversial, inappropriate, etc. I think that if we educate children about these important things at the right age, then that's ok. I'm a long-time MH fan and also pan, so I'm always open to new ideas and perspectives on things. I'm trying to get into G3, but it's slow. Frankie has always been my favorite.

People who complain about the new abimation and visuals of the cartoon, are the ones who missed the message of G1 Monster high.
Like, yeah, the animationis different and the characters are changed a little but the message stayed the same:
"As we move forward into the future, we will continue our rich tradition of accepting anybody who comes trough those doors whether they are vampire or werewolf, creepy or freaky or hybrid"
(G1 Frankie from "Freaky Fusion")
Like she said, the story is counting.
Not for us anymore, but for the new generation of kids, so THEY can expirince their own Monster High.
Anyway, people can say what they want, i however support the new G3 thing going on, the representation is just chefs kiss.

Keep in mind parents effect this alot and coming out is hard bc we don't have parents that support these things like doing this will effect monster high as a whole after it has come back bc these are main characters and changing one thing will lead to alot I don't want what happened to Steven universe or The Owl house to happen to monster high especially since we don't have that many supportive parents with these things and that's also why ever after high was giving alot of backlash after the kissing scene
