The Shoe Snob blog was the very first on my list, when I realised that I love shoes. Even though I knew almost all of his story already I was watching this with my mouth open. I admire the guy. Thank you so much for this interview, Mr. Allison.
I've got 10+ pairs of his brand, he's a great guy and his shoes are amazing for the price point.
Just got my first pair.wow love them
A really great interview and just excellent .Justin was my inspiration for starting shoe care after seeing one of his 1st videos. A relaxing hobby and brings a sense of personal pride. A mirror shine makes you stand just that little bit taller...
Love your insights Kirby 👏👏👏 🇬🇧
Great interview Justin. You’re a real gem and thank you for pursuing a better knowledge of shoes here in America. Boy is it needed.
Just bought a pair of Issaquah loafers from Justin, and had the chance to visit him in his NY showroom. Great guy! I'm a fan of the uniquely designed and well crafted shoes that he puts out, and was a pleasure to support a craftsman with a mission I can relate to. Really wishing him a lot of success. Have my eyes on his Wallingford model oxford in Burgundy, with that gorgeous heart medallion on the toe!
I remember first discovering the shoe snob blog that one night and stayed up almost all night to read the backlog of articles on it.
I’ve been following Justin/The Shoe Snob for 4-5 years, and only recently discovered Kirby. Both have taught me a lot and are pure class.
Great interview with the great Justin. Many thanks, Kirby. This awesome guy is a shoe paladin!! And I happen to be the proud owner of some of his gorgeous oxfords...
All I know is Justin Fitzpatrick is great. I have six pairs of his shoes, I often get compliments. The shoes are so comfortable. I'll probably have three more by the end of September.
Love the interview and Justin's story. Recently got my brother a pair of his shoes and planning my first too!
Kirby gr8 interview. Nobody can do it like you. I shall be a lifelong client now of this shoe designer. Very impresssive life story.
amazing actually... what a story of J. Fitzpatrick... these shoes have a story behind them... just amazing
lovely storey, and great determination, thanks for the incite both of you
Congratulations, Justin on your success . And keep up the great work .
Thank you Joey!
Great interview and super interesting story. I enjoy people sharing their experiences, it encourages others to be more in charge of their own life and do something about it. I have not met Justin in person but seems a nice humankind. Thank you Kirby to produce all these amazing videos, you are making a great job for the audience.
So thrilled to see this collaboration! You were right in predicting that I had more to look forward to after the G&G history video. :D
Incredible story!!!
Really Inspiring. The quality of all your videos is top notch. The background music in all videos is smooth.
great video. Hope he continues the success while I can afford his amazing collection. For other interested, they have a clearance sale about now.
Inspiring story and happy to see both of you continually succeed
Thanks to your first video on J. Fitzpatrick, Kirby, I order a pair of his Whittiers last night. When I saw those shoes, they just hit me hard as something I would enjoy. Totally my kind of shoes. I went over to his site and explored the shoes a bit before buying, and finally decided that I want to go ahead and get them. It was about this time last night, 8-9PM EST, and I had a question about what size he recommended based on my AE size (11.5E on the AE #5 last).
This is my favorite part of the experience so far...., I sent an email asking my question, not expecting a response for a day or two. As I was closing my laptop, I heard the email notification. To my surprise, Justin had replied with his advice (10UK for normal instep, 10.5 UK with high instep). 7 minutes. It took him only seven minutes to provide me with the information needed to place my order! Off to a good start with Justin and his shoes already!
His shoes will be my first foray out of AE, and they're just my style. I look forward to purchasing shoes from him in the future, and considering how quickly he personally replied to my email, I couldn't be happier with my decision thus far. Thank you for introducing me to Justin and his shoes!
Amazing interview!!!
quite the journey!
Hello Kirby, This was a great interview. really interesting story, Vice nice shoes.
Funny thing, I started getting in to shoes because of the Shoe Snob Blog. I also had a Whole-Cut loafer with a medallion made (from a local shoemaker) because of a blog post from the shoe snob blog. Didn't know at the time that Justin Fitzpatrick was going to make it big.
Greetingd from Poland . I want to thank you, for all your work and passion you add to your movies. They are one of the best things i found on youtube , beacuse i love leather shoes , i love take care of them.
QUESTION : iI have Saphir Beaute du Cuir Shoe Cream and Saphir Beaute du Cuir Creme Surtine. Whats the difference about them ? Should i use them both , or if i use one of them , a dont need the other ? do you have video aobut diffrent products of Saphir line . When i can mix them and when is unnesesery ?
It's really curious how many of his designs are named after places in Washington State.
Beautiful footwear. I never knew that cobblers put buttons on shoes. Wow!
I believe you stated you are a member of a club in London? Which one and would you recommend my selection? I won't travel to London frequently so perhaps one with a reciprocal relationship with others in the Pacific? I am a member of both Chatham House and RUSI in London now. But a social club may have a distinctive clientele for conversation and exchange of perspectives?
The Sartorialist's name doesn't really "invoke a reaction out of people"; its success proves that it doesn't have to.
Id love to sit with Kirby with a 20 plus year old scotch, a fine cigar, and just pick his brain...
He says he is American but there is something off with his accent. He said I went to university. We don't say that. No big deal but just wondering. Did he come to the US when was young?
I say that, most of my friends say that. All American.
And FYI -Americans who travel to Europe a lot tend to pick up certain mannerisms and speech behaviors from there. This is especially true if you're involved in fashion.
@@themaskedman221 ok. Maybe it is regional as I'm born and raised i the US and I don't know anyone that says I went to university (i.e "I went to college at UCLA"). We tend to use university in the definitive form (the) but not like how brits may say "I went to university" or "I went to hospital"
@@user-vg5oh2pv2o Also might be worth mentioning -Justin Fitz's whole schtick is to bring European fashion and flavour to Americans, so that sort of speaking style is very much consistent with his brand. It is impossible to be involved with high fashion and not be influenced by Western Europe -Paris, Milan, London.
I have never seen this individual before, nor have I heard of him. After I originally saw your video, I went to check out his CZcams channel, The Shoe Snob. I have to tell you he may be an acquired taste as he does come across as an arrogant, conceded, and an American that thinks he’s better than the rest of the population. He’s not a person that I would not want to meet personally, or hang out with and have coffee with. Perhaps he is a genius and a driven businessman. That said, he will have to overcome the first impression that comes across to people. Sorry, but that’s how I feel.
Would have been an enjoyable interview, but sadly, the silly soundtrack ruined it.
Why ruin quality content?
He looks coked out.
And you 'look' envious. He's the total opposite of 'coked out.'
@@liverpoolpictorial hands figeting, cant stay still, doesnt make eye contact. its either coke or anxiety.
@@karupt422 You've obviously never hung out in SoHo.
Great story, however this is one angry young man. perhaps that fuels him, but a poor spirit IMO hate to say.
Unbutton your jacket when you sit down, sir. Day one knowledge.
It's double breasted. Keep it buttoned.
