@@lolazo21 I doubt that they think this....I built and fpv Inspire with a mini airsoft gatling gun.......I think that's what they are afraid of :)), Because mine, will literally shoot Amazon's drone (any drone) out of the sky in 2 seconds. But I still use it for fpv videos.

Yep...Seen it. And the NIMBUS seems an extremely affordable platform. About the same price of Mavic2 Pro minus the transmitter.

It's not that it's old tech, it's proven tech that is refined and produced more affordably. Previously a lot of this tech was military and special agency specific. Even though it is still presented in this video primarily as a special agency piece of technology, it has become affordable enough to operate a larger fleet of hardware and additionally it has become more affordable for (as an example) a smaller surveyor company to operate in terrain that would be difficult to do from the ground.
What kind of tech your company offers?
It sold technology used in a "new" way. Like the canbus system is pretty neat, not something you find in consumer drones. Same with that range

I see search and rescue operations being done when there is a hurricane or other disaster being done. I need to get that part 107 license right now.
This particular model and concept make's drones far cooler.
Man, I'd sure like to try flying an impressive fixed-wing craft someday. All I got is the Parrot Hydrofoil and the Mavic Mini. Well, time to save, lol.

Looks incredible but can this only be flown out to 40 km by first responders and military personnel? Maybe this is preemptive of FAA Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operational allowance we are hoping to see, but we haven’t seen yet.
That's the design ! Using wing makes more lavitation, much more efficient than a drone, good job..

I have a source who told me that a propeller for the Dragonfish is $4560.00 and a single battery will cost $11,145.00. It is clear that Autel wants to make sure every drone enthusiast can afford to buy one.

Clearly this is not aimed the general consumer market. It may well be expensive, but I bet it's a lot cheaper than purchasing & running a helicopter. This looks like an ideal tool for search & rescue, fitted with an IR camera it would be perfect. Also for bushfire surveillance it would a great tool for fighting bushfires in allowing emergency services to effectively allocate resources where they are needed. It could also be handy for large cattle farms in keeping tabs on their livestock or for large scale crop spraying. Well done Autel!
It seems like it would be ideal to find and count livestock over large areas. Getting an algorithm to count sheep is no big challenge. The difficult part is keeping it from going into sleep mode.
We need a VTOL drone for the hobby
I'm working for a forest company, and they asked me what kind of drone can we used.
How good the drone is to make orthomosaic of forest ? (before and after harvest)
Any drone with enough flight time and MultiSpectral camera can achieve that, and being practical a Fixed Wing/VTOL is much more suited to the large areas and lesser max Overlapping.

I have been into drones for some time now. I created and operate a system for my employer. I am just now hearing about this drone. I was ready to snap one up until I saw the price tag. I can see why it would cost more than other models but damn!!!!!!!

thing is i would absolutely love to have the watered down version of this. you alittle smaller. less battery but still decent camera. i would fly a fixed wing all day . the industry is growing but i feel the window to learn these drones is still quite small. to me becoming a pilot and flying these uavs is a wide chasm between the two. would just love to see alittle more invite.

NightFlight is basically dayTime flight without anything extra, The GPS and IMU and Practically, every aspect of the Flight Controller works the same.
You just need an IR/ Starlight sensor, and you're pretty much to "actually make a practical" use of it in Night 🌃.
