  • Cobus Reinach will replace the injured Faf de Klerk in the Springboks’ starting lineup for this Saturday’s third Test against the British & Irish Lions.
On Tuesday, Bok coach Jacques Nienaber made three changes to his starting team for the clash, two of which were personnel changes and one positional switch, mainly due to injuries to the influential Pieter-Steph du Toit (flank) and De Klerk (scrumhalf).
With Du Toit, the 2019 World Rugby Player of the Year, having taken a knock to the shoulder in the second Test this past weekend, Franco Mostert moves from lock to the side of the scrum, while Lood de Jager is promoted from the bench to the starting team and will start alongside Eben Etzebeth in the second row.
The other change is at scrumhalf, where Reinach replaces De Klerk, who has been ruled out due to a leg muscle strain.
The British & Irish Lions 2021 Test series against the Springboks has been a gladiatorial slugfest of epic proportions, writes former Lions centre SCOTT GIBBS.
The quality of rugby has unfortunately not been widely accepted yet, to the rugby purist, the to and fro of phenomenal 40-minute performances from both sides to win their respective Tests has been a spectacle to observe. Saturday’s final clash will, however, be decided by the team capable of engineering an 80-minute effort.

Very interested to see how Reinach will take over Faf's role, whether he'll continue to kick like the previous game plan or change things up a bit and encourage more running, we'll have to see. Well happy for Adams to start, he deserves the place and hope he has a good game and maybe continue his wave of tries onto Saturday ;)

I remember him playing at Northampton a few years back, managed to score a stupid amount of tries. His support lines are incredible. I can't remember much else. Is he a decent kicker?

Excellent squads, I'm happy that we're at 1-1, and really looking forward to this final. İf the second game had been closer I would have called it as a toss up leaning towards a Lions win, but the margin here could mean the Boks have the edge. My heart says the Lions but my head says the Boks. But it's rugby, who knows what will happen in 80 minutes.

Cobus Reinach who, somehow, is faster than his dad, Jaco Reinach, was, might just be the magic that will separate these two teams. I'm also stoked for him, a chance to shine here!

Gman it would be goid if you could show a written list of the teams with changes. If you dont have the equipment even on a whiteboard would really help those of us who are old. Shame about steph dutoit
I correctly bet on the first 2 tests, and for this one i have gone for SA @ $1.61.

I was convinced before the tournament that the Lions who have brilliance in abundance would win the series 3-0. From the highlights of the first game it was obvious that SA where very unlucky with tries being recalled for infringements that where so close. Gatland must have seen the same thing, I can not work out what the Lions tried to do differently in the second test?
In the first test, for the Lions, I could see passes where being dropped left and right. To me the Lions needed to work on team cohesion. If the passing game is not working they are in big trouble, and either they fix it, kick a lot, or loose.
I can not believe how good SA are, when was the last time they played the All Blacks?
For the last test I am interested to see what Gatland does to the line up. He went for in form players as the basis for his plan. He had nothing to loose and he wanted to do what he had never done/dare to do before. I am not exactly sure what his founding principal for setting up the team was, but he now has something to loose and I bet we will see players changing positions. I expect an emphasis on passes being made, known combinations of players that have worked together before being grouped up and less of an emphasis on high end tactical outthinking of the opposition. To wit back to basics.
For the Springbocks, I think they are just going to piss fire and walk off the field with some Lion skins. lol.
Cannons to the left of them, Cannons to the right of them. Hear the Lions roar!! Go Lions.
Gareth, all glory is fleeting. WORK HARD, get a publicist, keep the Iron HOT and strike in all directions. What are your goals for the next three months?
    Good luck buddy.

Even with key players injured, the Springboks will still deliver and win the series without fans unnecessarily throwing their remote at the TV or hitting their computer screen. 😂

  • @marchellevanniekerk4144

3 of our star players not playing....might as well just hand lions the test
