      Got one running too, if you set the PState coordination to SW_ANY you can get boost on a few cores up to 3.4 in HW_ALL mode it only boosts to 3.0. Currently building a 1680 V2 with a gigabyte motherboard and a 2060 super as a VR Rig.

    I would check MIYCONST channel for detailed reviews of these Chinese motherboards and best pairings vis a vis the XEON CPU's (both X79 and X99 variants).
    Also, I tend to shy away from Machinist and have opted for HuananZhi ("HZ"), given their reputation wrt VRM's (quality caps/chokes, etc.) and reliance on C600 series chipsets. With XEON, unless on an extreme budget, always opt for QUAD channel DIMM's, if at all possible.
    I have had a positive experience with the HZ on two builds:
    HZ deluxe X79 + E54627V2 (8C/8T all core 3.5Ghz) + 6 pipe x 6mm dual/RGB 120mm SNOWMAN
    HZ X99TF + E5-2678V3 (12C/24T all core 3.3Ghz with Miyconst Turbo-unlock) + SNOWMAN CPU cooler.

    • @BensTechLab
      @BensTechLab  Před 3 lety +2

      Good advice! I do actually watch MIYCONST. I chose this motherboard due to small size to fit in small case (and low price). I'm sure there are technically better options. If you can have a bigger case you can fit quad channel memory capable motherboard.

    • @BensTechLab

    • @BensTechLab
      @BensTechLab  Před 3 lety +1

      This motherboard only supports dual channel memory configuration. All 4 DIMMs should show up, but you won't get the performance found on higher end (larger) motherboards with quad channel memory configuration. This is one compromise of this board's features (supposedly required due to small PCB size, they couldn't fit all the traces on the motherboard unless you make it full size ATX).

    • @BensTechLab
      @BensTechLab  Před 2 lety

      It's unrealistic to diagnose this over the internet. You should test each ram stick one at a time first and also check the speed is the same for all sticks (and ideally same brand chips, although not technically required). Some cheap surplus ecc memory is also "salvaged" and the cheapest ones are sometimes faulty. Some ebay/aliexpress sellers will reprogram the chips to report a higher speed than they were actually spec'd for.

    • @BensTechLab
      @BensTechLab  Před 3 lety +1

      Good question! You know, I'm not even sure. It may even be different for different Chinese X79 motherboards. These mATX ones do sacrifice functionality to make a physically smaller board... a larger full size ATX board may have more features. I'll take a peek at the MB for any obvious TPM headers sometime.

      @BensTechLab  Před 2 lety

      There are a lot of factors to consider. The cpu does contain the memory controller but also problems can arise from surplus memory being reprogrammed out of spec (making slower ram faster) or power supply voltages being out of spec (overclocking), and more... start by swapping your working ram into the bad slots to make sure it isnt dead ram sticks. Then maybe reseat cpu. Then if still dead maybe new cpu or MB.

      @BensTechLab  Před rokem

      Full size graphics cards can fit! The thickness of the card or depth from motherboard up to case side panel are not constrained. The length can support full length but not with a large powersupply or the long card and powersupply will conflict with eachother. So you'll need to invest in a quality small form factor power supply to fit long cards.
