Growing up on St. Pete Beach in FL, as a young kid, (live in MO after getting out of the Army) I caught a variety of fish...but never caught a snook. Congrats on the snook esp in Alabama. The biggest fish I caught was a 262 lb Marlin at the age of 17, which did mount and hung my wall.

Yeah that's a hot spot this time of year. I got out today and caught a few trout.
Hopefully that snook finds its way to a spring up that creek because it needs 60 degrees plus to thrive.
Yeah I hope so. That water temp dropped pretty significantly the next day. Hopefully we get a mild winter

Snook have been caught ocaisonaly in Jacksonville Florida for a long time, no reason they couldn't be in Bama when winters have been mild. The area you're fishing looks very much like some of the NE Fl. creeks.

That is very different to what we call a snoek in Southern Africa where the name snoek originates. The South African snoek is also called a barracouta. Does your snoek have another common name?
