    I checked your videos out because of truck master, that being said, I love the progress of the truck. The lift is incredibly sexy. Your truck is looking better and better as time goes on. -Miles

    Kind of an old post but I was wondering, doesn't bds make a recoil bar that is 68" and one that is 60"? Looks like you had the 60" and the longer would have been able to have been bolted through the frame?

    I’m wondering if I’d run into that tie rod issue with kryptonite tie rods, I’m also using the kryptonite center link as well.

    I remember in the video when you got it raptor lined, you said that you weren't going to lift it. I'm glad you did.

    If you pause it at 6:18 you'll see that the weld in plate on the driver's side lower control arm wasn't installed. How's the truck holding up, any issues with it? I'm about to install a similar lift on truck and was curious if I had to weld that plate in or will it will fly without it?

    • @RustbeltMechanic
      @RustbeltMechanic  Před 5 lety

      Nah, that was just mocked up, it was welded back in after that, at 9:19 you kinda can see it. And it’s holding up amazingly, still kinda looking for tie rod ends that will work well with the kit without heavy modification, but other than that it’s great!!

    Did you have to put spacers in the rear with this kit so you don’t get uneven wear?

    • @RustbeltMechanic

      The wheels are 22x12 with a -44 offset. Tires are 37x13.50

  • @Kobafied
    @Kobafied Před 5 lety

    Why did you have the lift components sprayed a lighter color? BTW, the components look to be high quality and a very clean install.

    • @RustbeltMechanic
      @RustbeltMechanic  Před 5 lety

      Wayne Tjornhom to give contrast to all the dark parts and it’s sprayed in the raptor liner, so it’s way tough.

    • @Kobafied
      @Kobafied Před 5 lety

      Rustbelt Mechanic , I get the bed liner concept but I’ve never seen light grey used. I’ve seen contrast with bright colors.

    Those PPE tie rods are threaded internally all the way so just trim them

    Wait so you can fit 37s with 7” BDS suspension with no problem?

    • @RustbeltMechanic
      @RustbeltMechanic  Před 5 lety

      Kind of...I’ll do an update video on the next few weeks. But I did a full NorCal on a video and the truck sitting perfectly level only rubs slightly in reverse. I’ll be going for no rub at all in the next month or so with a mod for this.

    • @duramax_danthaman8888
      @duramax_danthaman8888 Před 5 lety

      I really wanna run 37s on my lbz but seems like getting a bigger lift is the way to go. Would lift keys be best to fit 37s with a 6” lift?I really want a kelderman air lift but that’s just time and money.

    • @RustbeltMechanic
      @RustbeltMechanic  Před 5 lety +1

      If you don’t want rubbing get a bigger lift, but 7” Lift is cutting it close and still has minor rubbing even with a full NorCal. I plan on getting the 5” Lift leaf springs for the rear and adding a 2” block, then turning my front keys up to match, that will clear everything.

    How lond did it take to figure out the abs line needed to be on the tie rod end side and not the caliper side lmao... Good video though thats how u know its real lol
