Thank you. Cam got messed up on a trip and no idea why. Turns out 2 items were setup to allow motion detect which inhibited menu access, and time to power down which shut it off regularly and soon after starting a trip. Both needed to be off and it works fine now. Much appreciation for this video! 👏👏🌟
What happens when the sd card is full? Does it automatically write over the old video

This is my very first dash cam and I had no idea how to use so I watched quite a few videos and had to google quite a few of the settings, like what quality should I choose 1M, 2M, or 3M, etc and/or What was 50hrz vs 60hrz difference, etc and I learned quite a bit. Thank you. I just bought this exact same camera at Radio Shack here in Mexico and, you are right, the instruction manual is bad. It also didn't help that it was in Spanish and there was no online manual available. This video helped a ton especially since I'm about to go on a week long road trip.

Do you know how to connect it to the app that it comes with it asks me to connect to the dashcams wifi but there’s no option to turn that on in the dashcam

If I remember, in the video he discourages use of the app. You can load videos directly from the camera to a PC via a usb-C to usb cable.

@@MiniTrucklol I used the one that came with the camera. It is 32GB, but I suspect you could use one with more memory than that, but I don't know for certain. When you use an sd card for memory in just about any electronic device it usually needs to be formatted to that device before you use it. There is an option to do so in the menu of the camera.

Awesome video, many thanks for explaining the big silver button. My manual says nothing about it. I do have a question. Is there a way to shutoff the second camera and just record on the front? My dashcam is mounted behind my GPS and I don't use the rear facing camera. It just records the back of the GPS, so it's useless. I'm hoping there is a way to turn it off and save SD space.
Another good thing to know is the mount uses a 15mm ball. That means you can replace the suction cup with a Scosche MagicMount Base. I'm testing one now because the suction cup keeps popping off in the Florida heat. I'll let you know.
I was unable to play back videos from this camera but discovered my mistake. I had formatted the card on my laptop. It will not work that way. You must format the card using the format feature on the camera! You explain this camera very well, thank you!

pi think that parking wake is going to wake the camera wherever you shift to R but you need to install that red wire first
Where that red wire goes to? And what's that R function? I have no clue about how those work, as far as I know the "R" function that appears in the camera is to reset the system

Thx for the info bro! Definitely avoid the Chinese apps. The Chinese cheap smart watches do the same thing. They have spyware and other bad stuff, its been found and confirmed already!

Thank you, the manual that comes with the camera is useless. But I have a bigger problem now: the video clips are supposed to be AVI, but all the video players I have tried complain that the format is not recognized and doesn't match the extension. Any idea?

My cam just stays off when I plug it in but the light is on so not sure why the display stays dark any tips to fix that?

Hello! I have the same dash cam as yours. My problem is that it's not continuously recording. It usually stops about a min and then continues recording again. Would you know how to fix that issue?
Same issue here it's seem that it has a bad battery and that is why it's not continusely recording despite that it's connected to the USB, I hope someone help us with that.

I just bought the same car camera from Tictok. I will agree 100% that the instructions are tiny and hard to understand. Thank you for an easy, well-made video instructional video. One small question lingers in my mind about this product. Even though it says to only use a 32GB card. Could a 64GB card be used for more video files? Also, this camera is truly on point as far as functionality and video quality is concerned in my book!
The SD card I used was over 32gb, so you should be okay.
@JeremyHill Good to know that the Camera can use a larger GB memory card than the "Instructions" say to use.

I have a question, the dash cam illumination light in internal and rear cam does not turn on, should the red wire be connected to the backlight of the car for it to function for night mode?

i bought this and put it in my car. what i could gather is it automatically started recording. when the car was turned on. it was late so i decided to play with it the next day. well the next day get in the car and camera urned on with car. I assumed it was recording. got hit by a dump truck head on a few minutes after leaving my house. i thought great its on video. but when i finally came across your video and learned how to access play back the first video started the moment i took the camera off the wind shield AFTER the accident. nothing before. Just my bad luck. why would it show that it was recording but not actually save the video? could i have accidentally deleted the video without accessing any menus? i could not even figure that out when I took it down so i just decided to wait til i got back homme. tried to view on laptop but could not get my computer to recognize it. then watched your video and thought great let me try that. and nothing. wtf? i dont understand how come this video is not there, btw. nothing from the night before when i first installed it either. not one thing untill i took it down. then from there all kinds of videos and pictures. i am so devestated over these events.

Go into Menu by holding M then use Arrows to scroll up and down until on Date then click OK using Arrow buttons to change numbers clicking OK when each data field is completed. Hope this info helps.
So, how many hours until the videos get overwritten? Is it automatically gonna be overwritten or do i have to select it from the menu?
The amount of hours you get depends on the size of your memory card. The footage will be overwritten automatically once the card is full.
I read online that an 8GB records approx 1hr of 1080p video, so 32GB would hold approx 4hrs. Once memory card is full then oldest videos will be overwritten first, unless you have "locked" a video by pressing M during an active recording, or if the dash cam G-sensor detected an accident while recording and automatically locked the video for you.

Parking wake does not drain any power. It will work as long as the build-in battery is sufficiently charged. If the battery is empty it will not start.
