  • When you’re the most sold truck for over 45 years, the Ford F-150 needs to stay ahead of the game to stay on top. For 2021, that’s exactly what they did. The King Ranch was the first time I had driven an F-150 since I test drove my father’s new 2012 model. Prior to that was his 2009, and then my favorite was his 1985 which I grew up with. We can say that he’s always been a Ford guy. They’ve always been reliable to him except for the 1985 model which we’ve come to the conclusion was cursed after it had multiple carburetors fail within a month.
The 2-tone colors reminded me of my father’s 1985 model that had 2 shades of brown/tan. The white of the 2021 was extremely bright with a large amount of pearl added to the paint. Despite the wheels being 20” tall, they still had a fairly tall Pirelli Scorpion tire to help with any rugged terrain you may encounter. Despite the aggressive tread pattern, the wheel and tire combo, produced a smooth and quiet ride.
The King Ranch greets you with more brown leather that Ford has labeled Java. There’s also King Ranch logos stitched to the seats and stamped on the brushed metal interior door handles. It’s not all about looks, the seats also provide great comfort with the added massage function.
The infotainment screen helped keep you connected to everything in the truck. The wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless charging, made for a cable free connection. The big screen allowed split projection with your music in a smaller section and your Apple Maps in the bigger area. To add to the experience, the King Ranch had the B&O sound system with a total of 18 speakers. The speaker’s positioning offered a true surround experience with speakers on the headliner and in the headrest.
Under the hood, we had the 3.5L PowerBoost hybrid engine. Ours was equipped with the most powerful 7.2kW Pro Power system. Click on the link below to see the different levels and their capabilities. We loved the power that the hybrid system helped deliver in an extremely smooth way.

There’s a reason why the Ford F-150 name has lead sales for so long. Growing up with Ford trucks, I can say that the new 2021 model has that feeling that made me love my father’s 1985 model.

Try not grasping the door handle while pressing the lock button. Your fingers on the backside of the handle is what unlocks the door and won't lock properly if you're holding it like that.

That would make sense. I figured I was doing something wrong. Do you have an F150?

I know I'm a little late to the party, but I'm aiming for a '23 King Ranch with a 5.0. Absolutely adore these trucks 🥰🥰🥰

The King Ranch interior is really nice. Are there any particular options you were looking to get?

@@Revmatchmedia pretty much the tow trailer package, all the best performance specs, the flat interior work surface for sure, I'll stick with the 20s for the tires because they match the truck. If I get bigger tires it would be after slightly lifting the truck, but I might not even do that since I like the stance as it is. Haha

@@Tactical_DZ “I’m not going to modify it”. I’ve heard and said that many times lol 😉. The flat work surface is awesome and one of my favorite things from Ford. Enjoy your truck!

The camera that didn't work I believe is the aux camera that is used for the ford customer-placed trailer camera.

That Bronze and Star White looks really good together. What is the payload on that particular truck? I have a fully loaded 502A Lariat on order and wonder what kind of hit on payload I'm going to take moving from my '19 502A EcoBoost to the '22 PowerBoost. Yeah, you can't have your hand on the inside of the handle when you use the button on the handle to lock the truck. Just extend your index finger and push the button. When your hand is inside the handle you are telling the truck to unlock.
The zone lighting is independent of the hybrid, most F-150s have that feature.
6.5 ft is the longest bed available with the SuperCrew cab. Regardless, the turning radius is large on the F-150 for certain.

I have a 2010 ram Laramie with only 4 0k miles…. Don’t drive much cuz of the mpg and I have a 2015 mustang gt premium performance pack with 27k miles. I understand there would be a possible overage at the end but also if I do I’d sell them myself to avoid loosing a lot of money trading them in.

@@android-ud2nf I've driven 2019 and newer Rams and liked the ride in those a bit more. The biggest downside was the poor turning radius and front suspension was a bit soft.
