I can correct: "Now its just sulfur hexafluoride, AND I NEED TO *BREATHE"*
Cartoons have squeaky voices because they have helium in their lungs making them able to blow balloons that float up 🎈
that’s reasonable
Why do you even exist
If the atmosphere was made of helium then the helium would be just the same mass as the normal air. It would be just a normal air filled ballon
Hahaha 😂😂🤣🤣
You know, that actually makes sense.
What if you pop the ballons? Will an SF6 filled one have a lower sound blast than a regular one?
Yeah i asked myself too
as far as sf6 goes, sounds expensive
It would sound the same since the gas inside is SF6 not the gas outside. That means the travelling sound does not interact with SF6 very much. So, slightly, yes, however not noticeably.
Also, it would be different sounding if the gas outside was to be more or less dense, obviously. The only reason that the balloons filled with helium and SF6 would sound different is if some got in front of the sound waves as they travelled from the balloon to your ear.
Wow, interesting, they need to try that
Attach a helium balloon to a sulfur hexaflouride balloon, and see if you can make the two balloons reach equilibrium.
That sounds like a cool idea.
Envelo Envelope It sounds interesting but I doubt it work, either it would act like an oxygen balloon and sink normally or sulfur hexafluoride would make a stronger downward force then the upward force of helium. Pretty much, it would most likely sink. But it might just float around not going up or down who knows??
Shiny Ghastly not if there’s more helium
Jamaican Cheddar Then I misunderstood, I thought you would have put equal amounts.

what if you tie a helium balloon and a sulfur hexafluoride balloon together?
Nate said that SF6 is heavier than air than helium is lighter than air so it would sink but slower. basically SF6 pulls more powerfully than Helium pushes.
That’s what I was looking for
@@sethlush7575 they are actually pretty equal though, helium being six times lighter than air and sulfur hexafluoride being six times heavier than air, it would still sink, but I feel that's more just gravity.
Stationary balloons and someone will get wooshed
Because they’re no where near as dense either helium just flies above it, or it spins and spins and spins

Can you try and make a balloon levitate in mid air by filling it with helium and hexafluoride combined? I wonder if it's possible 🤔
...you could as well attach a small weight to it..
Air in a balloon makes it fall. The balloon still has weight, you know.
@@keyboardguru4212 helium
Why would you need hexaflouride? Normal airy air + co2 from breath + the weight of the balloon itself is heavier than airy air itself, so to 'levitate' is you would just need to find the right mix of airy air + helium.
you forgot helium verses SF6 (connect the ballooons with string and see who wins
SF6 would win
ThomBock chungus would win
My thoughts exactly. And potentially fill the balloons perfectly to even out the forces between the two.
@@thombock3900 but by how much? Would it outright dominate or be slowed a tiny bit? Like the air helium VS pure helium test. Idk just a thought
Lmao, This is random but would be fun.
10:14 it happened because the permanent marker that you used has acids in it that slowly weakend the balloon that it already under pressure
But that wouldn’t make them all go off at the same time
@@nick.100 I haven't thought of that. maybe there was something at the bottom of the tank.or it could be that being jostled around and coming in contact with each other triggered it. anybody else got ideas?
Elad Daniel I think your right, the acids deteriorated the balloon not at the same time but the jostle popped it

@@wifighostcruiser9665 oof
Just a thought what would happen if you put the scale inside of the box and then fill the box with the sulfur hexafluoride would the scale show a reading due to the weight of the gas applying a downward force
Yes. Regular air has weight that can be measured in grams in a full balloon vs an empty balloon. No balloon needed for sulfur hexafluoride since it's heavier than air and can be contained in a open container.
A full balloon (of air) and an empty balloon will weigh the same on a scale.
@@andrewfoust3227 negative, air has mass, try it buddy
The air in a balloon has mass, but it displaces just as much air as you put in the balloon.
The buoyancy from the air it displaces cancels the weight of air inside, and if you weigh it you'll just end up with the mass of the balloon.
Helium has mass too, but weigh it on a scale, I'll wait.
@@andrewfoust3227 did you even watch the video? Condensed air in a balloon weighs more than the air it displaces.... Do some research

4:48 Cali sounds like my teacher
At 10:07, I feel the reason about why the balloons randomly exploded, is probably because they were sitting in the bin with the Sulfur Hex-a Fluoride for awhile and all it needed was the slightest bit more of pressure to make them explode (because as soon as Nate threw one balloon in the bin, it popped the one it hit)
4:49

Anyone else noticed the black glove in the background?
11:07 a bit touchy there Callie? 🤔😉
I ship them tbh.
You know the game we all played as kids; don’t let the balloon touch the ground?
You should do it with regular breath, one with 1/4 helium, 3/4 oxygen . One with 1/4 sulfur hexafluoride, 3/4 oxygen and one with 1/4heliun, 1/4 suffer hexafloride and 1/2 oxygen. See which is easier to play with.
Yeah. That’d be interesting to watch.
Can you actually breathe something like a mixture of 80% helium 20% oxygen? I mean does it feel like normal air and can you survive with this mixture?
The air we breathe is just about 80% nitrogen 20% oxygen, so pretty sure you can. I believe they mix it with oxygen so kids dont accidentally suffocate themselves with pure helium.
Yeah I'll just stick to the V Changer thanks
A decent vocoder should change your voices like those gases but without the deleterious effects. :-)
Why do I see you every where?
Probably because I *AM* everywhere; kind of like Santa Clause on Christmas Eve. ;-)
My green cheek conure weighs 68 grams. If you had a bigger balloon, you could technically outweigh him. With a balloon.

What happens if you pour sulfur hexafluoride into the the middle of a cloud from liquid nitrogen or dry ice?
put a chunk of dry ice in sulfur hexafluoride
I found myself hoping youd have placed the tumbler with the water and dry ice in the tub along with the sulfur hexaflouride...would have been cool to see how it may have layered/ striated.
Try to tie two baloons containing helium and sulfur hexafluoride and maybe everything together
What Happens When You Freeze,Melt Or Destroy Contact lenses?
What happens? Same thing that happens when you freeze melt or destroy glass or plastic
They broke
Freeze dry ice cream
Try to make homemade nerf gun attachments
Now try to make balloony as strong as possible and invent a "ballon conformal coating" just like doofenschmirtz invented so his friend won't die
what probably caused those balloons to bust is the difference in pressure between the outside gas and any inside gases eventually overcoming the material strength of the balloon itself as even when are seems completely still there is still some pressure differential between various sections of it which causes a increased pressure which can rip through lighter lighter things as though it were being pressed on by something more solid
