Saw them at Red Rocks in April, 2024, same tour... Went into the concert thinking of the Thirteen Step and all of its meaning given every song pertains to my deceased son, including this one (he came out pumped after a stent in a rehab facility). What I didn't expect was the realization that this was all written 20+ years ago when Maynard must have been in much different place mentally. I expected to be sadly reassured like I am each and every time I listen to the album (still to this day can not listen to Gravity...), but Maynard was playful and upbeat throughout the entire concert. I came away with some sort of weird sense of relief... His voice too... OMG,.. so pitch perfect and pure. We're all lucky!
Josh Freese, has the grooves in check so naturally, and no where near a Carrey Kit.! As usual Maynard is on top notch..legend...again good backing vocals from Billy not easy to do while playing lead! Love your posts!
Their performance was amazing considering the circumstances. I also have video of “Judith”, “The Outsider”, and “The Package”, however it was taken down. Hopefully it goes back up.
Great video! Quiet song anyway but they sound amazing! I can't believe Maynard is 60 and still kicking ass with all of his bands. I hope he's still up there in 20 years giving us these gems.
Stand alone show in between Sessanta Tour. In fact I heard because of the storms in Colorado the tour trucks were unable to get their gear to this show on time, so they rented gear last minute. Kind of bad ass that they were able not cancel and still sound badass without their own instruments.
Why is Josh wearing such a small hat? Is Billy wearing sunscreen on his dome? Is that Maynard in a suit jacket ? WTF?…. Maynard, finish my tax return you bastard! 😝
hmmmm yeah this track really needs more time in the oven live.. it's just wayyyy too empty the way it is. The album is stunning.. this is.... pretty average really.
