      I'm running the Dominator HP8 slip-on with the dB killer in. I slightly shortened the dB killer to get the sound how I wanted it

    Does this bike go from 3th gear on wheelie ? Now I'm driving CBR1000RR and it goes from 1,2,3th gear easly on wheelie without using clutch, but I need more comfortable bike and I'm thinking about 890R.

    • @bikepipes
      @bikepipes  Před 11 měsíci +3

      I am no wheelie expert at all, but I'm pretty sure that seating further back and pulling on the handlebar could get the front wheel up without clutch in 3rd, I've never tried though. In 2nd gear it wheelies very very easily just using the throttle

      i drive the 790 (2018) with 105ps, with and without clutch 1 and 2 gear easy, 3 is pretty hard to get it up :)

    • @bikepipes
      @bikepipes  Před 9 měsíci +1

      @@ibratasp03 I've poppin some power wheelies lately and with the 890 + a 15 tooth sprocket I can do it in 3rd by pulling on the bars while smashing the throttle

    How come you went for the GP over the R…….bouncing between buying either at the moment.

    • @bikepipes
      @bikepipes  Před 9 měsíci +2

      Couple of things other than the price:
      - I prefer the non-R position. I am 6'2 (1.87cm) and I feel a bit more cramped on the R due to the rear foot sets and the flatter handle bar. I am more comfortable on the non-R.
      - the suspensions/brakes on the R are top notch but I use my bike to go to work everyday (on top of weekend rides) and for me the R suspensions are a bit too firm and the brakes a tad too aggressive. To be honest I was worried the suspensions of the non-R wouldn't be great (especially since they're not adjustable and I'm 90kg) but they've been doing a fantastic job so far, whether the bike is ridden hard or just commuting to work.
      To me the R is a weapon when it comes to fast riding but the non-R is just a great all-rounder that is both comfortable and very quick on twisties.
      Hope that helps!

      @@bikepipesHey, how comfortable is your knee angle on the bike? I am 188cm with a 88cm inseam and am wondering if this bike is still comfortable enough for me. Also for longer ride outs how is your experience? Did you also test other bikes before deciding for this one? Do you maybe also have experience on a street triple or z900 as I am choosing between those bikes.
      Best regards! :)

      @@DaveDBD Hey Dave, I am 187cm (not too sure about inseam though) and I am comfortable, obvisouly the legs are somewhat bent compared to an adventure bike for example but I have never had any pain or discomfort resulting from it. Earlier this year I took the bike on a 4-day / 1600km trip in the Alps and I was not expecting it to perform so well, even comfort wise. I have tested a 675 Street triple and although both bikes have great chassis/suspensions/brakes, the engine is day and night depending on what you want. The street triple is smooth and refined, lacks a bit of low end but becomes very lively once you let her rev, the KTM on the other hand is much more brutal, it pulls hard from down low and keep doing so all the way up to the limiter, it is quite impressive. Although I am sure a 765 street triple and a 890 Duke would have similar acceleration, the KTM feels more powerful thanks to the torque.
      KTM's engines are quite something, if you get the chance to compare it to a Street or a z900 I am sure you will understand what I mean.
      Hope that helps, let me know if you have other questions!
      Cheers ✌
