- This is the Time Frame built as a personal project. The strobe light makes it quite difficult to film without getting flickering video but I did my best. If you have an questions feel free to comment below.
I was considering whether it would be possible to have simulate wind in a living landscape painting using this-tiny plastic trees with leaves, and moving grass-but overheating might be a bit of a problem if the ballast weighed too much or if it had multiple coils (unless it had a very quiet fan installed that would actually make it feel like there was warm wind coming from the painting). Really cool design idea, regardless.
Very cool! Do you happen to have a circuit diagram for it? or a picture of the connections between the components? That would help me greatly! Thanks!
Wow great work :)
Dude, you rock
Awesome, I would love to recreate this project and create a custom open source circuit board for it and some lasercutting files to help people make it themselves. Do you have the schematics you used available? Ill make a video and be sure to mention your project in it.
Unfortunately I don't, the sketches of the circuit have been lost in all my notes somewhere... I probably would change the circuit a bit anyway so the electromagnet ran at 12V rather than 5. Someone made an Instructablesfor a Time Frame though which you may find helpful as I think they have all the circuits on there: www.instructables.com/id/TimeFrame-a-Time-Portal-to-Put-on-Your-Desk/
Could it be done using two 555 ic's?
I got the Original and its a big different to this, but good work
Maybe add a few more knobs, and have the strobe frequency oscilate between a maximum and a minimum value?
That would definitely give a nice effect! I will have to try it if I get time.
Hi Isaac,
We are building something similar at the moment. The strobe light makes it almost impossible for us to record it without flickering, even when the eye can’t see a flickering anymore. Do you have any advise on how to record it?
It's a difficult thing to do and mostly just took a lot of messing around with camera settings and the strobe frequency. Ambient light also seemed to help with the camera flicker but can make the effect look worse so it's a bit of a compromise.
can you send me strobe scope circuit diagram... plz..
Hi, I'm sorry but I never actually created a schematic for this project.
It's giving me a headache.
