Guys, I have to say I'm shocked at how easy it was to install the remote start for my 2014 Highlander. Everything was just as the man says in the video and in the instructions that came. Maybe 15 minutes start to finish for me and I'd consider myself an intermediately capable owner at best in doing my own wiring. If you can pull trim panels away, you can install this unit. Everything is already there and is plug and play.
I'm now lamenting all the cold winter mornings that could have been avoided had I done this sooner!
Oh well, I'm keeping this car a couple more years at least, so looking forward to more warm car days to come (or air-cooled for the summer).
I don't mind the auto shut-off upon the door opening. This is apparently true of all the Highlander starters, even the OEM. Big deal, I have to press the start button on the dash again. At least I know no one can try to gain entry and take off with a running vehicle.

Why not use the black lead with the clip? It's going to come loose eventually.

Will the truck get heat while remote start is on? Sounds crazy . I have the same remote start on a 2013 fusion . The fan will run but no hot air unless ignition cylinder is turned . Seems like a bcm issue .
Hello, on that year fusion, you will need to take the vehicle to the dealer and have them turn on the oem remote start function. That is what controls the temperature. I did everything in the instructions and everything went as shown in the video until I went to test. Nothing happened and I can't get the car to start even using the push to start. I have a 16 highlander its the 3.5 v6 limited trim. Any suggestions?

Is it the same for the 2015 Toyota Highlander Limited as the XLE? Also i am looking at the1 button remote 1500' range setup over the factory fob. Does that change anything or does it wire the same?
Yes the same installation for the Highlander Limited as the XLE. The wire is the same for the 1-button kit.

I recently bought the kit for my lexus. I followed all the instructions and video. Apparently, the module was no good because it didn't flash the led lights during the programming phase. I had to get my car towed to a shop because even though it wasn't lighting up for programming, it triggered my cars anti theft system. The people who Michael in particular was very rude and wanted to say it was my car that was the problem. Be careful with this company if they send out a faulty kit they will point the finger at you and your car. Pitiful customer service and care. I'll find another company to get remote starts from.
