As others had said, this is amazing. Was kind of surreal seeing such a high effort video in relation to this show

I'd gladly pay money for the entire show to be animated like this
....I mean, I'd gladly pay money to have the original show removed from existence so maybe we can work something out
A 2d animated kong movie would be interesting too. I think can be done, i mean dc pumps them out on regular basis and most of them pretty good. I think we need some more 2d animated movies to make a come back

I think "So my idea is that a tertiary character wins and puts DK and Krool's severed heads on pikes outside his fortress" would be a tough pitch to Nintendo.
@@joshuagraham3854 well I think a teritary character winning could be good but I think keeping dk and k rool alive could turn to this "arch nemeses work together to defeat the teritiary character that they don't like".
There was a CGI cartoon back in the day. Donkey Kong Country (The name of the series) came out 1997.
I still have vivid memories of the trailer for Legend of the Crystal Coconut on the Hot Newz 64 VHS tape I got from Toys R Us promoting DK64. This is rad.

This is Marshall D. Teach’s sea shanty he sings with his crew when he’s about to look Wano
This is amazing! As a massive Donkey Kong Country fan I smiled the entire time! Pure nostalgia.
Nostalgia is one of the most intoxicating things in the world and I love it. If it was a drug it’d be illegal. 😜
Ifkr. There were so many things from the old show that this video was just the biggest nostalgia trip just as much as it was an immensely well-done redo of an old childhood show song. Legit, Nintendo needs to hire these mf's if they EVER plan on doing a new DKC cartoon show.
My favorite detail is Cranky reading the Smash letter. This is absolutely incredible and I would love to see a full-fledged DKC movie that looked like this
Him getting struck down by a door is now my canonical reason as to why he’s not there.
@@TyranntX
Cranky writing:Dear Sakurai, I won't be able to go to your event because A DAMN KREMLIG PIRATE OPENED THE DOOR OF MY HOUSE AND SENT ME TO FLY AWAY FROM DK ISLAND WHILE I WAS READING YOUR LETTER! so I won't be able to go. Atte: Sorry Cranky Kong. 😂
If Nintendo's making movies regarding their all-stars, no question, Mario and Donkey Kong deserve to have this style of animation and well-written songs for these types of sequences/moments.
For years I'd wished the DKC show would get some love and come back - somewhere, somehow. You really did it justice, this is incredible!
What if Nintendo sees this and decides: “You know what, I think this would make a great revival series or movie of Donkey Kong. Let’s get these guys who made this on the project and make it happen.”
Fuck amazon, i purchased the pre order for the new dvd and old one that was out of stock and i was charged for both only to be told they were out of stock and was refunded.. i was like HELL NOOOOO KEEP MY MONEY AND SEND ME THEM DVDS! and they just refunded me... WHyyyyyy?!?!?!
I don’t care what people say: THIS is now the music video for Alestorm’s version of Pirate’s Scorn!
I mean, it is... it's the same guy who did their P.A.R.T.Y. video. They likely just don't have the rights to all this stuff so it can't be 'official'.
Bro really pulled up to DK’s home, found out the Coconut was not there and wasn’t even upset about it. Then he pulled up on K.Rool and DK while they were fighting then took to coconut.
Legend
That grin when he saw the empty case in Cranky's house...
"The hunt is on!"
Funky Kong just sitting around baked is hilarious.
This is breathtaking.
The high quality animation, the artstyle, the colors, all the little details, references and easter eggs.
THIS IS WHAT A CALL A MASTERPIECE! I love the DK games and have a nostalgic soft spot for the TV Show.
Makes me want a full movie in this style, made with just as much care.
Ah, a fellow fan of the tv show.
Good times were had every time I watched that show. Scurvy and his crew were always a treat.
My favorite episode is still the Christmas expo episode, where Klump and Scurvy were revealed to be brothers. I still have to fight back tears after that reveal.
It’s insane how this is like a full-blown studio production level of quality and like. incomprehensibly beautiful animation. It’s incredible that works like this exist, and that people as talented as you can put so much work into turning such a niche song into _this_ purely out of passion. This is truly inspiring to animators like myself, so please: keep doing what you love, this is truly one of the best animated works ive seen EVER!!
1 million views...as it should be.
This show would have been legendary if it was animated like this.
@@pluggedin-the-ratbird I only 3d Animation was that advanced back then.
As much as I ironically love the motion capture of the original cartoon, this goes to show what a more cartoonish and high budget modern DK cartoon could look like. It’s so lively and I love the liberties taken with the designs, especially the funny monkees. It’s a shame the DKC property has fallen off the starboard side in recent years, and something like this would probably never be realized into a show. But if it were give this man full creative control!
I think you need to apologise to my family.
Because I've been singing this song so much it's driving them crazy.
if you got a good voice then they're negative ppl.....however if your voice is ear wrecker then i guess their complains are right....only you would know.....try it with online friends to see if it send them shiver down their spine or if they think your fine XD(make sure to ask them to be honest to avoid sugarcoated answer).....continue singing with peeps around if your voice is actually fine ;)
Good lord, how long did this take to make?! It is so incredibly high quality that I assumed it was officially Nintendo endorsed… then realized it was an Alestorm song.
The animation quality is out of this world. It’s like a big budget music video with so much care put into it- I couldn’t tell whether it was 2D or 3D. That is a testament to how well this is made!
The beautiful charm of the DK characters being honored and made manifest with the goofy but tense gags and atmosphere.
This is honestly one of the best things I’ve seen in two decades of watching CZcams. I never even checked the length of the video with how invested I was with this!
...Well. That was a love letter to whole decades of animation, and an entire video game franchise. *Wow*.
No words beyond that.
Small detail I love: when DK confronts K. Rool, he heads straight for the coconut, not a punch. Protecting the island comes first, not petty revenge! (that comes second)
My man just rolled up and murdered the entire DKC cast with ease, what a legend
This is the coolest animation I've seen in a while. Good job!
this feels like out of a Donkey Kong movie, freaking amazing work, makes me wonder what Illumination will do with Donkey Kong
They’ll screw him, and probably the whole movie, up. Because Illumination struggles with creativity above all else.
@@mrviking2mcall212 Considering Seth Rogen will be voicing DK in the Mario Movie, I wouldn’t be surprised.
@@mrviking2mcall212 on one hand maybe, on the other hand Nintendo is very protective of their IP‘s and get a lot of say in how they’re portrayed. (detective Pikachu)
imagine a tv show with this kind of animation and art style.
Damn the skulls on spikes at the end, brutal
This is insane. Good work all
Didn't expect to see Kruggsmash here (hope no forgotten beasts have eaten your dwarves yet). Also, I've only seen clips of the original DKC Show, but I like fan animations and I'm so glad I clicked on this vid. The talent and love poured into it shows.
Awesome beans! I thought the music sounded familiar!
How does this exist, lol. Amazing.
Kaptain Scurvy’s finest hour. I’d watch a show just about him. Seriously making scurvy a kickass pirate is a stroke of genius.
This should've shown up in my recommended feed. That it even had to be linked to me is a sin.
When I was a kid, this was my favorite song from the old DK TV show. The animation wasn’t all that great even for the time, but songs like Pirate’s Scorn were one of the reasons the show was something of a success. Was a crazy hit in France from what I heard. But if they ever brought it back in this style, it being a hit wouldn’t be in question.
imagine how insane it would be if skurvy got introduced like this
this is absolutely fantastic!!
Tell me about it. As a die hard fan of that cartoon this is absolute treasure. Fun fact: I was watching the OG version of this song right when this video came out. Also can I have a word with you about why you dissed on the best block in minecraft? That being Birch wood. I can think of 1 million uses for it right now, it makes a good Zebra themed house and..... Ok now i see your point.
As a rare Unironic Donkey Kong Country Show Liker and Alestorm Nerd, this is the best thing I've seen all week. Nay, all YEAR. All DECADE, even!
When I was a confused teenager I got a little figure of Skurvy and he's meant a lot to me as a good luck charm. As a character he represents the fun, campy villain pirate aesthetic I love so much. So to see his iconic song covered by one of my favourite bands was absolutely mind-blowing, and now this just made it even better!
The animation and character designs here are stunning, the style is so, so good, I'm living for all the character cameos (rip Bluster) and everything just had me smiling like a dork. I'm just overflowing with good emotions right now. This is like something I had in my head for ages but not the skill to make it - and you just went and made it. Flawless, absolutely flawless. Thanks so much for realizing a lil dream I had for so long and keep up the great work!
Oh, sweet, there are other unironic lovers of that show out there. :) And yeah, Skurvy is one of the best characters!
I love how a fan project has better animation than the original source.
I still want Nintendo to make a new Donkey Kong series in this style...
man it is so beautiful
Never would've imagined you could make Kaptain Skurvy of all characters into a badass.
There's a lot of great references to the show in this, but my favourite attention to detail in this was including the three taps of Cranky's cane to open the coconut's container, at 1:52 (having it on beat with the music made it even better).
It's those little things that go to show just how passionate this team are for the source material.
Cranky reading an invitation to Smash Bros right before he got smashed himself killed me
There's also the fun little detail of Klump being the only one of K. Rool's crew to have been spared at the very end, since I imagine Skurvy probably wouldn't want to hurt his little brother.
My 100th time watching this, and I only just now realized that Bluster is the one being made to walk the plank
Watching this again after Return to Krocodile Isle just makes me want to hear DK, K Rool, and everyone else talk in the original voices from the show! Or possibly from whoever voices them in the DKC Movie... Pray that it becomes a reality!
1:13 You’re good, you’re good, you’re good you’re good, aaaannnnddd stop
2:47 Oh hey, it looks like he spared his brother Klump on the right.
You know how to really sweat the details.
I think you can also see a huge kremlin with a militar look so he also might have forgiven the other
I love how Klump’s just looking at the whole place engulfed in flames like “whooh, this is a lot”
This looks like a high-budget, late 2000s Disney movie, in terms of animation quality.
Love shanties
I can’t get enough of this!
This was so good. Like, so so so good. This was amazing. The animation, art, cameos, not a single thing was compromised on. Oh my god.
I can't put into words how much i love this.
Thank you for all the effort!!!
My daughters are obsessed with this video lol. They demand that it becomes a show.
Bluster being forced to jump off the plank. That's what you get for selling cheap quality gunpowder at upmarket price to pirates
From the thumbnail alone I can already tell you put in more care about DK as a whole and his anniversary more than Nintendo has by a mile.
This was a fun watch!
Love how Cranky decorated the wall of his hut with that awkward photo of DK sitting down from the intro. This was amazing.
Just realized a year later that Cranky is reading a Smash Invite LOL all the little background "blink-and-you-miss" details are genius.
Aww, I liked how Klump was next to his throne because he's his brother! Nice touch! 😁
The animation is beautiful! Really loved this style!
It's been a long time since I last watched the original show. Now watching it again as an adult, I realize that I don't think my child brain ever appreciated what an absolute BANGER this song actually is.
In fairness, it took Alestorm's cover to truly raise this song to the level of "absolute banger".
@@gaborkiss1425 There was a show called Doney Kong Country with early 90s CG. There are a few DVDs and VHS circulating around you might be able to find.

I'm weirdly glad to see that Skurvy didn't kill Klump at the end (I spotted him standing by the throne looking confused.) It's not Klump's fault his old boss was a jerk.
Well, canonically in the show, they're brothers and were on good terms with each other.

I would like to point out that Cranky Kong got a letter from Smash Bros. (as seen by the smash symbol on the letter seal) the Skurvy kicked in the door probably broke his back in the process.
Perfect for a new Donkey Kong country Broadway musical

At times I can't tell if it's 3d emulating 2d really well, or if its the other way around. Remarkably done!
Why doesn’t this have 50 million views?
A great detail that I only just noticed was that he tapped Cranky's stick exactly three times to open the box.
I think it’s cool that scurvy using Diddy Kong’s guitar from DK 64

This is a masterpiece, I can't stop watching it... The animation, the style, the song, the focus on Skurvy and the little details (like having Klump up there with Skurvy at the end ;_; baby brotherrr) I adore every bit about this, thank you so much for putting in this effort and bringing it to life
