  • Let’s find out once and for all. In a 5 test head-to-head battle with the Roomba 980 vs Dyson 360 Eye, see which wins hands down with more efficient cleaning in a variety of challenging conditions. Thanks iRobot & Dyson for featuring in this video.
    In this review, we see how the 360 Eye cleans in a spiral fashion with a classic rotary brush to suck up dirt. In comparison, the Roomba 980 cleans in rows with rubber extractor heads - which are becoming more common within the iRobot vacuum cleaner range. But which works best?

    This video seemed like you picked out the 3 flaws in the Dyson. "Brush/vacuum volume, height, and a very shaggy rug".
    These robots aren't made to pickup large particles, merely keep a house clean of pet hair/dust. The Dyson has a bigger motor, filters, and cyclonic technology... So its taller....and the shag rug although the fairest test, most people do not have and most robots will grab.
    I've owned both, besides run time, bin size, and slowing down in low light...the Dyson performs the best and has the best build quality among ALL the competition.

      I don't have a Dyson, but I'm not impressed with the Roomba. Ours gets stuck on EVERYTHING. It eats cables, has sucked up credit cards and can't climb a thin (compared to that shag) carpet. The Roomba burrows under it and gets stuck. - I'm beginning to hate it.

    I have had the 360 Eye for over a year now and absolutely love it, I have 2 kids and a dog. I used to love Roomba's until we were given the Dyson for as a gift. They are great helpers with hard suction and tank treds that are still gentle for hardwood floors, this challenge also warrants the classic housekeeping saying "If its big enough it pick up, you don't have to vacuum it"

    I am using the Dyson 360 eye for nearly a year now. So how much dust did it collect over time? To empty the Dyson box I suck it with the big SEBO Automatic X1 vacuum cleaner. Finally after using the Dyson 360 eye for 9 months the big dust bag of the SEBO Automatic X1 was full, indicating the need of a new bag with a red light. :-)

    When I need to use a vacuum to clean my vacuum there is something wrong.........Roomba. I spent just as much time vac-ing the debris left when I removed and emptied the cup/pulling off pet hair off the rollers, as it takes the Roomba the vac the floor. Dyson v10....empty the cup and go period. Also many have said the Dyson 'learns' so the 1st time may be slow/random however subsequent vacs the performance improves.

Smart cleaning pattern, powerful suction, easy app. One thing that many reviews don’t post is the build quality. The Dyson 360 is built to last for years, not be worn out or replaced in a couple years.

      Hmmm after re-watching the video/reading other comments I can see where you're coming from Arthur. My GF and I actually decided on a manual, handheld vacuum over a robot anyway (bought it weeks ago, before you commented). After much deliberation, I had come to the conclusion any robot vacuum is not worth the high price tag considering they still get stalled/stuck and need emptied frequently due to a small waste bin. If you're constantly getting up to get a stuck vac/emptying a bin, I felt like just save some money and do the vacuuming yourself as well! On top of that, no robot vacuum will get as detailed of a cleaning as a human would. Going to use a regular vacuum until the technology advances so much that they basically can get unstuck and empty themselves.

  • @dburkek6693
    @dburkek6693 Před 6 lety +15

    You shouldn't let one of the competitors sponsor your video. So no surprise that the sponsor's vacuum won. Also, another review I watched gave exact cleaning times, and the Dyson was faster by a factor of 3, conflicting with your undetailed comment.

    • @WarrenNash
      @WarrenNash  Před 6 lety +3

      +D K Hi DK, Thanks very much for your comment. As I'm sure you can appreciate, testing the two robot vacuum cleaners isn't the cheapest of videos to produce. So it did require sponsorship in order to fund getting the two machines. I can assure you the 5 tests were performed under strict/fair conditions and each vacuum cleaner was filmed on the first run of their test. Hope that helps.

    Test #2 is pointless since everyone's furniture is different. If we know our furniture's gap and the height of the 360 from the datasheet, we can figure it out ourselves whether it fits our furniture. Save the time to show us other aspects like noise level -- these are things that we can't "feel" from the datasheet.

    Didn't realise there were Dyson fanboys.. who would have thought.. anyway, I've always bought Dyson however their vac is too chunky and clearly fails in the same tests that roomba had to do

  • @atanasgulev8985
    @atanasgulev8985 Před 6 lety +5

    Why the Dyson in the firs test with popcorn is full before the beginning of the test?
    Why don you say that Dyson can fit under most of the dining chairs and romba can not because the diameter is too big?
    I can not see real test comparison like how dust will extract because in daily use this is the more common situation?
    So there has no clear winner! I'm sure that I can make 10 other test that romba will FAIL!
    Do not fool the people!

    staged and obviously rigged video aside, unfortunately there's only one viable contender for me, and that's the Roomba 980, as the Dyson 360 STILL has not been released in Australia yet...unless you want to pay the outlandish AU$2k Amazon Australia are asking for it , where as they're selling the Roomba 980 for AU$1300 !!!

    Thanks! Great review, I nearly made the mistake of going for the Dyson. What mostly killed the deal was the hight and how it dead on the rug. I'm dispointed in Dyson attempt to reach out to this perticulaur market. I recommend they go back to the drawing board. Roomba all the way!

    Setting up a test of clearance that only 1 can clear isn't a fair comparison when you could have, for fairness, done a test that compares width that only the Dyson could have fit through? Setting up two tests of larger debris rather than say a test of 1 large debris and 1 fine debris again isn't a proper comparison. This video is so very clearly set up for 1 machine to win that I cant see how you can call this a comparison. Poorly executed sponsored video I'm afraid

  • @RionPhotography
    @RionPhotography Před 6 lety

      Kaleb's Life In the first test, the bin was already halfway full. Also, he pointed out the three major flaws of a Dyson. The only reason why the Dyson is larger is due to a cyclonic motor. i love the dyson because it is quieter than the roomba and it has a larger brush 😁

    All Dyson products are highly overrated and overpriced for their performance. We had a regular dyson vacuum that we bought for $400 and it would get constantly jammed and was not good and picking up crumbs. I switched to a Shark Professional vacuum for $300 and it works beautifully. And has way better suction!

      Doesnt matter as they both suck, Neato and Roborock pretty much have the high end market cleaned up now. Roomba is a shitty anachronism milking what's left of their brand recognition, and Dyson haven't done shit since their flop entry. Sorry but angry posts won't change that you got ripped off.

    So far so good with this vacuum. czcams.com/users/postUgkx8ISPQRRAfpAaX4msGjyodObTBnlj4T5g I was a little concerned to find it seems to be all plastic, but the reviews were good, so I'm hoping for the best. Very easy to assemble Recommened, and only attachments I've used so far work well, and are easy to use. Doing a good job on the new carpet in my bedrooms and stairs. Works well on the hardwood on my main floor too. Reasonable weight and cord length. I already knew from an earlier review that it wouldn't fit under furniture, but I can use my Eufy for that, so no problem - the high traffic areas that need a stronger suction was really what I bought this for. If it continues as it's started, it will be a good buy and well worth the money. I have had two Shark Rocket stick vacs in the past that are super easy to use, but the motors just don't last well, even with scrupulous cleaning of the filters. I'm hoping for better with this Bissell.
