- After their old arena fell through, the Arizona Coyotes have been forced to take up residence at ASU's 5,000 seat rink. Yesterday we talked about the progress of their lockerrooms... well, today we saw even more lol. See for yourself.

If this was a Canadian franchise Bettman would’ve been forced by the league to relocate 20 years ago.
Preach..
It’s because Bettman is part owner of the Coyotes. That’s why he is resisting so hard to move them. Look how fast he moved the Thrashers.
@@canadasugardaddysugardaddy1797 You are delusional.
The current owners are Alex Merule (95%) and Andrew Barroway (5%).
The league i.e. all the other owners (or "Bettman" for your big brain) has not owned the team since 2013.
@@raidersfromthenorth2425 sell the coyotes there owner is Atrocious they dont even have a competive roster its time Garry bettmen relocates the team obviously there has an evaluation of what City will re alighn them but its worth starting over rather then see the coyotes struggle only to end up failing ...
Oh really? If the Leafs or Canadians or Rangers were somehow in this situation, the NHL wouldn’t let them stay and play in whatever arena they could? They would immediately relocate an original 6 franchise?
Fuck off with this bullshit dude. The Jets and Nordiques relocated because the Canadian dollar was shit, attendance was waning in both cities, and everyone knows there’s more money to make in America. Stop spewing bullshit just because you‘re butthurt hockey exists outside of Canada.
Just relocate already 💀
bettman is an idiot, and so are the owners "trying" to make it grow in places where it is unsustainable ... and now with Matthews being a superstar from Arizona, they think somehow trying to keep it in Arizona is going to make is a sustainable market, when it clearly isnt. How many times must they go broke, or change ownerships, or change venues until this disaster finally sinks ?
Yes please
As a yotes fan, I hope they stay but they need their act together, or even earlier
Quebec city has a brand new state of the art arena that sits almost 19,000 waiting for a team but Bettman wants only desert cities to expand the number of fans. Can't even fill their arenas.
@@flaviusfake271 Quebec's QMJHL team fills that stadium...
The Coyotes may not be playing their best hockey, but they still deserve quality and support from the NHL. Those players play on a professional level, they deserve to have a facility reflect that. Bad move on the NHL for this. They could've at least done this all of this in the off season.
done what? the arena has been in the process of being built for a while and was not only just started in the offseason. they're making lemonade out of lemons.
I played junior hockey in Kitchener in the 90's and our locker room was way nicer. This is just sad on a professional level.
It’s a temporary one is only gonna be used for one season while the new arena is being built
Still looks way better lmao this is so ridiculous
@@slapshotjack9806 try three years. four at best. and that is IF the fkn thing gets built. merullo has a shaky credit rating on that one as to be able to pull this off financially.
@@slapshotjack9806 ya unfortunately its going to be more than 1 season
@@slapshotjack9806 new arena isn't even approved.
Im in Montreal and i can ear the Quebec City hockey fans screaming in the distance lmao.
The TV rights must be insanely high for the NHL to continue allowing this circus.
Yupp the arena is already built. It's called the Vidéotron Center, compare both lol that's a joke
I’d take any city over the shitshow in the desert, Quebec City, Kansas City, and Houston would all be better options than what is going on in Arizona, but Bettman has to double down on the desert and probably wouldn’t leave there until the Coyotes folded .
Unless the Canadian dollar improves Quebec city is out the question
The NHL fans are subsidizing this shiteshow.
@CWS and TKP 66-02 The reality is that no one in AZ gives a rat's ass about the Coyotes. Their whole existence is to provide cheap tickets to Canadian snow birds who spend winters there. Its cheaper to fly to Phoenix and watch the Habs play there than go to a Habs game in Montreal.
The fact they still have a franchise is beyond comprehension.
They’d be better off in San Diego
@@Brotha00 they'd be better off in Cuba
@@joedimaggio3687 🤣that’s good
Your videos started popping up in my feed the other day and I started watching, couldn't shake the feeling like I recognized you lmfao, nice to see EckhartsLadder has started rocking with some NHL content, keep up the great work brother!
Holy crap. I just put that together. -Tim and Eric exploding brain gif-
When a commissionaire cares more about maintaining a shitty market then playing a team in a hockey market
when a cheese cake eating moron just doesn't want to be proven wrong as commissionaire of the league. Bettman might of grown the revenue but staying in charge and keeping the coyotes alive is causing a decline in the sport.
embarrassing for an NHL organization.
Not saying its gonna happen, but can you imagine the Yotes going to the playoffs and having playoff games at this arena!?
The coyotes main locker room looks worse than some of the locker rooms I've seen playing hockey in the South and that's saying something. Kind of reminds me of the locker room the Atlanta Thrashers had my team stay in for the U9 intermission game.
I walk past this embarrassment of an NHL arena every day lol. Seriously cannot believe an NHL org is playing in these conditions. No wonder Yotes are requesting trades out
Care to name one and cite a source? Didn't think so.
This is home ice disadvantage 😂 when your giving away tickets in cereal boxes and people still don’t want to attend a game it’s time to move teams to Canada.
I've been watching your star wars videos for so long! Had no idea you covered Hockey too!
It honestly reminds of the C19 setup in my local arenas. No rooms, no benches, just folding chairs out in the open.
The visitors get dressed before they come to the rink just like old times when rinks didn't have dressing rooms. How do the other teams feel paying to keep this franchise afloat?
Wait…there’s an nhl hockey team in Arizona!?
Reminds me of the minor hockey days when we had a girl/girls on our team. The association wouldn’t let the ladies dress with us guys (for good reason) so very often they’d dress in broom closets, or even the wheelchair-accessible bathroom, as there was rarely a female-only change room. Thankfully all that has changed lol.
I keep repeating myself but Quebec fills NHL arenas with QMJHL and AHL teams. Give us our team ffs.
As long as Bettman is in charge of the NHL, the league will never have another Canadian team.
@@marie2274 oh I'm well aware, I'm still pissed off tho lmao
@@ImCedReacts I know. I would love to see Canada have their own NHL Division. When was the last time a Canadian Arena had the All-Star Event. Last time a Canadian team won the Stanley Cup was 1993, before Bettman. He won't even consider Quebec for a expansion team. Oh well
@@marie2274 you realize Bettman is paid millions a year to be the face and voice of the NHL team owners right? It is irrelevant of what his feelings are, he does the bidding of the owners. The NHL owners want a team in Phoenix, Bettman does not call the shots. (if he does or not is honestly irrelevant)
@@dumbcow1 True, Bettman wants a team in Arizona. He has had plenty of opportunity to move that team to another state - Kansas City, Quebec...but he won't. Not sure if the owners care where that team goes.
Insane. Reminds me of playing in an old timers tournament in Hawaii. No locker rooms. We had to change in the concession area which was tarped off with black sheets then walk down to the ice. No showers either. FYI the tournament was a blast but we are beer hockey not professional athletes.
The Hawaiian senior's league isn't pro hockey? I don't believe you
@@aomoxomoa3658 well we did get free beer! LOL
I just realized that you have both a Star Wars and hockey channel. This is awesome lol.
I cant believe they still have a team. NHL needs a new CEO
This is a bad look for the league
The NHL has a Diversity Chief. This locker room is far from the most embarrassing thing about that league.
I live in AZ, I'm not surprised nobody here understands a sport played on ice in what is mostly a desert. I miss the Whalers...
THATS ABSOLUTELY EMBARRASSING🤣
If it's functional then it's okay. And what are you embarrassed about? That seems kind of petty.
@@chickmagnet1497 you dont think playing at a college arena is embarrassing? Just look at the dressing room, its hilarious
@@CaptainGooseAviationPTFS it's functional , I don't suppose that they give a crap about my standards, has nothing to do with me at all, and I'm not groping for stuff to frown upon, so no I don't find it embarrassing
@@chickmagnet1497 arizona is the most embarrassing franchise to ever exist
@@CaptainGooseAviationPTFS not even close. And another thing, these are hockey players, do they really need ritz carlton level luxury? If everyone went Arizona's route then maybe it would lower ticket prices at least
Imagine spending all your young life becoming a hockey player get drafted and then have a lockeroom like this wow that would suck
Bro it's 4 games. You guys are divas. Holy shit. The real lockerooms will be done in 2 weeks.
If this was happening with a Canadian team lord Bettman would've never accept it. And it's not even for a few months it's going to be for a few years. With a brand new arena in Quebec city waiting for a NHL team 🤔
The NHL level locker room extension is supposed to be done in a week or two.
Its 4 games, oh no how will they dare live with this very temporary situation temporarily
they've just been riding on how fantastic the Picasso doggo jersey is. but that can go to any city or franchise
How embarrassing. It would not be suprizing if the players had to sew the corperate sponsor crest on their jersey themselves like we did in boy scouts.
Sad to see my Jets 1.0 going through this.
If the Coyotes somehow, some way make the playoffs, the Disney movie will write itself.
I feel bad for everyone. Hockey can work in Arizona, just need to give the fans a reason to cheer for them.
Which they won't
Its been long enough, they've had every opportunity. No one gives a fuck about hockey in Arizona. Move on
It’s been almost 30 years, Hockey is never going to work in Arizona. At this point they should either fold the Coyotes or relocate them to Quebec or Houston.
@@FightM1lk hockey has worked in Florida, California, Texas, and Vegas. No reason for it not to be able to work in Arizona other than the lack of having a team worth cheering for
This is frustrating for real hockey fans… I am sure Quebec fans wouldn’t need a reason to cheer for a team. all they want is one.
The away locker "room" isn't all that bad, except if there are going to be tons of people in that area, in which case you might as well get dressed on the bus.
This gives just a bad reputation to the NHL. People will think we're broke asf if they see this.
I’m going to the game tmr. I’m just happy my winnipeg jets get a better locker room😂
Arizona wants to make sure the side winning most of the games in the arena has the better locker room. How thoughtful of them ❤️
Poor Kassian went from one of the newer arenas with really nice player facilities to this situation.
The Oilers vs Blackhawks game has had an insane second period. You should check it out if you didn't watch. So many penalties and a questionable no goal call.
“I cried because I had no shoes until I met a man with no feet.”
the home lockerroom lowkey looks like a peewee town room ive been in LOL
The room symbolizes the god awful, embarrassing trainwreck that is the Coyotes franchise.
It's a great locker room for a peewee tournament or a beer league team. Maybe even a low-level junior team, but this is the NHL. You expect more from a multi-billion-dollar pro league at the top of the global hockey echelon. I mean, for christ sakes, my tiny home town has better facilities, an arena twice as big, and are currently outpacing them in attendance for a JUNIOR hockey team.... all with 3% of Phoenix's population...
They really had to show Keller’s locker in that guys been through enough
There's rinks here in Sask that still have natural ice and their dressing rooms are more modern than this
I had no idea you did NHL stuff man!
I know there are reasons for why the tenancy ended, but it's just nuts that they left a beautiful, still somewhat new, arena for a college rink. Even for a temporary basis.
They made their mistakes in the past with prior management but part of the blame goes on the City of Glendale cutting their lease short after they made a multi-year deal for the Glendale Arena.
Where were they gonna go? It’s either you have a temporary arena or you have a lockout
Glendale got mad because they wanted to be in tempe. It's a smart move tempe is a much better location. Everyone flipping out is insane. They will be getting a new stadium look at the rams and chargers now nobody talks there temporarily stadium
Just announced, the Coyotes have relocated from Phoenix to Scottsdale. That should fix everything.
When Your beer league has better lockerooms then an NHL team, and doesn't have them off site. that's how you know its bad.
Imagine being so bad that you have to use a college rink. You don't even get your own stadium. They should use a community ice rink for their next arena.
The funny thing here is TVA is owned by Quebecor, Quebecor owns a big chunk of the semi new amphitheater that is NHL ready in Quebec City.
I'm surprised they're still a team at this point.
The Arizona Coyotes have lost $115.2 million (USD) between 2013 and 2023.
The Arizona Coyotes are the lowest valued team in the NHL $450 million.
The Arizona Coyotes are consistently at the bottom in attendance (even before the move to Mullet Arena).
"[In reference to Arizona] It's an awesome market. IT IS TOP FIVE, we're close to it, and it's a place we want to be.
And there are great fans of hockey and the Coyotes, and we're hoping to work it out.""
- Gary Bettman (November 01, 2023)
Despite being last in attendance, last in valuations, and losing the most money for the NHL over the past ten years Gary Bettman went on the recod to say Arizona is a "TOP FIVE" market.
I often think he should not be commissioner anymore, and comments like those solidify my feelings.
Home locker looks like nice for a Beer League locker room! 😂🤣😂🤣 It'll get the older guys ready for what awaits them if they wanna keep playing after retiring. 🤣😂🤣😂
First time in history there will be broomball after an NHL game.
If they had access to an entire 200 foot rink, they could have built up temporary locker rooms on the concrete floor for home and away teams. They do that kind of thing for temporary barracks and hospitals in the military.
Thanks Bettman
Relocate this team. Arizona has been a hockey nightmare. Get it together Bettman.
That's sad and pathetic for an NHL team.. playing in a 5000 seat rink. They have a new rink, Mullet Arena... but alas same old sad team. Hey Bettyman... why don't you bring it back across the North border... EH!?? LOL
Bring the Nordiques back already!!!
This is just shameful. The players should demand this team move. Its a joke to the league and there is no way its making money to the overall hockey revenue pool.
I wonder if a call up refuses to go, when asked why, "well we have better lockerrooms down here"
I feel really bad for the players, imagine what this does to their mentality. Guys like keller are the leagues top talent and your telling me he's gotta get dressed in that pewee lockeroom.
Why don't the Coyotes just move to Tucson and share an arena with the Roadrunners?
The broadcasters will pump these three years as great and nostalgic, awesome for the NHL! Bettman is a crook by letting this happen - what's in it for him?
I'll tell you this. The Coyotes locker room looks like the Delpark Home Center locker rooms. OML
About 30% of the titles on this channel have the word "absolutely" in them. This one is the exception.
Both of those rooms look better than anything in high school...
I play beer league in NH and MA and trust me those locker rooms in the video are downright luxurious compared to the mold and piss locker rooms i have to change and shower in.
Then again, I'm not a professional athlete. But I looked at those locker rooms and thought "nice" ngl.
0:35 first time in history a door has been opened with that technique
The Visitors will have the entire building to themselves when they're there. At least that's what was reported.
MOVE THE TEAM!
granted I live in Canada, but as a 6 years old player, my neighborhood arena had much nicer locker room than both the away and home team ones... this is hilariously embarrassing, go yotes? go buttman? wtf
I hope the star players ask for a trade, this is unacceptable
Fans of the visiting teams need to get on a plane and pack the place. I’d love to see the bruins in a small rink.
The visiting locker room might be more spacious, but it looks like the home locker room has there showers attached. The visiting team doesn't look like they have private showers.
For all those saying this is going be hard for the players, it’s not ideal but I’m sure the players are perfectly happy playing hockey and living their dreams
For reals. The temporary facilities are for four games, and they aren't that bad. The NHL doesn't have a bunch of the divas and princesses you find in a lot of other sports. The boys will be fine😂
This is a black eye for the league. Coyotes need to be sold and moved to another city.
They need to relocate to Canada. Canadians are hungry for more teams
Not sorry at all if the people there can't figure it out, they have been given plenty of time to sell the game . What do we have to do structure a playoff contender of the bat not going to happen lots of teams had to struggle to get their franchises up and running I say relocate.
Question. Why are they getting changed... on the very ice surface that they need exposed... in order to play?
This is a separate rink
@@EckHockey so, they get dressed in an unfinished rink, and then they walk to a totally different rink?
As an ASU and Coyotes fan, this arena is far too small for a pro team. It’s gonna be a nightmare when powerhouse teams come to town, the ASU opener was so cramped I got claustrophobic trying to get to the bathroom. The Glendale arena was leagues more comfortable.
Why would anyone want to go to Arizona to watch their favorite team whip the coyotes when they can just watch it at home? 😂
@@slapshotjack9806 There are a lot of people in AZ that have relocated from other areas, we also get a bunch of snowbirds.
League leadership is to blame for some of this dysfunction. They need to take a hard look at some franchises that are struggling in their existing markets. I understand the quest to grow the league and create more parity. However, when you see teams in markets that clearly are not self-sustaining, changes should be made there before rolling out more expansion markets.
If this happened to Winnipeg Bettman would move then instantly. It's a goddamn joke
I thought they were going to use rolling wire shelves for the lockers.
Finally giving the Flames some competition for worst dressing room
Haha
wdym flames have nice one worst one goes to like friking dallas or LA
Are those folding chairs going to hold players with all their heavy and bulky equipment?
"does make the league look bad"
Deservedly since it is an entirely league's self-created problem.
This will mean nothing to anyone and will have no significance whatsoever, but I feel bad for the people of Quebec City. Countries who commit human rights violations are permitted to hold major sporting events, but Quebec can't have an NHL team.
What else are they supposed to do?
It seems odd not to place more emphasis throughout the video that this setup will only be used for four games. That's it. Yeah, it's embarrassing, but it seems many are reacting thinking this will be the situation over the next three years.
It’s only for the first 4 games. New ones aren’t quite ready
Does a guy come around after the game to hose them down in lieu of shower?
My senior year in high school. They were still finishing the new high school. Played first 5 weeks worth of football games before i even had my first day of school. I bet if they put a picture of Britney g in their lockers. They might not thight they have it so bad. And gainer broke the law
Watch... the away teams locker room is so small and shitty that every away team is going to deeply bond over it and just destroy the coyotes on the ice.
The home locker room has pickup league vibes. 🤣
Why the Coyotes didn't use Phoenix Suns home arena Footprint Center instead of this small arena ?
This situation is so bad that even Arizona native Austin Matthews wouldn't want to play at home. It must make him sad because he and the rest of the NHLPA members are paying for it with the escrow dollars deducted from their paychecks every week with no realistic way to recoup with a 5000 seat stadium.
The bathrooms aren't even covered in a mat. So, they have use it before they get dressed. That sucks!
The yotes locker room looks straight out of the movie slapshot
