Thank you for this video. I bought this hat hoop in 2022 and decided to try it today, June 23, 2024, for the first time. I thought it was no good because I didn't realized you attach it UPSIDE down on the outer hoop! I have a Brother SE1900. Thanks to YOU I can now use this hoop. Fingers crossed my first hat will come out OK and it will be at least 2" UP.
I just did a hat with this hoop and it worked fine. I am just doing hats for my friends so mine do not have to be so perfect. I do not think your customer will mind. I could not tell the imperfection that you seemed to see. Thank you so much!
+Ellen Roddy Thank you so much! Viewers need to know how it worked for more than just me! I appreciate your feedback and thank you for watching our video. 😊👍🏽
A very helpful well done video. I got the same hat hoop from Amazon. You probably saved me from scraping a hat or damaging my machine. I also watched your video about doing a hat with the 4x4 standard hoop.
Thank you for responding to my inquiry about beginner embroidery machine. I am just a crafter and not into selling,, just gifting for family and friends. Thinking on a brother PE 770 or PE 800. I just took up sewing a few years ago and am 71 yrs old so not looking for industrial machines. You are so talented!
Eve I thank you for taking one for the "team" and sticking it out late at night to teach us and impart what you know......I have a hat hoop and I am sure gonna try this....much thanks again...blessings
Thank you for this video. I debated a long time about getting this hoop and was always leery of its ability. However the other hat hoop were unreachable financially. After your videos you gave me the confidence to go ahead and purchase this hoop and I'm so glad you did it is help tremendously with embroidering hats on my single needle machine. Thanks again and keep up the good work uninspiring folks like me.
You are welcome! I am glad that you have found success in using this hat hoop. It is pretty easy to use. I wish you the best and I appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment! 🙂
You are a great teacher, thank you for explaining this slowly enough that I was able to follow your steps without getting frustrated. Most videos I have stop and go back many times not being able to follow along. Your a very pretty lady .. beautiful eyes

@The Baby's Booty I have this hoop in my Amazon cart thanks to you! Great video! I love your excitement over reaching your 1,000 subs! Look at you now, 50,000 deeepppp!!
Thank you very much for your knowledge. I purchased this hoop on Amazon and was very skeptical when I opened it until I saw your video. Iʻm super excited to try it. Again Mahalo!
I’m so glad I found your site it helped me figure out this hat hoop from Amazon thank you thank you I still have to figure out how to center it more which I’m having a little hard time with that and keeping everything flat and I can agree that the sticky stuff does not work for me either I have a brother SE 630 but thanks to your teaching I’m able to at least work the Heart Hwy the instructions that they sent with it is totally don’t even use him. You can’t even figure it out. You should do more videos like this on things that are hard to figure out lol thanks again. Good teacher !
Thank you for this video! I just ordered this hat hoop today from Amazon. It will be delivered tomorrow. I am so glad you mentioned that it is to be used as the inner connection to the 4x4 hoop. I had no idea. I am new to embroidering and am a new subscriber to your channel. I have learned so much from you in the past few days of watching you. Thank you for sharing and please keep the videos coming! Maybe I will share my finished results with you once I am done to get your feedback.
I just purchased this and you are a godsent! I was reading the instructions but it does not explain everything that you have explained! I'm going to try it in a few days once I get my hat order in the mail. I will definitely let you know how this works for me. Again I cannot thank you enough! 👍❤️
Thank you for so much info on the hat hoop. You are very knowledgeable about placement and using tools for embroidery. I am still new and I proceed with much caution but after watching your videos my confidence is growing. Keep up the good work
Thank you so much! Some time I'll give it a try. I agree with the last person...you do have beautiful eyes😀. I love the shoe holder on your wall to put items in👌👍. Love your videos so much.
I know it's 2 1/2 years old, but this video helped me to decide whether to buy this hoop or not. Well, I just purchased the hoop!! i dont do that many hats, but it will help!! Thank you for this video and your honest opinion of the hoop!!!
Great video! I have not yet purchased a machine but when to a shop today to look at them and gather info. Trying to decide if I can afford to take the plunge lol! I've watch 3 of your videos already and heading to the next one.
LOved the video! Very helpful. I look forward to seeing your next review. Thank you for sharing. Has there been any other mention of another type of hat hoop unit?
My hubby made me one using a clip board for my Brother SE 1800 Inovis 5 X 7. He watched a couple of videos. It worked beautifully and I don't have to flip it upside down to use it. It fits nice and snug - used duct tap around the edges. It may not be as lovely to look at, but I can get right down to the bottom of the hat to embroider. I don't use sticky stabilizer either. It is really easy to adjust and center the hat because of the clip. Thanks for the review. I have considered buying a commercially made one, but have held off because of the comments and reviews.
+Flying Lady 76 I did see a video link for that tutorial. I think I'll try all the different things to see how well it does or doesn't work, but mainly for the 4x4 machine. I'm happy to know it works for you though because that gives me hope for the 4x4!
I have the same one and it's a mess. I'm returning mines. It's too complicated for it not to work. Plus I don't have have sticky back stabilizer so I'm just going to let it float. Your video was awesome
I love the way you patch the sticky stabilizer! I can't seem to find a hat hoop to fit my Brother ULT2003D, so I have a job I am doing just basting the hats onto the stabilizer.
I "had" that hoop. A few months ago, I found like you did, the screws were in the way. I eventually broke mine trying to get it to work. Very upset I wasted money on it. As always, love your reviews and information you share.
Thank you!!! I was pretty ticked as well when I first got it and had to figure out how to back out those screws. But, now that I have, I kind of like it. LOL! Hmm. Also, if someone had snips, they could snip off those screws to make them shorter as well. 🤓 I appreciate your feedback and thank you very much for watching our videos. ❤
I purchased one hat hoop and it cost more than the one you have and when it came I could not use it because you had to purchase additional parts. I returned it and sent for the one you have and it works but I agree that you can't get too close to that brim when embroidering because it throws everything off. Enjoy all of your tutorials.
Aw man! Don't you hate it when your purchase doesn't come with all needed parts? Ugh. It was good to have everything for such a deal. Thank you very much for your comment and for watching our videos!!! 😊❤
Especially since the added part was over $ 100. I had already spent $40 and I just didn't feel I wanted to spend that extra $ 100. I have an order for 30 shirts that I'am starting today. Sorry I took this project on because she is only paying me $ 3.00 per shirt. I need to learn to JUST SAY NO. LOL
Aw. Well, although it's only $3, it will be okay because the next time, you'll charge more! I had to learn that the hard way as well. Just let her know it was an introductory price and she'll have to pay more with the next order. 👍🙂
I noticed all your videos are words, monograms and now the $ sign, I love it btw. My question is "Have you ventured out to an actual design?" My uncle wants a Camaro. I don't see why not but......a little scary. =) Thank you! Great job in your videos! =)
Thanks for your question! LOL! I was using what was useful. The $ is a customer's logo, and the words and monograms are either customer orders or something I can use later! 🙂😆 I will definitely add some pictures in there! Thank you for watching our videos and for leaving feedback. 👍
Thank you for the demo, I learned a lot. Now that you have used the hat hoop, which do you prefer with or without the hat hoop? You are so easy to learn from. Thank you.
Thank You!!! Hats are something that many people want, yet not very many know they can accomplish on a 4x4 machine. Puerto Rico!?!? Lovely! Thank you for being a part of our channel!
Hi Eve, I'm going to try the hoop when I get home, want hurt to try, as always great info. I would like to know how do you Embroider on sleeves with the 4x4, my request would be if you could do a video on sleeves with the 4x4 hoop when you have time. Thank you
Thank you for the video. What machine are you using. I have a brother se400.I have had it for about 4 or 5 years. I've haven't embroidered anything with it yet.
Glad I found you! Been looking to buy my first embroidery machine and stocking up info on how to use it and which machine would be good for beginners and reasonably priced. What machine would you suggest.looking forward to viewing more of your videos. Thank you!
Welcome to our channel! Your first embroidery machine depends upon what you have to invest and what you want to do with it. If you are starting a business and have the available capital, then you may want to look at getting an industrial machine like the Redline 15 needle machine, instead of getting a smaller home machine. However, if you are limited with the budget and just want a machine to see if you can start a business with it, then you can aim more for the smaller home machine. PE800 (5x7 maximum hoop size) is an excellent starting point. If that is still out of your price range, then the 4x4 options are good and can still earn a profit.
What do you call the cushions on the screws of the embroidery hoops and where did you get them? Thank you for the videos. I'm learning a lot. You're a great teacher.
Thank you for the video. I have a SE1900 and the hat thingee uses the 5 x 7 hoop and Yes it works. I suggest if you get one read the directions before you order a 4x4 hoop! Anyway... do you have a video on how to embroider a fabric cut-out? Thank you for sharing your knowledge
Overall I like your video. My point of writing is for you to open up your mind to "hacking" in this context it means modify your hat hoop where it interferes with the presser foot mount. What I mean is you can use a steel pin, an exacto blade, a razor blade, heat it with a butane lighter but better yet a real butane torch (like chefs use) you can get from Harbor Freight. Put the pin in a "dollar store" vice grips, so as not to burn yourself, and heat briefly till just red hot, not white, or pin will warp and or melt and thats BAD. Now, BEFOREHAND you have made marks on the hoop surrounding the area of "bump". Now shave the plastic in 1/2 mm slices at 45 degrees from the side wall of the hoop. CLARIFIYING: 1/2 inch long slice x 1/2 mm deep! Hopefully you get my drift? INSTALL JUST THE HOOP AND BRING IT DOWN LOW VIA YOUR POSITION SETTINGS YOU SHOWED AND HAND TURN THE MACHINE DOES IT SMACK THE HOOP? If so trim more. IMPORTANT: Trim only enough to solve bump but not ruin structural integrity of the hoop. Finish by using single edge razor to remove "flash" (the leftover melted plastic that overhangs the hoop) and with fast swipes from the torch, and i mean fast, you heal the rough plastic and make it round off. I'LL STRESS THIS PART CAN BE TRICKY BUT WORKS BEST! You can cut down on overswipe damage/warping by using a metal steel not aluminum can , opening it up, cut and use a piece of the side and with STRONG scissors, not your sewing pair, cut a 2'x2' square. Make a cutout in the middle of a side edge approx 5/8 inch left to right and no more than 1/4 inch deep like a notch. So you swipe with the can notch positioned over the rough and the can steel over the plastic to protect from overshoot of flame. You can try to sand roughs but plastic never really sands well. If you are steadyhanded you can use an x-acto knife to do the shaving but still might have to heal with flame! GOOD LUCK
😄👍 Thank you, Gold Rush One! I must say... Being that I did NOT do well in math... (Decent in wood shop tho. Go figure!) I saw your suggestion... however I learn best from seeing something done. Do you have a video?
No sorry but to simplify (without the hat installed and a simple circle as a "test design" bring the platform as "low" as you can and HAND TURN the wheel, you might see marks made by the presser foot (pre-existing or ones we make here), use mag glass look for scratches. then shave plastic with x-acto, best for you I think. you can omit the healing part I think due to its remote location. like you said "if you can do that "tough" hat method mount" you used before this fancy hat attachment, you can hack this hoop!
+Sandra Phillippe Yes, that's my main gripe. I'll try it again with a different hat type to see if it's the hat or the hoop. Thanks for sharing your experience! ☺👍🏽
This is one of the best methods to get larger designs on hats... however the farther down towards the brim you go, the harder it will be to flatten out the curve of the brim. The object being embroidered needs to be as flat as possible for issue free embroidery.
I noticed on Amazon there are several different sticky stabilizers. Which one did you use for this? The squares or roll? Can you provide a link? Thanks. Love your videos. They've really helped. Sorry to keep asking questions. Can you tell I'm new to this stuff? lol
I put a link to a common sized one from a company that I frequently order from in the description under the video. I'd put the link here, but CZcams doesn't like links in comments... sorry! I don't mind answering questions, you can ask away! 😃 I use the roll for the sticky stabilizer. Its all the same, it's just that the squares are already cut for you. 👍 Thanks for watching our videos and thank you for your comment.
Looking at this hoop on Amazon and it says to clamp the hat hoop on the side opposite the attachment to the machine and rotate the design 90 degrees. I don't even have my machine out at the moment to see if it would make a difference. But it seems that it would do two things. First, your alignment would be right as long as you centered it and second it would avoid the issue with the foot hitting the hoop. Can you verify this? I need to do some hats and would resort to my hat press and HTV but would love to be able to embroider them.
Hi. I am new to your channel. You had the answer by pinning. I saw a video where she pinned the hat to the stabilizer so it won't move and I saw one where she just held the hat in place with her hands. A bit scary. Another thing is the hat hoop also have the another part where you tighten the hat in place. That is located at the very opposite of the brim clamp. You didn't try to put the hat in there and tighten the hoop. Idk...that is just a suggestion. I am still waiting to see a better hat hoop myself. Thanks for the review. Have you tried a 5×7 hoop on your machine yet?
Thanks for stopping by our channel! I don't really use that hat hoop since I have a Hat driver on my multineedle machine. The 4x4 machine won't use a true 5x7 hoop. There is a repositional hoop that Amazon has listed as 5x7 but it really is not 5x7. It's actually 4 x 6.7. I do have a tutorial video on the repositional hoop.
I love your videos!!!.Thanks for your time.I have a SE 400 and i love it but i had an issue the other day.i had a problem with a threat but i try to start again and i couldn't move the design to the before color.my question is if you started already you can't go back?
Hi! I love your videos! I just got my hat hoop for my 4x4 hoop. I am embroidering a hat I got at Walmart, an ordinary cap, that cost $3.75. Well I almost got my beautiful hat done but, I broke 2 needles doing it. My machine which is a Brother HE 1 was making loud straining noises during embroidery and the machine seemed really stressed for the material of hat. I was wondering if there is a more heavy duty machine I could get, something more industrial to do baseball hats on?
Yes there is! There is a multi-needle embroidery machine that i use called a Redline. You can find several of my videos using it and more info on it at Redline1501.com
this woman is awesome, she explains thing well, has a sense of humor, gets to the point, and is super generous with her time and information. sweet!
Thank you!!! 😊😊😊

Totally fun video. Have you done a furry bath robe lettering video? Sounds like a great Christmas gift idea.
I have indeed! And they were Ralph Lauren Polo robes which cost the customer over $80 each. It had me sweating bullets!!! They turned out great!
Thanks for help on this hoop , but I wondering does the sticky go on hoop causing problems when using hoop.
It doesn't usually cause problems. It is a common tool used in many embroidery tactics.
Good job! Obvious design flaw in the hat hoop. Look forward to next one.
Thank you so very much for your informed videos I'm learning so much keep up the good work!
Hi Eve, I'm going to try the hoop when I get home, want hurt to try, as always great info. I would like to know how do you Embroider on sleeves with the 4x4, my request would be if you could do a video on sleeves with the 4x4 hoop when you have time. Thank you
+Lorraine Cotton I will definitely do a video on sleeves! 👍🏽 Thank you for the request. 😄
Have you ever done a ball cap that was kind of firm instead of the floppier ones? If so, any advise?
Thank you for the video. What machine are you using. I have a brother se400.I have had it for about 4 or 5 years. I've haven't embroidered anything with it yet.
Probably the PE500 or SE425, at that time I had both.
God I learn so much from you...GOD BLESS YOU!!!
Thank you for the great instruction and opinions.
Thank you kindly! 🤗
Im new to ur channel, Thanks alot for ur detailed video.. so helpful.. love ur way of making thing work.. keep going..
Great video! Thank you!
Glad you liked it!
thank u becouse the insrustions that came with mind didnt work for me but i set the hoop up the way u did and im good now
Yaaaaas! I am very happy you got it working correctly. 🙂
Donate the hats that didn't come out right to a local charity and take them as a tax writeoff. Great video!
What do you call the cushions on the screws of the embroidery hoops and where did you get them? Thank you for the videos. I'm learning a lot. You're a great teacher.
anyway you can do a video on how to do a deisgn on the front left or right side of the hat please instead on centered?
Thank you for the video. I have a SE1900 and the hat thingee uses the 5 x 7 hoop and Yes it works. I suggest if you get one read the directions before you order a 4x4 hoop! Anyway... do you have a video on how to embroider a fabric cut-out? Thank you for sharing your knowledge
I have a video on how to do applique but it is a part of an In The Hoop tutorial. I suppose I should put an applique video on the list!
Did you have the same issues with the needle hitting against the brim and imperfecting the design on the 1900?
cool info just got it amazon thanks.
Hello hope all is well you need eye glass kit to work with those small screws.
For sure!!
Can you slide the bill of the hat up a little so it won't hit the bill while embroidering?
BTW, woodworking is the key to sewing , everything from t-squares to tri-angles gotten from the dollar store school aisle Parallel.
+GoldRush One 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Thanks for the guidance 😊
+GoldRush One I did love woodshop! ❤❤
Once again you've done an excellent video. Thank you !!
Love learning from you. Do you know if I can use the hat hoop on the SE725?
I have that gizmo, and to center it I have to barely put the bill in the clamp... Or the logo is on the top of the hat. .... Hmm, but it works
+Sandra Phillippe Yes, that's my main gripe. I'll try it again with a different hat type to see if it's the hat or the hoop. Thanks for sharing your experience! ☺👍🏽
do you embroidery your caps on bai? and did you have trouble with breaking needles?
I embroider caps mainly on my Redline. The only time I had issues with breaking needles was when using the super stiff Richardson type caps
Can you get any farther down on other caps with this? I mean for larger designs?
This is one of the best methods to get larger designs on hats... however the farther down towards the brim you go, the harder it will be to flatten out the curve of the brim. The object being embroidered needs to be as flat as possible for issue free embroidery.
Good video. Will try my hoop again.
Could you place a center mark using a sharpie on the hoop?
Definitely! Good idea!
This was super helpful! Thank you very much. Btw your eyes are so beautiful
Thank you very much! 😊😊 I appreciate you taking the time to watch our videos! 🤗
Thank You. Very informative.
Glad you enjoyed it, thank you for leaving a comment!
I do have a tutorial video on the repositional hoop.
but you could tape the sweat band out of the way
Yes it can be taped out of the way. 👍🏽
Thank you so much for the video!
You are very welcome! Thank YOU for watching our videos 🙂
Like your style!
Thank you!!! I appreciate you taking the time to watch our video! 🤗❤
I love your videos!!!.Thanks for your time.I have a SE 400 and i love it but i had an issue the other day.i had a problem with a threat but i try to start again and i couldn't move the design to the before color.my question is if you started already you can't go back?
Very Informative. Would like to know where you get your hat supplies though. Thanks.
Great video! I have a question. Does that hat hoop fit an Innovis NS1750D? It is a Brother Machine.
It should because the hoop is 4x4. That hat hoop attachment hooks to 4x4 brother hoops.
I just love your videos!
I don't speak english, but i understand your explanation, Thanks.
I am glad it was helpful! 👏🏽
Why not use the grid that came with?
It can absolutely be used.
Does this Hat Hoop work with the Brother SE 1900? Does it work on thicker material caps
Thanks for sharing your review, will this. Hoop fit for a PE800
The specific one that I show in this video is made for the 4x4 hoop. If you search for "Durkee hat hoop" they make one for the 5x7 hoop.
Good video thanks
