I have one in OD and Dessert. The grenade pouch is spot on for a small set of binoculars. A quick stitch to close off the bottom of a 40MM grenade pouch and a AAA flashlight fits nicely.
I just bought this exact same vest with all the pouches, new, unissued, for $25 at the local gun show. Shop around, you can save big$$
I bought a Woodland one for like $15. Woodland is a better camo for my area anyway, even though I'm in my hunting blind xD
I got a bunch of Molle Gear and a ACH Helmet from my dad. I love this stuff.
This could be the basis for an interesting "ultralight overnight" loadout.
I used the grenade pouches for other things, first one is a compass / first-aid and the other for a small tactical radio
A tip is the ACU is currently the most expensive while the new desert camo vests being the least expensive. Just buy the desert and dye or even spray paint it, the materials are high quality and take dyes very well.

I found the same Molle vest for $10, including shipping, plus two, 3 mag pouches for an AR-15, which was also $10 including shipping but from a different vendor. Both were Amazon Prime purchases which includes 2 day shipping. The vest was for a fat guy so I got out my sewing scissors and the sewing machine. I was glad to get back to using my sewing skills, which are pretty basic, but now the vest totally rocks!
Pouches do get expensive, but its PERFECT when its done! Due to selecting them all individually based on need.
We were still using those old school LBVs in the Marine Corps in 2006. We didn't switch over to the new design until 2007ish.
I hang everything from my vest.Eastern block mosin pouch's, ALICE compass pouch's, East German canteens you name it. I love this thing.
Got my vest for 11.00 shipping included and all pouches averaged 7.00 each, total 56.00, so 67.00 for all. Pays to shop around eBay and Amazon. Only problem was canteen pouch came with ALICE clips and not MOLLE....NP, can easily reorder and use ALICE pouch on web belt as secondary water or misc. pouch. Great vest set up with loaded belt with suspenders...can carry 72 hour bug out with free hands for rifle. Add assault pack from ILBE back pack and can carry enough gear and ammo to go for week to 10 days at under 40 total pounds.
And now battleboy wants $400 for this set because they want to include the backpack and camelback whether you need them or not...back to searching I go

I picked up this vest, 3 mag pouches that hold 3 and 4 mags, a radio pouch, and a first aid pouch for 35 bucks at my gun show yesterday! I got a steal!
I just picked one up at local farmers market in DE today. It had
2 canteens and one nesting cup- 2 double mag pouches- and compass pouch

This has aged like fine wine. You can find these fully loaded at yard sales for $20 and NIB at local surplus stores around here for about $40.
Now that plate carriers are the new tacticool thing nobody wants these, esp in ACU.
You can put two mags in the middle pocket of the 3 mag shingle. You can shoe horn a fifth in one of the end pockets as well, but it can be pretty tight on certain ones.

Now that they’re surplus you can get them for cheap but since it’s digital camouflage I don’t think people will buy them. I got one and plan on getting a second and they’re good for the money.
I just purchased one of these with some pouches already attached for $27. I want a chest rig style system for when I ruck. I looked at a bunch of condor and other products but went with this. If it was good enough for the US military it’s good enough for my application.
I was at Mills Fleet Farm with a friend and was looking for an ALICE pack and stumbled upon this west with all the pouches, but didn't have a price on it. I got it for $35 w/pouches! It is indeed a quality vest and I agree with Sooch 100%.
We actually have AR-15 mags we just haven't listed them on the website. We mostly sell them at gun shows. If you want some just go to the contact info on the website and give us a call. We even have original colt 20 round mags.
My woodland FLC MOLLE 1: w/ - 2 ammo pouches; - 1 canteen pouch; - 1 e-tool pouch; - 2 grenade pouches cost me $80.00 (CAN) & that includes shipping/ handling (all bought seperately) from ebay.
I first tried to consult 'battleboy surplus' - had difficulty on their website - I suggest next time you fix your website.
If there's any fellow Canadians reading this please note many US merchants don't ship to Canada due to US export policy on certian items - CAN customs is not always at fault.
I got a desert camo one with no pouches on eBay for $17, great quality vest.
I prefer the older but that's just me. The color pattern kinda turns me off. But your right options and more options. I used the lbv on both deployments and had no issues with it.
I picked up mine for $56 minus all but one of the grenade pouches and the triple mag pouches. I guess that's not too far off. I can get the mag pouches for $15 (or close to that). It is used, but you cannot tell it on the one I picked out.This was at Brigadoon Army Surplus in Del City, Oklahoma. Great customer service there.
Followed your advice and got the USGI Issue w all molle attachments. GREAT DEAL!!! GREAT QUALITY!!! I have it configured for my ar15 and will probably get another for my shotgun (sweeper) configuration w molle shotgun bags, etc. Thanks sootch
amazon has this vest for like 15 bucks and u can buy a combo pack that includes this vest, side pouch, and magazine pouch for 36 bucks
No. Usually there are belt hangers at the bottom of a vest and you can put a utility belt on it and mount whatever else you want. I have a big knife, thigh holster, and a dump pouch on mine.
Local surplus store is asking $100 for these with two pouches. Ridiculous!! I got one without anything for $15 and I put my own accessories on it.
Good points! I'd like to add though, that if you already have an ACU vest but are in a woodland environment, purchase woodland pouches and this will break up the ACU.
$79 for all that new ACU molle stuff is a great deal.
You can get DCU for a tiny bit less if you shop around, but not much cheaper.
When the DoD dumped its DCU molle gear on the surplus market a couple of years ago, you could get a new FLC for 5 bucks and a fairly complete setup for 25. They're more expensive today.

Great review Sootch! I bought one of these a few months back in DCU (three color desert camo). Great quality, materials and construction for the money.
The DCU was a little on the bright side for Missouri, but a little Green RIT dye and a 5gal bucket and its a light sage with coyote highlights in the camo portion.
Didn't get pouches with mine, but I've been using a multicam carbine/pistol molle loadout I already had, very happy.

im 16 and i love going to surplus stors i bout mine for $25 just for the vest and i couldent figure out how to adjust the waste but i just needed to know where the tabs were and i figured it out. it is very simple once you figure it out! thanx for the vid
Prices have gone up for shipping we don't have much control over that I'm sorry to say. In fact we've lost money a few times because of shipping especially when people buy stuff from us off of Amazon. I just orders a Glock knife and shipping was $12 so I feel ya on that.
It is easier and more comfortable when it's all on the same vest. Just personal preference really though.

I wore mines backwards in Iraq so i can put more pouches on my chest when wearing my IBA.I even managed to put my M9 SERPA holster with a roto rig on my chest mounted securely too.
So do you wear this by itself or can you wear it over a plain Jane plate carrier? I just bought a plate carrier/ level3 soft plates combo but the carrier it self doesn’t have any type of mole to attach anything
Cesar Martinez you can wear it over a vest the us military in Iraq and Afghanistan wore the flc over the otv vest
@HCDDWarhero It's made by the specalty goup which is a goverment contractor. it's quality stuff better than most of the aftermarket stuff.

I too bought a MOLLE II vest off ebay a while back, and although the molle attatchments are rather spendy, I just buy like one a month off ebay for like $6, more than affordable. But i agree with you, this is the absolute best vest i have ever owned as far as tatical gear is concerned. Beats the hell out of the old alice styles
I buy one of these they are pretty good I get one brand new just for 37 us dollars with 9 pouches the only thing I don't like about this vest is the color mine is printed in ucp

Yeah I'd like to get rid of my crossdraw vest and get a molle vest with nothing but rifle mags on the bottom and a thigh holster for my pistol. Only problem I see with that vest is that I don't see a way to mount the pistol holster.
Oh man, if I didn't already have a vest I would have picked up one of these. Great price on that.
Just gotta remember to distribute the weight. It works fine with my .308 setup. There are other vests I'd like to get but they cost quite a bit more.
I saw them at my local surplus store in UCP or Coyote Brown for $29.99.

@jabara83 The MOLLE II FLC Vest is worn over Body armor but i don't see it a lot. It's worn over the IOTV usually.
@TacticalGearReview It's hard to get Od green stuff. We can get uniforms and m65 field jackets but in turns of gear all we can get is the aftermarket. Our price on the aftermarket stuff would be the same as everyone else so were only just now getting into that market. We would rather sell quality gear at a reasonable price even if we cant have the same variety as the aftermarket companies just yet.
Wow that same exact vest was 79.99 at al's army.
it is a good deal if your running an AR. what i dont understand is that there are millions of AKs in the word so why are there not that many good AK rigs. with this set up all you could run would be 3 AK mags as the triple shingle pouches wont close with an AK mag

You need to try it with 8 or more loaded magazines in the front. The rear belt wants to ride up your back. This causes the back grab handle to push on the back of your neck. Balance it out with gear on the back belt of equal weight and the belt twists outboard. Due the narrow belt with only 2 molle rows There is a reason this is on the surplus market,they suck. sooth00 stop pimping this vest for Battle Boy.The pouches work great. Just put them on a full front and full back tactical vest. Gunny Z

Respectfully sharpie443, I see lots of descent basic full coverage vests for reasonable prices. Since you are shooting a .308, your spending the cash and have the cash to spend. You! have to decide whats important. A good system.alas, nutnfancy,wranglerbarn,USNERDOC, and sootch00..or that night out to dinner with your significant other. Save your cash..protect your family. A month from now you won't remember what you ate..You will have a the start of a great defensive system.Train hard..Gunny Z

I have a question: If you want to wear the FLC but you also want to add camelbak-style hydration on the back, will you be able to attach a molle hydration pouch + bladder? Or do you wear a dedicated backpack over or under the vest?
(I'm not about huge rucksacks btw, just small 3L pouches/backpacks)

I like the idea of this vest. I have checked around with a few guys in the army. Can you get it in a different color? OD green, kaki, tan or coyote brown or tan? No compass/first aid pouch? And finally nice rifle in the back ground. What kind of scope is mounted on it and have you done a video on it?
