In the old song, her name was "Jenny"..lt's an old Irish and Scots term for a woman of no particular, a "Jenny bird everywhere"....he wasn't betrayed by a woman, but by his own desires...he stole the money, took it home to Jenny-bird, slept in his own, then felt betrayed, feeling sick after seeking the bottom of the jar.....
