Neymar will always be world class IMO. Although injuries hurt his career a bit, he's still able to perform at top level and still compete with the best across the world.

Not anymore g Neymar used to be my favourite player for soooo long, that first season at psg I thought he would go on and do something great there but it's just been downhill very since that injury, now Mbappe has taken over, Mbappe is a baller too but I preferred Neymars skill on the ball, his 5* left peg aswell

This was his peak don’t care what anybody says, in terms of individual skills and contributions in Europe this was near to Messi/Ronaldo’s level.

he's always been world class. there's a very short list of players who are able to do what he can do on the pitch. a technical wizard when in play. he creates so many goal scoring opportunities for his squad and mesmerizes audiences with brilliant skill that looks so effortless watching. people just have to appreciate him for what he's doing and what he has done instead of comparing, criticizing, and setting expectations for him. he's truly a joy to watch and will be missed when he's done playing. his impact on this generation is up there with the greats of all time.
I would like to see him at this level again. I am a barça fan and since his departure for psg I don't find the same feelings on the left wing position anymore cause he's not to pruduce his magic. No one can replace him
He was in good shape against madrid last week for a guy just coming back from 2 months injured. We barely had time to see Mbappe/Messi/Neymar together this season, but this could get sick. Hope this was his injury of the year as usual and that's he'll be available for the those last few months.

And for those that will use the cope argument "FarMerS LeaGuE", first of all neymar also was the champions league top scorer and assister until he got injured as well, not just in league 1, plus messi strugles in league 1 so, it looks like it is not easy to play good, even in league 1. People should stop trying to undermine individual success by using bs arguments like "the league is easy" etc.

2 things I really noticed is that in recent seasons he's lost the joy he clearly had while playing during this first season (probably due to how his repeated injuries affected him), and also how underrated his ability to completely break a team's defensive shape with a single pass or dribble. People might only look at his goals and assists, of which he has many, but that ability to blow the pitch wide open is unbelievable. I really think he could've gotten at least 2 UCLs and 1 world cup during his time at PSG if it hadn't been for his injuries.
He doesn't deserve a balon dor, UCL, or world cup. Leave those trophies for players that actually compete in a high level and not a farmer's league.

If its not a goal, its an assist. If its not an assist, its a goal. If its neither, its him breaking down the whole defense which leads to a goal. Saying he doesn't deserve any of those trophies is insane. You need to watch more football.

This was the last bits of fitness and discipline after arriving from Barcelona, playing on the best team on the planet at that time he still had the energy from there so he was on another level from the French players. Now with injury and age his form has dropped considerably. He’s almost hazard level unrecognizable now.

Neymar's prime lasted longer than most people think.. He was at his best 2017-2020. I agree that Neymar today has declined hugely but at his absolute prime, Neymar is definitely one of the greatest players of all time and I don't say that lightly. He was near Messi level and definitely above Ronaldo.

No one can stop this man at that time. It's always been hard time for a player moving to different league different club, different atmosphere. Bt for Neymar he came at paris with the beleif in his heart to climb up the top level of football with his new team and teammates. So nothing made him stop at that moment. Well... while Mbappe certainly learned from Neymar (who was clearly the best of the two at that time) and improved thanks to him, IMO it's a big exaggeration to say he was "just a kid who ran fast". It just takes one to have a look at his games with Monaco to realize he was already much more than that even before he joined PSG. Although he definitely improved in these departments (specially lately), the "kid" had already shown way above average abilities (noticeably great flair, quick decision making and sharp skills, on top of amazing pace) before psg bought him. He actually showed some stagnation on his first couple of years at PSG, but he was already much more than just a speed merchant anyway, when he joined them!
Sure Psg likes to spend huge money, but they certainly didn't put 180 millions on the table just to get a fast kid. They are not ManU spending 80 millions on Maguire either 😂
Watching him is always a delight, when he misses the target it feels like we missed the target, when he does the skills it boosts our confidence, hoping he plays magical 90mins in psg v real madrid for ucl 2nd leg
people saying injuries robbed his career.. that's true, but the injuries happened only because of the lack of protection referees gave to him, especially in France, and also due to unfair players.. that's sad. PSG has the money but looks like they don't have any influence in the League, and League One didn't show any respect to the one that brought them some audience.
What protection? Should they create a new foul and card just for fouling Neymar? He got fouled as much as any star player, the difference is that he has glass ankles and his coping method was diving as much as possible, even slightly touching his arm would lead him to dive. That made it all obvious for the other teams, just pressure him a little and he'll fall and stop his play.
Take a look at Ronaldo Fenômeno and the time he played, the fouls he received were much harsher and it never stopped him, only made him push his limits
